Scott sat up the second he heard the word "play". "Why not!" He bounced around excitedly in his crate making the maple smell come into full force. "We'll have lots of fun!" He ran around in little excited circles in his crate.

Arlo shuffled around in the metal crate. He peered through the bars of the crate and saw a human taking him into a building. He whined with unease as they walked through the door. He caught the scents of other animals everywhere. This was much different than the street side that he had been born on. His crate was placed on the floor, as the staff worker and the person who brought him in talked. After they finished he was brought into a cage by one of the staff. He was terrified, he whined and yipped in the corner of his cage.

"well scott you can trust me and im very sorry to hear that pumpkin" rory said softly looking at pumpkin.
"well I guess we could play a game" he said to them both.

"what should we play?" he asked

"Well I can't play much of anything while I'm in here." He scratched and the cage door, "But it is pretty comfy." Scott thought about a way they could roam around and play for longer than just play time... "How about we ask the welcome dog to let us play for long?"

"We could always play chase!" She exclaimed, "Welcome dog? There's a welcome dog here?" She asked, "I never met any welcome dog, but I did mee-..." The pup was cut off by the sound of soft yipping...It sounded a LOT like her own. Her head tilted to the left, before the easily distracted pup hopped towards the source of the sound. Finding a pup, her age, that looked an awful lot like her as well. "Hi there! I'm Pumpkin, what's your name? Are you a puppy too? Do you wanna play with me? Where's your momma? Are you new here? I'm new here too!" She was almost out of breath as she was speaking quite fast, she was just overjoyed to have someone her size. The three legged little ball of fluff hopped closer to the crate, nearly losing balance before she bowed playfully. Wagging her bottom.

He pawed at scotts cage till it opend.
"yea there a welcome dog here pumpkin her names bee but ive never really met her before" he told pumpkin and scott.
he turned his attention to pumpkin "whos this pumpkin a new person?" he asked her.

Arlo turned his head to hear sudden barks that were directed toward him. The barks were coming from a pup just like him, only female, "Hi there! I'm Pumpkin, what's your name? Are you a puppy too? Do you wanna play with me? Where's your momma? Are you new here? I'm new here too!" Pumpkin barked excited, she took a moment to catch her breath. The dog had only three legs, but didn't seem to mind as she wagged her tail. Arlo hesitantly walked up to Pumpkin "I'm Arlo..." He whispered, he started again, thinking about all her questions "Yea, Imma puppy. I don't know where my momma went. Yes, I'm new here... and.. sure, I'll play!" He finished with a wag of his tail.

"welcome Arlo im Rory welcome to the shelter" he told the small dog.
"the rules are be good dont fight but you can argue and yadda yadda" he rambled on about the rules to him then stopped him self.
"so pumpkin are you ready?" he said as he statted to chase after pumpkin.

She giggled, "That's a cool name! I like that name. Do you wanna play chase with me? We gotta find a way to get you out of that cage first..." She looked around for anyone to help, before bounding back to Rory, "Rory, can you let my new friend out? Pleeeease? He's gonna play with us!"

Scott stepped out of his cage, "Let me see if I can help." He made his way to the cage dragging his maple scent with and behind him. He grabbed the cage latch sideways in his mouth and pulled to the left. He then put his paw on the door and pulled it with it, "There, free you go."
