Frostkit lay half frozen in the blizzard, dead if not dying. Her whiskers were speckled with frost. She shuddered, wailing and crying for her mother. Her breath was fog in the chilly air.

The young tom yawned, already growing bored of that. He searched for someone fun to pick on, maybe that'd take his mind off things. Frostkit would be an excellent candidate... But where is she? he asked himself, searching the entire place with his eyes. It's her loss... Oh, but I'd never be able to live with myself... Come on, warrior up! "Hey, Nightwing, have you seen Frostkit?" he asked with what sounded like a genuine hint of worry in his voice. He silently cursed himself for that.
