We celebrate it on the 24th where I'm from. We wake up on the 24th and eat breakfast together, then we play cards and other games during the day. We'll eat great homemade food at about 6pm, then eat dessert which is called risalamande - it's basically white rice pudding with cream, then warm cherry sauce on top. There'll be a whole almond in one of the servings, and the one with it will win a small gift
This is usually a Jackpot scratch card and a candy bar as well as a receipt showing that a certain amount of money has been spent on a charity event such as donating money to animal shelters etc We then dance around the christmas tree and sing a few songs. When we're done, we sit in a horseshoe form near the tree and the youngest family member gets to take a gift from underneath the tree - whoever's name is on the gift opens it, shows, then picks a random one from underneath the tree which is then given to the person it belongs to and it continues like that until there's no more gifts left
We then sit together at the dining table and play 2 games - One called the Candlelight Game and one called the Candy Thief
The Candelight Game is simple and not an active game - every person has the same sort of candle in a candle holder, and they're all lit at the same time. The person's candle who burns down the fastest wins a gift similar to the Risalamande gift mentioned above 
The Candy Thief is played while we wait for our candlelights to burn down
We all sit around the table with a huge dish of candy on it as well as 2 dices. First person will roll the dices, and if they get a Six, they're allowed to take 5 pieces of candy from the dish, and roll again. As soon as the person does not roll a Six, the dices will pass on to the next person and the game will continue like that. Once the dish is empty, and someone rolls a Six, they're allowed to steal 2 pieces of candy from another person I usually go for the Dumle caramels 
Once we're all tired, which is usually around 2-3am, we all go to bed.. then on the 25th it's time to clean
