Jinx watched the female walk away, and took a step towards following her. It was a bad idea. This female had walked away for a reason. She turned to look at the male again, the blue in her left eye glinting in the sun. As he spoke, she listened carefully. "What do you expect from a stranger? I thought I was the only one alive and now here, just suddenly turning up out of the blue, are some dogs. What's a loner to do?" Jinx snapped, her hackles rising and fur bristling. Her ears were pinned and her legs spread in case the male lunged, but so far he seemed like no threat. Better safe than sorry... she thought.

The border collie's eyes narrowed. Her ear shoved forward now, as she was ready to fight. This dog asked too many questions. She barely knew him and already he was asking so many questions. "Why do you ask so many questions? Why do you even care who I am?" Jinx snarled taking a threatening and intimidating step forward. She glared at this other dog. He had no right.

Jinx snarled back, getting in his face to where she could feel his breath on the ridge of her muzzle. Her eyes were locked on his, and filled with grief, anger, and confusion. "I care for no one, huh? I cared for someone once and I lost him! Now get out of my way before I make you!" She barked, her saliva flying onto his face. Just a drop, and she didn't even feel bad. Just a moment later, feeling that he was taking to long, Jinx snapped, her teeth digging into his muzzle and keeping it shut. She said too much, now she would make him keep it to himself. Even if it meant hurting him

She flipped him onto his back and stood over him, but made now more moves. Her chest heaved and her eyes were still cold, but no longer hard and emotional. Now they were just stone cold. She wasn't ashamed for what she had done. Just a little scared of her own strength. She stepped off the male and looked at the other, larger, stronger male behind him. "And what are you going to do, mutt?" Jinx murmured. She stared at the male, challenging him but subtly with her ears and tail, not eyes.

Jinx paused, but only for a moment. Her tail was still high but her ears went back. Helios would not approve of her doings. He was a peace maker, not violent. But she had to finish what she started. This was a battle she started, and while she wasn't clear of how it would end, but it would. "Not my alpha. I'm a free dog, mutt." She growled, making no move to fight but allowing a growl to rise from her throat.
