Lotusstar's stomach was fairly swollen by now, but it was time to make a request of the spirits.

As she trudged through the forest (which was showing more signs of green life than ever before), Lotusstar worried
over which spirit she should talk to. On the one paw, Phoenix represented goodness and new life. On the other,
Phoenix had also set her up to lose some very important aspects of her mind, her very being. Banshee had warned
Phoenix, and even though Lotusstar had that underlying fear that she couldn't trust Banshee either, at least
Banshee had told her the truth.

But Banshee also represented the darkness that lied in cat's hearts. But then, from what Phoenix had done,
even she, the leader of the pure souls, had some darkness.

Honestly, Lotusstar had wondered if she just shouldn't ask for any cat at all this moon, but she didn't want to
have to wait another seven moons, and Fuzzribbon's kits were due to become apprentices soon, and she would be
giving birth sometime next moon. There were barely enough warriors in the clan to cover every kit, and unless
one of them showed interest in the medicine den soon, Lotusstar might end up needing to ask for a new medicine
cat too.

But Cherrydroplet still had quite a bit of life in her, and there was still a chance that one of Fuzzribbon's kits, or
even one of Lotusstar's own would show interest in the medicine den, so she would wait until the next
requesting time to ask that of the Souls.

Thinking back on the two new warriors who had joined Phoenixclan, the two weren't related, though they certainly
could pass for it. Silvermist was older, and had a strangely bobbed tail. Lotusstar assumed it was something that
some cats were just born with, like Floppyears and her litters...well...ears.

Stella was the younger one, and had refused to give up her old name. Lotusstar had seen no reason to force her
to take on a name she would never use, so Stella had remained as Stella.

Lotusstar reached the clearing, and eased herself down to rest for a bit, breathing heavily.

She knew she had to ask one of the souls for a warrior, there were simply too many kits (either born or unborn) to
not, otherwise the clan would be full of training, but no patrolling or hunting would be done. She herself was
out of commission, at least until her kits were old enough to eat solid food. The need for a warrior was great.

But...which soul to ask for one.

Phoenix had loyally provided cats, but she had given Lotusstar her lives, the lives with all the things that she
valued, soon to lose until she died.

Banshee led the evil souls, the darkest of cats. But, she had warned Lotusstar about Phoenix.

And...Phoenix HAD told Lotusstar she could ask her requests of either of the two leaders.

If nothing else, Lotusstar could at least...try it.

"Banshee?" she called into the wind. "Banshee, I have need of you."

The cats of WhisperClan live in a secluded cave on a cliff face, hidden away behind a sparkling waterfall that empties out into the ocean below. Surrounded by seemingly endless forests, WhisperClan is a rather reserved group of cats, used to their alone time. They often get agitated or defensive when others are around, including guests and newcomers, and won't hesitate to let them know when they've had enough.

Greenleaf - In the warmer moons WhisperClan spend their days by the waters edge, often swimming and fishing. If there are any kits aged three moons or older in the nursery at this time, they are allowed to be carried down to the waters edge and play in the tide pools.
Leaffall - In Leaffall the entire forest is full of different shades of orange and red. The waters start to become colder so most hunting is done among the trees. Prey and herbs are stocked up, and apprentices are encouraged to try and complete their warrior training.
Leafbare - As the snow starts to fall and the winds pick up, it is recommended most cats stay inside the cave as the cliffs are covered in frost and are often too dangerous to climb. Only senior warriors will be sent out for necessary patrols and such. Apprentices and kits are forbidden to leave camp.
Newleaf - In newleaf as it starts to warm up, apprentices are able to commence training and cats will spend their time hunting for all the prey returning in the forest. While the rain continues to fall no one may journey down to the beach in case of high tides or even potential floods.

Looks - Cats of WhisperClan are often dark in colour, such as browns, blacks, greys, etc. and have tabby or mottled markings to help them blend in with the trees and stone. Any light-furred cats are usually excluded from patrols and hunting as their fur lights up like silverpelt in the sunlight, but are often sent out on fishing trips instead.

