for centuries, humans have pillaged and looted the earth, draining it of its natural resources. habitats are being burned
to the ground, animals are being hunted and poached, and it’s up to you to help stop this. you are tasked with building a
magnificent wildlife rescue, helping to protect the species of the world and past worlds. you must maintain these
rescues, giving its residents a chance at a new life. will you rise out on top as the most successful of them all, or
will you succumb to power and size of the greater groups?

Postby ghostmaker » Sat May 05, 2018 3:53 pm

starting off when starting off, you can tell me about your rescue! this includes things like the name, species found there, location, description, nature, reputation, etc. this will result in me giving you your director and very first rescue resident.

finding more workers to find more workers, you have many options. you can put up a 'hiring' sign, go to town to recruit workers, or promote volunteers. volunteers aren't something you can attract, but when going to town to buy food, materials, etc., you may run into someone eager to help! every week, you have the option of asking the board for a new worker OR animal.

finding more animals finding animals can be a risky job. animals like dogs, cats, hamsters, etc. are often abandoned at the rescues, illegally owned wild animals can be seized, rescue operations can be organized, you can come across animals on patrol, or animals can have offspring. when receiving a seized wild animal, they will often be left in crates outside of the rescue. you can either open these crates, or send them to the next rescue. rescue operations can be organized when the rescue is called by the board. these are often expensive, making rescue operations a rare way to find animals. every week, you have the option of asking the board for a new animal OR worker.

earning money you can earn money in many different ways. the most common one is donations/fundraisers. organizing fundraisers is possible every four years. your animals can also be bought by zoos, which earns you money. when starting your rescue, the board gifts you $100 to use.

expanding your rescue you can expand your rescue for a price! having a small rescue doesn't limit the number of animals you may rescue, but it limits the species you can rescue. by expanding, you can rescue a variety of new species. expansion can also appeal more zoos and workers, leading to more money and helping hands!

let me know if you wanted an animal not on here for your rescue, and i will tell you if it's okay!

species allowed for tier one rescues:
      - small wild cats such as sand cats, fishing cats, margays, etc.
      - smaller birds of prey like falcons
      - smaller birds like finches, woodpeckers, cardinals, etc.
      - smaller canines like red foxes, fennec foxes, arctic foxes, etc.
      - small equines like ponies & mini horses
      - smaller sea creatures like turtles, small fish, small stingrays, etc.

species allowed for tier two rescues:
      - more wild cats such as servals, caracals, ocelots, clouded leopards, etc.
      - more birds of prey such as kites, buzzards, ospreys, etc.
      - more birds like owls, crows, robins, penguins, etc.
      - more canines like arabian wolves, bigger foxes, etc.
      - more sea creatures like small porpoises, bigger stingrays, small sharks, etc.
      - more equines such as haflingers, arabians, etc.

species allowed for tier three rescues:
      - big cats like cheetahs, leopards, etc.
      - more birds of prey like hawks
      - more birds like jackdaws, roosters, chickens, etc.
      - more canines like indian wolves, ethiopian wolves, etc.
      - more sea creatures like dolphins, small whales, swordfish, etc.
      - more equines like paint horses & thoroughbreds

species allowed for tier four rescues:
      - all species of any animal type

food you'll need to feed both the workers and the animals, of course! you have two different sections for animal food & human food, but you only need to eat as many servings as your rescue needs, both together. for example, you may need 3 servings, so your rescue could eat x1 assorted fruits for humans, x1 meat chunk for animals, and x1 assorted veggies for animals. you may have up to six serving options for each section. 6 for human, and 6 for animal! there must be at least one of each serving size. when starting your rescue, you have 4 posts to stock up on food.

      required servings
      0-6 humans/animals; 2 servings
      7-13 humans/animals; 3 servings
      14-20 humans/animals; 4 servings
      21-27 humans/animals; 5 servings
      28-34 humans/animals; 6 servings
      35-41 humans/animals; 7 servings
      42-48 humans/animals; 8 servings
      49-55 humans/animals; 9 servings
      56-62 humans/animals; 10 servings
      63-69 humans/animals; 11 servings
      70-76 humans/animals; 12 servings
      and so on!

