"Lighttail..." Sighed Snowheart. "It was Darkheart..." Then she closed her eyes.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Leapheart screeched as she walked away from the cave. "No-brains!"

Wintertail stretched her wings. "I can't fly yet..." She tweeted. "I'm gonna play with Brightfeather now."

Lighttail put a gentle wing on her mother. "I know..." She said gently. "I've been watching over all of you sience I died..." she said gently

Pinetail growled and continued to wrestle Darkheart.

Leapheart sat down and listened to the fighting birds as she grumbled about insolent fledglings.

Snowheart's spirit stretched her star-dappled wings. "Come on." She tweeted. "Let's go."

Sandfeather decided to try something. She managed to angle the few flight feathers on her wing so that they formed a more uniform surface and were closer together. She then beat her wings in a blur, managing to lift a centimeter and stayed in the air for two seconds.

For Sandfeather, that was pretty high, as she couldn't jump. She chirped excitedly, though her wings were tired.

Shadefeather kicked Silverfeather. "Let's sneak out and go to the top of the Tree Of Feathers."

"Welcome Snowheart...Welcome to cloudflock." she said with a smile and flew up with her mother into the sky. She looked down and saw Leapheart and Pinetail and Darkheart. "You know...He can't stop himself. He's not just a living bird you know." she said looking down sadly at the birds below.

Pinetail continued to attack the red haze still blocking his judgement.

"I thought he would be on my side. Why did they have to take me away from my Flock?" Muttered Snowheart.

Leapheart buried her head in the sand like an ostrich. She was sick and tired and annoyed with Pinetail and Darkheart.

Sandtail tried to get herself back in the air, but she had little stamina at the moment, and her wings were tired. So, she looked for more spiders.

Wintertail dashed around the clearing in circles trying to fly.

Lighttail stopped and turned to her mother. "Snowheart...they can't control it, and neither can we...death is just a part of life mother. It's as natural as breathing. They didn't take you away from your flock. Rather they brought you to your eturnal one. Think of it as your time alive is a temporary home. A temporary stay with the flock. Do you see?" she asked her eyes glowing with wisdom and understanding and deep sadness.

Pinetail huffed and continued his attack.