The two cats have organized a patrol so they could scan the border. Rainstar had told Vipereyes that they needed to be on the lookout for a certain cat that could treat wounds and cure diseases. Vipereyes felt a sense of hope the first time that he told her of such a concept. When she lived in the forest with her mother, a disease or infection would be considered a death sentence. They would both try to prevent getting injuries, being wary of other cats incase they atacked and only walking on terrain that was fully flat. Despite their precautions, she died... Hearing paw steps coming from the border snapped her back into reality. "Rainstar, look" she whispered, giving him a small nudge. There was a grey tabby cat on the other side of the border. He seemed to be looking for something. They continued staring until the stranger spoke up; "Do you know where I can find any borage leaves?" Vipereyes saw Rainstar's eyes light up once the words borage leaves were spoken, this must be their medicine cat. "Sure, I know where there might be some, follow me" said Rainstar.

He knew for a fact that the medicine den was completely empty of herbs but he was glad that he was able to lure the cat into the clan. When they got to the den, Rainstar went inside and pretended to paw around for herbs. "Oh, there arent any here" Rainstar concluded. He didnt seem fazed by what Rainstar said, instead he peeked inside the den, fascinated. "Can I step inside?" he asked. The leader gave him a nod. Suddenly he could see Vipereyes running towards him " I dont think he's the one" she said between pants. He followed the she cat to the border where another cat was, this one with white fur and dark patches. Her mouth was absolutely full of herbs. "Hello" said Rainstar. The she cat dropped all of her herbs on to the floor. "Have you seen my friend anywhere?" her breath was so fresh and sharp, it almost made him flinch. "I think I might know, follow me" The she cat gave a worried glance at her herbs. "My partner and I can help carry those" said Rainstar. When they took her to the den, she gave it a sniff. "Wait, have there been any viruses around recently? Who's sick?" she asked, concerned. Rainstar dropped his herbs in surprise. "That was moons ago, there was an outbreak of greencough in my clan.." said Rainstar. "Your friend should be inside" he added.

Stripe was staring in awe at the den, it had some spaces to store things and a few nests. When he and Coal travelled together, they would often help cats who were sick; he'd rush off to find fresh kill and nesting material and she'd go look for herbs. In this kind of set-up, maybe they would be able to care for them more efficiently. Stripe started to smell a familiar scent, when he turned around he saw a dark face "Coal, do you remember when we talked about having a place to settle down?" "I know exactly what you mean, these cats need us, theyve lost so many clan members already" she replied. The two of them asked the cat with the orange patches. The cat looked at Coal and then looked at him. "Why were you carrying all those herbs?" he asked Coal. "I was gathering supplies" "For what exactly?" he asked. "Incase I saw anyone who needed treating" she replied. "The only thing left that she needed was some borage leaves, but we couldnt find any" Stripe added. "Can you both hunt?" he asked. "I hunt for the both of us" Stripe said proudly. After that conversation was had, the cat gave them the names Wildstripe and Coalsmudge and just like that they became members of Quakeclan.

Eclipseclan is a clan for those who value order and structure. You see, unlike most clans, Eclipseclan sorts its members into four factions. Once every twelve moons, four cats are randomly chosen from each faction, to fight in a battle to the death. The cats chosen must fit into the following criteria: not currently expecting or nursing kits, at least of training age (six moons), not one of the outside ranks. Once a cat is chosen, they cannot be pulled from the Tournament. The surviving cat becomes Victor, and acts as deputy until the next Tournament. When a new Victor is crowned, the old one returns to their former rank, and they may once again be chosen for Tournaments. If a cat younger than twelve moons wins, then they become the Victor's assistant, and replace them when they are old enough to fully take on the duties.

The four factions are as follows:
Valor - The strong ones
Scholar - The wise ones
Comity - The kind ones
Probity - The honest ones

When a kitten is six moons old, they take the Aptitude Test provided by the Therapist. The test determines which of the four factions a kitten would do well in, but the final decision belongs to the kit themselves. If a cat in training fails to complete their training, or drops out, for whatever reason, they are banished from the clan.

Eclipseclan lives in an abandoned factory on the edge of a bustling city. Most of their members are descended from (or formerly) kittypets, who left their humans to seek a better way of life. Behind the warehouse is a forest, where the Tournament is held. No cats are to enter the forest unless it is the moon of the Tournament, or to patrol it to make sure that there are no cats in it.