      human foods
      crackers - 1 serving
      protein/granola bar - 1 serving
      assorted fruits - 1 serving
      salad - 2 servings
      sandwich - 2 servings
      soup - 2 servings
      burrito - 2 servings
      steak - 3 servings
      chicken - 3 servings
      quinoa bowl - 3 servings
      pizza - 3 servings

      animal foods
      lettuce leaves - 1 serving
      apple chunks - 1 serving
      assorted veggies - 1 serving
small meat chunk - 1 serving
      fruit salad - 2 servings
      veggie salad - 2 servings
medium meat chunk - 2 servings
      turkey slab - 2 servings
      beef slab - 3 servings
      big fish - 3 servings
      hay bale - 3 servings
      fruit & veggie mix - 3 servings

patrolling you will need to patrol your rescue to ensure that no animals are poached/killed/injured! you can send workers on patrol every post, but don't one worker out on more than one patrol, or else they can get heatstroke or an illness! if you find a poacher on patrol, you must be careful. workers can be shot by poachers, and be injured or killed.

ranking up once a human reaches the age of 8, they are eligible to begin training to work with animals, whether it be in the vet clinic or out on the field. once they have learned what they need, they can become workers, as long as they are above the age of 14. when the director passes away/retires/is demoted, the assistant director takes over if they are eligible. if not, your rescue can speak with the board, who will send you a new director. for animals, all new animals become standards when they are taken in, unless they are; below the age of 2 years, pregnant/have nursing offspring, or above the age of 15 years.

medical care your workers and animals can become sick or injured! humans can become injured on patrols, run-ins with poachers, going on patrols too often, infection in wounds, trauma events, or being around a sick animal. animals can become sick by being exposed to a sick human or animal, mistreatment, poacher attacks, or prior medical conditions. a list of medicine for both can be found here. when you receive your doctor, you will receive five human medicines. when you receive your veterinarian, you will receive five veterinary medicines. when taking medicine, both workers and animals have a 2% chance to have their condition worsen, have an allergic reaction to the medicine, or develop more symptoms. if the animal or worker is untreatable by the rescue vet/doctor, you must pay to visit the hospital/veterinarian clinic. there is only a 5% chance of this happening, however.

aging/death every post, you must age your workers and animals up by 6 months. both workers and animals can die of starvation, illness, injury, old age, or they can be stillborn. workers reach old age at 65 years, and animals reach old age at however long their species lives.

conferences conferences occur every four weeks (real time). this is also when the season changes! at conferences, directors can bring a designated amount of workers, and the director will announce new rescue arrivals, possible expansions, etc. partners or competitors can be made here.

partnerships, competitors, or neutrals you can partner with another rescue by meeting the other director at a conference, in town, or at your rescue's borders. partnered rescues can trade medicine, food, and animals, but this can only happen at conferences. you also have the option to compete with another rescue. competing rescues often fight over workers, sabotage the opposing rescue, or steal resources. on extremely rare occasions, competing rescues will hire poachers to target the opposing rescue's animals. the last thing you can do is remain neutral, and have no contact whatsoever with other rescues.

becoming a couple when workers want to become a couple, you will state that they are in your actions. non heterosexual couples are gladly welcomed here, but they cannot have biological children!

becoming mates when animals want to become a couple. you will state that they want to in your actions. non heterosexual animals cannot have biological children, however.

having children when you want a worker or animal to have offspring, you state that the worker/animal and their partner go for a walk in the woods. your mod will reply with whether the female is pregnant or not. another option of having children is adopting, but this can be costly, and you may only adopt a max of one child per (real time) month.

forbidden romances both workers and animals can have their significant other/s in another rescue. this is often frowned upon, as the directors often want to keep relationships at work strictly professional.

spending money you can spend money at the town market, which is linked on the first post!

