What Is A Soffice?
A Soffice Testacani is a canid-like beast, discovered by an Italian man who went by the name "Efisio Beccaria Voltaire. The Soffice themselves do not know of his name or him, and teaching them about him can make some very grateful and sometimes even closer to you, but for others it may make them bitter and aloof. It all depends on the Soffice.
Pronounced "so-fee-chay teh-stuh can-nee"
The name literally translates to "fluffy skulldog".
Plural is "Soffice Testacani", like a deer.
Where Are They Found?
They are native to Italy, and spread sparsely in a few of the surrounding countries.
They can be found on most Italian islands in the wild, and as well are easily found dwelling in the mountain ranges. They are spread out in more condensed, wild populations around the lakes and rivers, and integrate easily into an unorthodox domestic life and easily into an urban, modernized settlement.
What About Physiology?
Diet
They're extreme omnivores, and staples of their diet consist of 60% meat and 40% fruits, berries, and nuts.
Fish is the most commonly eaten staple in the wild and in domestication, but they will as well attack livestock, if they are given permission or are hungry enough. They'll eat beef, pork, poultry, horse, veal, and anything really.
Vegetables are rarely, if ever, consumed.
Chocolate, sugar, caffeine and all that junk are perfectly acceptable food.
How To Adopt

Just fill out the form given by the artist of the Soffice as instructed.

What About Physiology?
- Their largest grown size is about the size of a large Great Dane, while smallest, once again grown, is about a Basenji dog.
The pups are always the size of a grown housecat moggie.
They are somewhat aquatic, being capable of breathing water as well as air. Like a polar bear, they swim by only moving their front legs, and keeping the back legs still, or using them as a rudder. They are slow but excellent swimmers.
They are easily domesticated, but as mentioned, it is very unorthodox: The Soffice nearly rules the human. They provide companionship while the 'owner' provides shelter, food (when it does not wish to get it's own), and affection, and a set period of time where they can run free and wild, with no one but their own kind accompanying. This can be three hours once every week, or a week in its entirety in the year.
They are, as well, capable of speaking any tongue they grow up around, or have had the time taken to teach them, as they are apt learners.
They are always natural colours, like browns or blacks or tans or any of the like, with one or two markings in an unnatural, often bright colour somewhere on their body. Their eyes can be whatever colour, natural or not.
They have long, white tongues and dolphin-like teeth.
They have a variety of sounds to communicate with that aren't human, and these include: clicking, whistling, gurgling like a cat, growling, roaring, caterwauling, purring, and their distinctive call of "AY! AY! AY!", which is used to finish the individual mating call,after the unique combination of most of the aforementioned sounds, and to scare away enemies and opposition.
