It has been many years since the lands of this planet have given birth to sapient creatures and it is now time for villages that will provide safety for their members to be made. In the end, only the best can survive and thrive. Will your village be the one to show others the way, or will your village be doomed to be lost forever in the uncivilized lands of this planet?

How to Play

Postby amethyst14 » Sun Jul 01, 2018 5:07 am

๐‡๐จ๐ฐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ

Starting Off
If it's your first time posting, you must tell me the name of your village and give a brief description. You can describe things like your village's nature, reputation, territory, the people's personalities, and the species that can join. I will then quote your post with a description of your first head chief, who will be the foundation of your village. You can decide on their name, age, and gender.

Important Note: If you donโ€™t specify what species can join your village (ex: human, faerie, shapeshifter, etc.), your mod will assume that only humans will join your village. If you donโ€™t specify what skin color and/or eye color link you prefer to use, your mod will use all the possible colors available.
Looks
Your mod will post a description of what your person looks like, which will include their skin tone, hairstyle and color, and eye color. If your village is more fantasy-based, your mod will specify their species as well. You may use a character creator or a picture if you wish, but they must follow the description given to you. You must also link to their official description or add it to your posts else they will not be able to have children. Your mod will also tell you if your character is infertile or fertile, meaning if they can have children or not.

Your mod will give you a description with acronyms and will look like this:
ST (skin tone) / HS (hairstyle) / HC (hair color) / EC (eye color) / XY(fertility, Y means no) / species
Getting More People
Your village will start off small and will have to build up its population. You have several ways of getting people: patrols, having your head chief request a new person, trades, and births. Your head chief can only ask for a new member once a week; if your head chief asks for a new person on Monday, you will have to wait until next Monday before they can request another person. You may trade and receive a maximum of five people per your mod's post. Getting people through births will be explained later. When you receive a person through a patrol, birth, or request, your mod will give you their description but you will be able to decide on their name, age, and gender.

You can request a person from the ancestors once a week. You can request a certain role and occasionally you can request specific traits. You can also request a set of twins, however, you will forfeit your next week's request. The twins also have to be either apprentice, tester or children.
Patrolling
There are four types of patrols: hunting, gathering, border, and scouting patrols. You can send up to six people per patrol although there is no limit on the amount of patrols you can send out. On hunting and gathering patrols, your people can catch prey or find food to eat. On border patrols, you can find new people (nomads), dangerous animals, and items and materials. On scouting patrols, you can find skilled animals, dangerous animals, nomadic groups who may wish to fight, and the head chiefs of rival villages.

You may not have patrols dedicated to finding seeds; they will be found on normal gathering patrols or not at all.
Border and Scouting Patrols
Border patrols are undertaken by warriors within your villageโ€™s territory. As they know the territory quite well, there is little chance of them dying while out on patrol. However, they can get injured and if they run into a dangerous animal, die. Scouting patrols are undertaken by scouts outside your villageโ€™s territory. Due to this, there is a risk of them dying and if they find a hostile nomadic group, may wish to bring warriors along for their safety.

Healing & Herbs
There are no herbs in CAV as instead, your shamans will have knowledge points (KP). There are two ways to earn KP: you write that "[name] researches medicine" or they gain KP through experience. The more KP a shaman has, the more people they can heal at once. A shaman can heal one person for every ten KP they have. In addition, a shaman will require a certain amount of KP to heal certain injuries and illnesses.

    1-10: 1 person
    11-20: 2 people
    21-30: 3 people
    31-40: 4 people
    41-50: 5 people
    etc.

Marketplace
The marketplace is where your villagers can sell or trade their goods to other villages at the marketplace. In order to do this you will have to post your villagers traveling to the marketplace, they will stay there until you post them returning to your village. The villagers at the marketplace cannot be used for any other patrols or activities while they are away. You can send a max of 15 people to the marketplace, however they will still count toward your servings needed for every post and that means you will have to keep things going back home or your villagers will starve. (Even if they are at the market)

When you post your villagers returning you will have to wait until you mod posts their return! This can be anywhere from 1 post to 4 posts! The larger the party that is returning the longer it will take for them to return.

Your villagers will also need to use bag items to help them carry things to and from the market. If your villager does not have a bag item to use they are allowed to carry a single item to and from the market. This does not only apply to trips to the market but trips back as well.

Food
Your first five posts are your village's fasting days. During this period, your village will consume no servings and can spend time gathering and/or hunting for your village. From the sixth post and onward, you will have to provide the correct amount of servings for your village or else your villagers, starting with the youngest members, will starve. If you enter the starvation mode, you will have to keep your villagers from starving for three more posts to recover or else they will still die.