Each of the four factions lives in a different part of the factory, and the high ranks sleep wherever they please, though usually with their old faction

When a cat is moved to the high rank, they are no longer an official member of any faction. They instead are to lead without bias, though often that part is 'forgotten' and favor is shown to members of their old faction.
The five High Ranks are as follows:
Champion
The leader of Eclipseclan, granted nine lives, each life represents a trait that will be lost, in order, as the leader loses them. Champions are often known to be very cold and often insane by the time they reach their final life. Champions are often former Valor members.

Victor
The 'deputy' of the clan. Victors delegate tasks and ensure that training is being completed. When the Champion is on their final life, the Victor at any time may challenge the Champion to a battle to the death. If the Victor wins, they become the new Champion, if the Champion wins, the cat who was the Victor last steps up to take the title again until the next Tournament. These duels may not be held in the same moon as a Tournament, nor in the Choosing Moon (two moons before). Victors are often former Valor members. If a Victor is younger than twelve moons, they will become an assistant to the old victor, until they are at least thirteen moons.

Doctor
The healer of the clan. The Doctor makes sure everyone is healthy. They make train only one nurse at a time, but may have two nurses. When the Doctor dies, the most senior nurse becomes the new doctor. Doctors are often former Scholar members.

Nurse
Healer apprentices. There may be two at a time, but only one may be trained at a time. The senior nurse becomes the new doctor when the doctor dies. Nurses are often former Scholar members.

The Therapist is a cat who handles the Aptitude Test, Final Assessments, and oversees the Choosing Ceremony, which is held two moons before the Tournament (in order to give those chosen time to prepare). Therapists are typically former Comity or Probity members.

𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔭𝔬𝔴𝔢𝔯 𝔬𝔣 𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔶 𝔦𝔫 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔟𝔬𝔡𝔶 𝔬𝔣 𝔬𝔫𝔢

Cats who belong to Valor are usually the strongest physically. They value strength and courage. You'd be hard-pressed to find a traitor in Valor. Valor cats are often brash, loud, and very physically affectionate. Valor cats rarely choose a mate for life, instead preferring to have quick flings.

The Valor cats are split by Soldiers (the warriors) and Rookies (the apprentices). To become a Soldier, a Rookie must complete their training, which involves a lot of combat training. The Final Test requires a Rookie to battle the oldest member of Valor at the time, with the Therapist watching.

Valor cats sleep on the floor of the factory, spread out and ready to spring up and into battle in the event of an attack on the camp.

𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔴𝔦𝔰𝔡𝔬𝔪 𝔬𝔣 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔞𝔫𝔠𝔦𝔢𝔫𝔱 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯𝔰 𝔣𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔡 𝔦𝔫 𝔞 𝔰𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔩𝔢 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔡

Cats who belong to Scholar are often the smartest of the clan. They value intelligence and wisdom. Though these cats are the smartest, they aren't the strongest physically. Even though there is only one dedicated Doctor (and a maximum of two nurses) Scholar cats will often study medicine, simply to expand their knowledge. Scholar cats typically mate only to have kits, and as such mates-for-life are rarely found.

Scholar cats are split into Scientists (warriors) and Initiates (apprentices). To become a Scientist, an Initiate must spend their entire training period, alongside their necessary skills, researching something until they become an expert in it. Their Final Test requires an Initiate to give the Therapist a lecture on the thing they studied, and show the experiments they preformed.

Scholars sleep among the rusted machinery, as they have found ways to make some parts of the factory work still. They use these parts for their studies.

𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔨𝔦𝔫𝔡𝔫𝔢𝔰𝔰 𝔬𝔣 𝔞 𝔪𝔦𝔩𝔩𝔦𝔬𝔫 𝔥𝔢𝔞𝔯𝔱𝔰 𝔟𝔲𝔯𝔫𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔦𝔫 𝔞 𝔰𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔩𝔢 𝔰𝔬𝔲𝔩

Comity cats are the peacekeepers. The kindest cats often end up here. Comity values kindness and love. They often aren't very strong (or very smart) but they can turn worst enemies into best friends. Comity cats believe in true love, and so mates will often remain mates for so long as they both live, and typically have several litters with their chosen mate.

