Max slowly walked up to the front of the school, a shakey breath escaping her lips. Grasping at her backpack strap she glanced at Jace, the grand white raven that sit perched perfectly on her shoulder. "You ready buddy?" She asks him, clearly not ready herself. Jace flutters his wings in a calming gesture, trying to reasure Max. She sighs and nods knowing hes right. She sits on the front steps of the school, kicking a nearby rock that did nothing to her. "What do you think a monster school will be like? Are they all running around in their other forms?" She looks at Jace worried, but he seems to just roll his eyes. With a sigh she looks around the school grounds, searching for signs of life.

He took his uninjured arm out of his pocket, took out one earbud, and held his hand out to her.

Im Max, and this is Jace." She pats her bird on his small head, his eyes not leaving Basil. "Dont mind him, hes harmless. Just a little scared of new people." She glances at the ground before looking back up at Basil, glad that he looked normal like her. "Yeah, Im new. I just got here today." She nervously looks back up to the schools front doors, still scared to find out whats behind them. "So whats it like here?" She glances at Basil, clealry worried