Hunting: Your hunters can go out and capture prey, bringing meat back for your village. The number of prey caught depends on how many hunters there are and the season it is. 1-2 hunters will have a span of 0-3 prey, 3-4 hunters will have a span of 1-4 prey, and 5-6 hunters will have a span of 2-5 prey.

Gathering: Your gatherers can go out and find fruits and vegetables. The amount of food found depends on how many gatherers there are and the season it is. 1-2 gatherers will have a span of 0-8 serving amount, 3-4 gatherers will have a span of 1-9 serving amount, and 5-6 gatherers will have a span of 2-10 serving amount.

Farming: The only way to get a farm going is with seeds. To plant a seed, post a gatherer tilling the soil (with or without a cow/ox) and planting the seed. After two posts, you will get a certain amount of items from the crop depending on the season. Crops also have a wilting chance but no crop last more than 3 yielding turns. You can only have a maximum of 3 seeds planted at any given time. During the spring and fall, there is the danger of migrating bird flicks stealing your crops. In this case, your crops will yield 1/2 of the items they otherwise would have produced and will not yield seeds. You cannot post for people looking for seeds! The only way for people to get them is by a chance drop from gathering! You can send birds out to look for seeds though.

You must specify what animals, fruits, and vegetables you will be using. If you need help with the serving size just put in your first description about your village the kinds of food they will be hunting and gathering and the owners will list the serving size for you.

    Meats
Small mammals, birds, and fish - 1 serving
Medium mammals, birds, and fish - 3 servings
Large mammals, birds, and fish - 6 servings
Extra-large mammals, birds, and fish - 10 servings

    Vegetables
    Small Vegetables - 2 servings
    Medium Vegetables - 3 servings
    Large Vegetables - 4 servings
Extra Large Vegetables - 5 servings

    Fruits
    Small Fruits - 1 serving
    Medium Fruits - 2 servings
    Large Fruits - 3 servings
Extra Large Fruits - 4 servings

    Servings
Ages 0-5 will not need a serving.
Ages 6-20 will need ยฝ a serving.
Ages 21+ will need one serving.
Mentors & Training
You will be the one to assign mentors to apprentices. Before an apprentice is allowed to rank up, they must have completed at least four training sessions, these will be point systemed like the shaman, and be at least 18 years old. Your apprentice learns a new skill during each training session.

Classes: If you have 3+ apprentices in the same profession you can do a class. However just like in real classes your apprentices might have a chance to learn faster or not learn much at all. There is a small chance that an apprentice can gain 2 learning points in a single class, but there is also a chance that an apprentice wonโ€™t learn anything.
Aging & Death
You must age your villagers up by one year every post you make. For example, a warrior who was 25 years old in one post must be 26 years in the next post. There are six ways for people to die in this game: being stillborn, through old age, being attacked by a dangerous animal or person, during the birthing process, starvation, and not having injuries/illnesses treated within three posts of the original injury/illness.
Alliances & Enemies
If you meet a neighboring village while on patrol, you can choose to become their ally or enemy.

Ally villages usually act friendly towards each other and resolve disputes without fighting. You can also marry people into an ally village and the owners of the two villages will decide who moves. If your village is under attack by an enemy, your ally can defend your village which will lessen the chance of your people dying or being captured.

Enemy villages usually act hostile towards each other and often argue and fight. You can send out raiding parties of four people minimum and raid enemy villages to steal children, testers, learners, elders, skilled animals and food. The only way a village can get them back is through negotiations or through raids. Attacks can prove fatal to both sides and there will often be people injured or killed during raids.
Families & Forbidden Relationships
Without children, your village would struggle to thrive. You can either post two people getting married or trying for children and your moderator will time-skip to the female finding out that she is expecting in the next post. If you wish for the female to not have children yet or to have another child, make sure to tell your moderator in the post. The expecting mother will then give birth in two posts, yes I know it's two years but this is a game.

Forbidden romances are romantic relationships with either a shaman or a person from another village. If a relationship results in children, the female will have to find a male willing to cover up as the father and if the village finds out about the romance, the parent(s) and/or children may be exiled.
Skilled Animals
There are many types of skilled animals that can help with various tasks in your village. When they reach the minimum death age, they have a 20% chance of dying each post you make. When they reach the maximum death age, they will die in the next reply. In addition, they require food to survive. For every skilled animal you have, your village will consume ยผ extra servings. In addition, cats, dogs, dragons, and fire-lizards require meat to survive while cows/oxen and horses need fruits and vegetables to survive. Birds and foxes can eat either meat or fruits and vegetables.

