With a huff, she decided she couldn't sleep, but looking at the fire was getting boring. Instead of sitting on her little leaf bed- she got out of the cave and leaned back on her tree again, blankly staring into the darkness, dimly lit by the moon. There weren't any streetlights to light anything, so the stars shined a lot brighter than at home, which she thought was amazing. Gazing at the night sky, she decided that she'd gotten enough rest, and could do this instead.

he managed to lay on his back because the rock was a decent size for the most part. gaze upward, he simply looked at the stars, naming plenty of constellations off the top of his head. Derek sighed once he ran out of ones to find and name and glanced at the moon, it seemed it'd be a full moon tomorrow from the looks of things but things like that seemed of no importance but at least he was keeping himself busy.

Naomi stared at the stars, and by the time morning came, she hadn't gotten any sleep. She'd kept herself occupied with other things, and now that the sun was coming up, she needed to go get water again for the day. Standing up, she stretched then started on her way to the river.

derek had managed to get some sleep for the most part, but it wasn't enough to rid him of his exhaustion. as morning came, he was able to see just how bad his ankle was. it was twice the size it should be, along with sporting a pretty nasty bruise. he winced when he tried to move it just a little before he glanced to the opposite side of the river with a sigh.

Naomi walked up to the river, not focusing on anything else. She bent over to fill up the home-made containers, then took a few sips using her hands. She had come to like the river, but hate it all at the same time because of the memories.

derek was beginning to think she wouldn't be coming but once he spotted her across the river, he spoke up, almost having to yell so she'd hear him. "hey naomi, I know you probably still don't want to talk to me but I kinda need your help." he stated as he sat up and looked at her.

Naomi looked up when she heard his voice, then up at him on the rocks. She set the water down and glared slightly. How was she supposed to help if she was on the other side of the river? "With what" she ased

okay, why was she glaring at him? he literally had done nothing. when she finally spoke, he sighed. "you see, that boar I told you about likes to frequent where you're at right now and it chased me and I kinda sprained my ankle running from it and ended up tumbling into the river. it's not broken but I can't put weight on it." he explained with a shrug. "there"s a path around the river but it's not short. but I mean if you don't want to help, I'll figure something out." he stated.

She looked at him and sighed, looking up for a moment in a half eye roll. She didn't get how she was supposed to help him if he couldn't walk anyawy. 'What am I supposed to do about it? I'm not a doctor." she said and folded her arms. The path around the river sounded tedious to her, and she didn't want to swim through either.

"I said you don't have to help since you obviously don't want to. I'll just figure it out myself." he said cooly even though he had no idea how he would. if the roles were reversed, he would have helped her but he supposed she was still in her feelings. Derek slid off the rock and balanced on one leg, using the rock to help balance him. he had taken his shoe off mainly so it wouldn't cause any more damage.
