"Don't mention it!" Zach flashed one of his grins up at the girl before turning back to his spilled things. Candy and cat treats, two of his favorite things! He grabbed the rest of it and held it out to the girl. "I'm Zach and this is Bird. Who're you?" He gestured back at his friend as he introduced him, the cold beginning to seep back in.

"My name is Dusty. Dusty Biteback." She replied, suddenly wishing she didn't mention her very strange surname. Dusty looked sideways, her blush suddenly turning her face red. "Nice to meet you." she said slowly, her heart thumping in her ears. Why is meeting new people so hard?

The snicker that escaped his lips was unintentional, he swore, but her last name was just so ripe for puns! "So, dusty, you want to get out of the biting wind?" Zach's eyes lit up with mischief as he glanced back at Bird to see if he got it, before he burst out laughing. "Sorry! So sorry!" he managed to choke out before doubling over, the sugar making his normally hyper personality even crazier.

Dusty couldn't help it. She giggled at the joke, and nodded. "That has to be the best pun of my name I've heard in a while." Dusty shifted her arms a little, which were still filled with candy and cat treats.

The same noise that caught Zach's attention had caught his, although he didn't rush once he realized what was going on seeing as Zach had already beat him there. He began standing behind his Hufflepuff friend with his hands stuffed in his pockets, he didn't recognize the female but he gave her a small smile as Zach introduced them to her. Bird really didn't say much, as it was pretty awkward. Although he facepalmed at Zachs pun he still laughed.

"Yes...they are my pets. Scratches is a cat and Lilly is a rabbit..." He mumbled as he continued to play with his fingers. His pets were basically his prized possessions and companions he adored them dearly. Letting out an audible groan when she mentioned it was nearly time to go back he pouted "Why can't this day last forever?? I don't want to go back to classes..." he whined until she asked his favorite color. Perking up it took him a minute to reply, never really...answering that question before. "I would...have to say green...you?"

"I'd say silver or blue." I said, putting sugar in my tea as it was set on the table. "And if it makes you feel better we probably have some classes together? And there's always meal times." I said, smiling at him. "What's your favorite subject?"

"Bird's far better at those kind of things than me," Zach declared, not in the name of modesty or any of that, it was simply true. "We were going to get lunch, would you like to come?" It wasn't every day that someone was friendly, the fact that his enemies outnumbered his friends was painfully aware to the Hufflepuff. Besides, having another person along in case things went South, not that they would, or awkward, which was far more likely, couldn't hurt. Right?

"I would love to come." Dusty replied. She tucked her strangely coloured hair behind her ear, before quickling asking. "Uh - But where?"

Bird shrugged at Dusty's question. In truth, he was pretty much unsure where they were going in the first place "Well, I think Zach said the Three Broomsticks, but if we are going to eat we better do so now. It's almost time to leave Hogsmeade." He managed to sneak a look at the clock back in the book-store they left not long ago. Although, Bird wasn't complaining they could always eat back at Hogwarts...well sorta they would be separated by house and then they wouldn't be able to talk to their new Gryffindor friend.

"True..." pushing a piece of his messy hair back when it fell from its usual curled up place he continued speaking "As for my favorite subject...I'd say Potions or Transfiguration" He found it fascinating that things could turn into other things. "I never really had a knack for school things.... Im assuming we have had potions together, no offense but your hair is hard to forget.. b-but whats you're favorite subject?" It was the truth that her hair was hard to forget but in a good way.