Bird: Birds help your gatherers find seeds but when you send one out, have a 25% chance of not coming back. They can live to be 15-20 years.

Cat: Cats keep the pest population down and reduce the risk of your villagers getting sick by 5% for each cat. Cats have a 30% chance of catching 1-4 mice per post, which equals to ยผ serving per mouse. They can live to be 10-15 years.

Cow/Ox: Cows and oxen increase the chance of more items coming from your planted crops by 30% and can be killed for meat and leather. They can live to be 18-22 years.

Dog: Dogs help your scouts fight dangerous animals and will reduce the chance of an injury by 30% and will reduce the chance of a death by 50%. They can live to be 10-13 years.

Dragon: Dragons grant your hunters a 20% chance of catching an extra piece of prey and help your scouts fight dangerous animals by reducing the chance of an injury by 30% and reducing the chance of a death by 50%. They require a special stone to breathe an element and must have a handler from birth or else they will die. European dragons have a 5% chance to run away when sent out on patrols while Eastern dragons and Pernese dragons are bonded to their handler for life. Dragons can only have one handler during their lifetime and will die when their handler dies. Villages can specify if they wish to receive a specific type of dragon.

Fire-Lizard: Fire-lizards are small dragons the size of an Earth hawk at the largest and have a 10% chance of finding an item when sent out on border patrols. Without a handler, they have a 20% chance of running away when sent out on border patrols. They can live to be 20-25 years.

Fox: Foxes grant your hunters a 20% chance of catching an extra piece of prey. They can live to be 5-7 years.

Horse: Horses grant your hunters a 20% chance of catching an extra piece of prey and help your scouts fight dangerous animals and will reduce the chance of an injury by 30% and the chance of a death by 50%. Horses also reduce the amount your villagers market travel time by 10% each horse. They can live to be 25-30 years.

Skilled animals can breed twice in their lifetimes. Cats and dogs will yield 2-6 young, cows, oxen and horses will yield 1-2 young, birds will yield 2-5 eggs that have a 5% chance each of not hatching, and dragons and fire-lizards will yield 5-10 eggs that have a 5% chance each of not hatching
Seasons
Each season will last a month. When your mod replies to your post, they will write what season it is which will ultimately affect how things will go for you.

Spring: During spring, birthings will be smooth and the chances of mothers or children dying during birth will drop dramatically. There is also a higher chance of catching more prey or finding new people and skilled animals looking for shelter, and the odds of sickness will drop.

Summer: During summer, your villagers will likely catch even more prey and the odds of deaths during births will continue to drop.

Fall: During fall, birthings will be difficult and the chances of mothers or children dying during birth will rise dramatically without the help of a skilled shaman. There is also a lessened chance of catching more prey or finding new people and skilled animals and the odds of sickness will rise.

Winter: During winter, your villagers will likely catch even less prey and the odds of deaths during births will continue to rise. In addition, they are far more prone to catching sickness and are more likely to die from even a mild cold if not taken care of properly.

Scouts: Scouts patrol the borders and will often find skilled animals, nomads, or threats to the village.

Hunting chief: The hunting chief organizes hunting parties and reports to the head chief on what they find.

Hunters: Hunters hunt for the village.

Gatherers: Gatherers look for fruits and vegetables and when they have seeds, will often start a farm near their village. They are overseen by the head chief.

Testers: Testers will spend a year helping every chief, sometimes including the shaman, and then decide which job they wish to pursue. They are often between the ages of 8-12 years.

Mothers: Mothers are women currently caring for children. They can have between one and four children, with one being common and four being very rare, at a time and can try for another child when their first child(ren) turn five years of age. They are often between the ages of 21-50 years.

Children: Children are villagers between the ages of 1-7 years.

Elders: Elders are villagers who have retired due to being too old or infirm to continue their job. They, along with the chiefs, and shaman make up the head chief's council.

Adoption Center

Postby amethyst14 » Sun Jul 01, 2018 5:09 am

๐€๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐‚๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ

While your village is growing, you may not have enough time to care for children from infancy. Have no fear! The adoption center finds lost or abandoned children and will give them to villages looking for learners or apprentices. However, there are some rules that everyone must follow.

Rules
    1. In order to be eligible to adopt, a village must have at least one person in every profession (warrior, scout, hunter, and gatherer, or their equivalents) and at least one eligible partnership that has been registered. This partnership can be heterosexual, homosexual, and/or polygamous.
    2. A village can adopt one child once every two weeks or one pair of twins once every month. Villages found to be breaking this rule will not be allowed to adopt for one extra week per attempt.
