weeeeeeeeeeeeell am i glad you asked! sit yoself down, because christmas is my family's favorite holiday and we do it right, son.
our christmas actually starts on christmas eve, when we wake up and stay excited all day because *santa is coming tomorrow and we get to celebrate more tonight and aaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAA*
our celebration starts at supper time, when we eat some sort of special meal (last year was all fondue, year before that was summer sausage and cheese) and listen to christmas songs. the littler kids usually finish eating first and wait for the adults (+ me!) to clean the kitchen and for mom to set up her photography equipment. she takes pictures of us as we unwrap gifts (3 for each of the 4 of us on christmas eve, sometimes more if relatives get us anything). we enjoy our gifts for a while, then head off to bed.
we stay up all night (you can tell because occasionally you'll hear a thump, and laugh because lol you just revealed that you're still up, doofus). around 3:00 in the morning, we start trying to peek at gifts by pretending to 'go to the bathroom'. we have to wait until 6:00 to actually get up. once the clock hits 6:00 exactly, my 3 younger siblings stampede into the living room and start opening their things. i wait to get up until 6:30. we spend time opening and appreciating everything that we get, and then eat traditional
BREAKFAST ENCHILADAS!!!
after eating and playing with gifts for a while, we get dressed and head off to my great-grandmother's house for christmas dinner, where we stay for a while. we head home after hours and head off to bed.
