OK so I love this ship VERY much and I really needed to do some art of it.
I understand its not the greatest... I've seen better... But I didn't use a reference, It made the picture off memory...
I live near Belfast so I know pretty much know all there is to know about Titanic!
But out of the many stories told about this ship and their passengers I will tell you one that really really touched me.
This story was told by Bertha Watt (Later on Marshall)
Bertha was 12 years old when she was on Titanic. She said that the lessons she learned there, provided her woth a sound philosophy for her life. She told stories about the selfishness and ignorance of some of the other passengers.
''There was a Minister who hid under the seat on our boat, walking stick and small case included. When we were well on our way he appeared and sat bemoaning the fact that he had lost so many years of sermons on the Titanic.''
'' Another woman was worrying about her jewels, when, all of a sudden another woman yelled ' Give me back my husband and son and i'll buy you all the jewels you lost!''
The above stories really touched me. I couldn't believe the ignorance of some people! But not all were like that, Just like the Unsinkable Molly Brown!
So this is were my picture came from... It is a girl, around the age Bertha was when she was on Titanic, At the docks in Belfast imagining the dock fill with water, and Titanic sailing in. The boat is not actually there.... It is an image from her imagination. At the time she remembered the lost lives and panic that night brought. Remembering all the sorrow afterward.
These stories are something you can't ignore. They are true and they are told all over the world. People lost, Fathers, Brothers, Children, Parents. It really is the most greatest tragedy ever to be told....