Misty Meadow Rescue, starter post

Postby dyingdinorat » Wed Jul 04, 2018 10:08 am

Misty Meadow Rescue
This Rescue is located in a big, green meadow. It has one big administration building with several barns and paddocks nearby. Right now, it only rescues horses such as Clydesdales, Shires, and OTTBs (off the track thoroughbreds). This rescue has a reputation of being kind to its horses. They try their best although some horses do die.

About
Blazing Oasis Rescue is located on a private island in the Bermuda Triangle. It was founded by Professor Michael Gill, in 1957. His oldest child, Alexandra Rose, took over and improved the Oasis before she too disappeared in 1996. Alexandra's daughter Jamie then took over at the young age of 17, after the Oasis was run by her Aunt Robella. Robella, her husband and Alexandra's and Robella's younger brother Justin then disappeared too. Jamie now has to rebuild the Oasis and solve the mystery behind her family's disappearance.

Staff

Gauhnith - 0 - CaWR

Postby Chamrosh » Wed Jul 04, 2018 11:35 am

Gauhnith

The Gauhnith is located within a naturally enclosed area within a rain shadow of a mountain on an island. It covers a very large area - the whole island - , but that's largely just due to a complete and utter lack of competition. No one really wants to build big cities in such remote areas.
Because of the rainshadow effect, and the territory enclosed, Gauhnith manages to have a wide range of environments within it, from rocky cliffs to lush green forest and sandy desert. Rainshadows can produce quite dramatic effects, apparently. There's a large lake in land through a fault valley, and out in the sea, there's a huge marine trench too. The wide variety in environments means that a wide variety of animals can be kept safely. The mountains were originally volcanoes, but they have long since grown dormant, and some are, by now, extinct.
The remoteness of the area has a few very noticeable differences within the area.

First of all, Homo genus members never really got to this part of the world. Instead, people who could maximise land space thrived; dwarves were the first settlers, and their legends tell of them making a mine so vast and deep that it stretched all the way from the mainland to the island, but the modern descendants of those settlers have yet to find that original tunnel. Their modern tunnels are far smaller, dwarves having become far less numerous in modern times, and struggling far more to keep up their old tunnels, meaning most have fallen into total disrepair. That said, dwarves are still common.
It's theorised that dwarves grew so small because of their vast numbers and island selective pressures increasing competition, but a dwarf, if asked, will always claim it's because their growing energy goes into their thick locks and bulging muscles.
Orcs are a far more recent addition. Some say the orcs sailed. Some say they just followed the dwarves. And some say orcs are born from dragon faeces and that it was a stupid dragon's fault. That last group tend to not be liked much. But however they got there, everyone knows that orcs like to live in crowded settlements as close as possible to useful resources. Their family bonds are very strong - as strong as a dwarf's love of fine craftsmanship - and being separated from close family is physically painful for them. This is why they react so badly to most travellers; they're used to travellers thinking they're evil, and killing their families. They extrapolate from that to assume any traveller has killed their family members.
Dwarves and Orcs are capable of having fertile offspring together, but they tend to take a lot more strongly after one parent or the other.
Both races have wide thresholds of "cute".

The second difference is that the island used to be a base for rather sketchy and top-secret arcane-science based research; that is, research involving the mixing of magic and science. In short, a very powerful wizard was called in to open a portal to test out the feasibility of using portals to entirely skip transport needs like ships.
    It... wasn't very easily controlled.
In fact, to get the portal to work, it basically needed to be hit repeatedly. None of the scientists liked doing that.
Further, there wasn't a huge amount of control about where the portal opened up.
Sometimes it would open up to a spot only a few metres away. Sometimes it would open up to a spot on the other side of the world. And sometimes it would open up in different times.
The portal, every time it's activated by a punch, has a magical ward on it. Nothing can pass through that isn't brought by a creature with a conscious mind willingly. This means animals can pass on their own free will, but microbes cannot, so Gauhnith doesn't have any ancient diseases that it shouldn't, nor does it spread diseases. In fact, the portal makes a good sanitising technique.
Further, if the portal happened to open underwater or in space, or some such, the environmental system would not pass through unless a conscious being acted upon it. The portal's opening is in a large open area on a ley line, with a stone ring around it, for maximum magical access, above a short cliff that leads directly to the sea.

