It was a peaceful day and Angelheart was hunting in the forest, she hid in a clump of ferns ready to spring upon a squirrel when she felt a cat land on her back. Before she could react sharp claws pinned her to the ground. She tried to let out a warning screech but her throat was already slit. The killer slunk away into the forest leaving Angelheart bleeding to death on the forest floor. The hunter had become the hunted.

Tumblepaw was feeling very lonely, as usual. Not many talked to her, and those that did were shut out by her shy personality. So, as usual, she had abandoned any attempts to make friends and had spent the morning wandering around the forest, her thoughts occupied by strange thoughts. She didn't notice Angelheart's body until she tripped over it, and she let out a horrified screech. She stumbled backwards, flattening herself against a tree as far as she could go to get away from the limp form. "A- Angelheart!" she gasped, stammering with fright. Her eyes were wide as she stared at the limp she-cat.

Icepaw heard a yowl and got up yawning, what was wrong now! she thought, annoyed that she had been woken up. She padded over and saw Tumblepaw, "What are you, AHHHHH!" she screeched as she slipped in a puddle of blood and landed face to face with a glassy eyed Angelheart.

"What's wrong?" I questioned until she stepped into a pile of blood "A-Angelhearts... dead!" I exclaimed with a roar so mighty everycat from the fourtrees to here could hear.

Tumblepaw looked up as Icepaw appeared, terror shown clear in her blue eyes. "I-Icep- Icepaw!" she stammered, gingerly stepping over to her fellow Apprentice. She pushed her head under Icepaw's stomach and helped lift her back up, whimpering under her breath as she did so. Yet, as Wildpath appeared and let out a roar, Tumblepaw gave a squeak of terror and hastily moved back, ears flat against her skull.
