Shadowpaw was walking around camp when she saw Brightpool leave. "Brightpool? Where are you going?" she asked, but she didn't answer. Shadowpaw chased after Brightpool until she saw her faint. "Brightpool!" she yelled. She went up to her to find a dead kit in front of her. She was speechless. "Help!" she yelled.

[~Just Jump It~]

Bright pool drowsily woke up from her faint. Seeing the dead kit again, she closed her eyes and let a tear escape. She Nuzzled the still warm fur. " She had so long to live...." She whispered sadly.

Foxstorm heard a distant yell of help. He padded quickly over to it, only to see Brightpool and Shadowpaw hovering over a kit. As he looked closer at the kit, he noticed it was Speckledkit. "W-what's going on here, Brightpool? What happened?" he said, shocked.

[chupacabras]

Moonsong walked into the nursery carrying some borage leaves, as she had been worried about Brightpool. Where did she go? she wondered, just as a scream split the air. Rushing to the scene, borage still clutched in her mouth, she found Shadowpaw, Brightpool, and Foxstorm all looking at the body of Speckledkit. "What? Who did this?" She asked.

"We don't know yet, Moonsong. All I know is that I heard a scream of help from Shadowpaw and I found these two near the kit. I really doubt Brightpool or Shadowpaw would do this. But it's always possible." Foxstorm sighed.

[~Just Jump It~]

" She was murdered...." Replied Bright pool, shocked. She began to shake. Her round stomach was full of kits. This was horrible. " Who would do this?" She whispered, terrified and sad at the same time.

"I'm not sure, Brightpool. But we'll find out, don't worry. You and your soon-to-be kits will be safe, all right?" Foxstorm gently brushed his tail over Brightpool's shoulder.

[~Just Jump It~]

She looked at him trustingly. She was still scared but was more relaxed. She trembled before licking the kit for the last time. " We need to bring him back to camp." She said shakily.

"Brightpool, you need to go rest. You could harm your kits if you get too upset." Moonsong mewed, gently leading the queen back to the nursery and bringing thyme and poppy seeds. "Now go to sleep. I'll make sure Speckledkit is brought back."
