what is a Gem Folf?
A Gem Folf is a fox-like creature but is the size of a wolf. Everything about them us bigger. Their tails, ears, longer legs, and a bigger snout. They have large tufts of fur hanging out of their ears, and one would think it would hamper their hearing. This is not the case, the hair-like fur actually acting much like a string and cup telephone line, amplifying the vibrations in the air. Gem Folves have beautiful gems embedded into their skulls and give them mystic powers. Males have an extra, smaller gem that grants them slightly more power. The gems that emit a faint, or bright glow are signs of a more powerful Gem Folf.
Behavior:
Gem Folves act much like typical foxes. They are mischievous and sly, but curious and very playful. However, they seem to form small packs and clans, reacting to one another as wolves would. They hunt small animals like rabbits and mice, though will scavenge larger meals and scraps left behind by other predators. They use their gems to attract mates as well as fight.
Territory and habitats:
Gem Folves can be found mainly in forested areas, though some live in mountainous regions and hoard gems much like dragons. These often have small protruding fangs jutting out over their bottom jaw. Rarely do they live in the arctics, though there are a few in pockets. They have a territory of several miles, and will dig large fox holes and dens, creating tunnels deep underground. Occasionally when new kits are born, or another Gem Folf joins in, another chamber will be dug out for them. This occurs when each chamber houses four folves inside. Generally, Gem Fovles of the same gem colors join together, each folves targeting their opposite color in brutal attacks for dominance and territory.
