Does the line have any issues with Syringomyelia?

 Definitely research this, it's very prominent in the breed and it's a scary thing.

you must check for Syringomyelia, it is a horrible disease which is extermely painfull for the dog.
Hi guys, I have just finished vet school and am working on a highland project managing the moors with a herd of highland ponies. I am happy to answer horsey questions and give advice. but PLEASE don't ask for medical advice, my answer will always be to call a vet.

hey,
Like the other's said check for that disease, which im not if its mentions but is genetic. For the longest time I was trying to convince my mother on getting a dog and this breed was perfect. Unfortunatly, she said absolutley not. So, i would say Cavaliers are very gentle, one of the best breeds with children. They are also great for apartment living. With excersise of course. i would definatly say to check out Dogs 101. on either animalplanet.com or just on youtube. They have amazing info!