Comity members are split into Saviors (warriors) and Recruits (apprentices). To become a Savior, an Initiate must study the ways of kindness, and for their Final Test, have the Therapist oversee as they attempt to settle a mock dispute between two other Comity cats.

Those in Comity sleep up among the rafters, they sleep up high to avoid the tensions and struggles of the earth. Or at least that's what they say.

𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔱𝔯𝔲𝔱𝔥 𝔬𝔣 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯𝔰 𝔣𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔡 𝔦𝔫 𝔣𝔩𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱𝔩𝔢𝔰𝔰 𝔥𝔢𝔞𝔯𝔱𝔰

Probity cats are the most honest ones you will find. Some say Probity is the overflow faction, but they say that they are those who are not afraid to speak the truth. Probity sometimes harbors dissent for the other factions, but they see the truth of things and are not afraid to speak it.

The cats of Probity are split into Judges (warriors) and Novices (apprentices). For a Novice to become a Judge, they must purge the lies from their mouth. The Final Test in Probity requires a Novice (under the sight of the Therapist) to be told a (fake) secret by a cat they hold dear. If they tell the secret before the entirety of Probity, they pass.

Probity felines sleep on the second floor, though not on the rafters, as they prefer solidity underneath them.

A moon passed, and still Mothstar was alone. They had found the old TaigaClan camp, and patched up the old leader's den to sleep in. Mothstar had begun to lose hope.

But then she wandered into camp one rainy morning, a pretty tabico with the thick fluffy fur typical of any cat native to the taiga. She was soaked to the skin, and very clearly needed a safe place to dry off.

"I'm so sorry," she said, seeing Mothstar curled up in their den. "I didn't know there was somebody living here. I'll just keep looking.

"No, stay!" Mothstar replied, trying not to sound desperate. "You shouldn't be out in the rain when it's still so cold out. There's room in here for three or four cats, come dry off!" They scooted over to the side of the den to make room for the calico as she entered.

"My name's Petals, by the way." She began licking her fur in the wrong direction to dry herself off.

"I'm Mothstar. Nice to meet you!" Thunder rumbled quietly in the distance.

The calico paused her grooming to say, "That's a strange name."

Mothstar flicked their ears, amused. "Well 'Petals' sounds pretty strange to me. My name comes from a long tradition. Moth- means that I'm white and gray, like a moth. And -star means that I'm the leader."

"Leader of what?" Petals sputtered through a mouthful of fur.

"TaigaClan. Well, right now leader and only member." Quickly, Mothstar added, "That can change if you'd like to join though!"

Petals paused her grooming again, obviously deep in thought. "Can you tell me more about it? I'd like to know what I'd be getting into first."

So as the rain poured down, Mothstar told Petals about the original TaigaClan, how they'd been wiped out save for a single surviving queen. About the rank system, and about how all the cats in a Clan took care of each other. About StarClan, how your ancestors watched over you and at times even granted powers like 9 lives or supernatural abilities. About the warrior code. The rain had stopped long before Mothstar, but Petals still sat there, fascinated.

"So, are you interested?"

"Of course! How do I start?" The now-dry Petals leapt to her feet.

"Step outside," said Mothstar, "we're going to do a ceremony." The two cats exited the den, and then Mothstar climbed up onto one of the tree's branches. "I, Mothstar, leader of TaigaClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this cat. She has been brought here by fate, and I commend her to you as a warrior. Petals, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do," Petals replied confidently.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name." Petals isn't a proper name part, but her pelt reminds me of the white Alpine Yarrow with the dark centers. "Petals, from this moment you will be known as Yarrowseed. StarClan honors your trust and your curiosity, and I welcome you as a full warrior of TaigaClan." Mothstar jumped down to the ground, to stand beside Yarrowseed.

"So what should we do now?" asked Yarrowseed.

"We should go hunting. I can show you the borders while we do that." Assigning patrols is usually the deputy's job, Mothstar added mentally. Yarrowseed's too young and inexperienced for the role. Maybe I am too young to be leader too.