Quite literally, the island of Gauhnith - and the park of the same name - is a nexus point for a worm hole that spreads backwards or forwards through time.
To get to conferences, they go through the portal. Time often passes unevenly for them going through as the portal isn't entirely accurate. Sometimes they'll even meet other parks' staff out of order.
In an underground room close to the nexus point is a rack of a series of "vests" with complicated runic markings on them. A sapient - and vocal - being can encant a phrase with their hand over the runes above their heart, and they will be brought back to the portal, allowing them to return even if they become lost. They arrive on the same side of the portal as they arrived at after passing through.

The dwarves and orcs love this.
The things that come through are adorable! Of course they want to protect them.

Gauhnith is Khuzdul for "safe and good". It seemed appropriate. And not ironic at all.
I'll make an Inkarnate map for them at some point.

    I'm up for anything prehistoric, but ideally cretacious and before, including pre-cambrian sealife, giant insects, dimetrodons, etc;
but also, if you ever want to dump a stupid sounding made up creature on me and claim it's an alien, of course yes, I'm up for that.
"You called it safe and good."
    "Yes."
    "Safe and good."
    "Yes."
    "Safe a-"
"Why have something complicated when we can have something accurate?"
    "What about the dinosaurs?"
    "...It's still good."

Sigma Double-Oh-One, The Rescue Center for All!

Sigma 001 is a Rescue Center founded by a person who prides themselves on welcoming any and all species. Their staff is typically Elves and Fairies, but other beings such as Humans, Aliens, and Merfolk (only if that's alright of course) have been known to be hired.

Sigma 001 resides on the corner of a forest, field, and mountain. Staff Quarters are built right in the center of the Center, with the various habitats spiraling outwards from there.

(may edit later, this was half-rushed so...we'll see xD)

The rescue otherwise known as Kalye Coia is made up by a group of elven druids who wish to do no more then preserve the planet. The rescue is located far in a deep wood where no other neighbors can be found and the majority of the rescue takes up an open meadow. They create habitats for all their creatures and take a lot of time to ensure that they are up to par for the animal. For the most part the rescue saves the lives of mythical creatures - unicorns, gryphons, hippogryphs, etc. They will rescue anything that appears to them but they definitely prefer to save the magic variety of critters.

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
AMÉ ISLI SHINEI is a wildlife rescue organization or center that is particularly known for their fatal brute speci
es. they originally came from ASIA but have decided to cross the ATLANTIC OCEAN to an island known CENEIS..
this island is the a mixture of a grassland and rain forest, also having medium bodies of water here and there.
what makes this island special though is its wide range of species, including animals and plants. CENEIS is the
home of many types of canines, which include wolves, foxes and coyotes, and many felines, which include tig
ers, lions, jaguars, leopards and cheetahs. the island is also home to many prey animals, but most of the pred
ators are what attracts AMÉ ISLI SHINEI to this island. so, after months of preparation, the organization heads
off to the island to set up a base, in order to learn more about these animals and even save some along the w
ay. the base will include various types of predators, as well as a few prey animals──will also include exotics.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
BACKGROUND──AMÉ ISLI SHINEI was quite a famous wildlife organization back in the late 80's and early 90's.
they appeared on dozens of wildlife magazines and newspaper articles as well as having professional photogra
phers come and take photos of their elegant, lethal beasts. the organization was primarily geared towards res
earching predatory land dwelling animals and saving them from possible extinction.. it also held an interest in
experimentation and hybrid creation, but these so called experiments were more humane and were rare. AMÉ
ISLI SHINEI's founder was a youth known as JOHNATHAN HEINS, a wildlife enthusiast and former zoo vet. JOHN
ATHAN HEINS, at the time, thought that this organization would be a very popular and that many people woul
d be impressed by what they discover and create... indeed he was correct because the organization had never
failed to put people into shock and awe. after many years of success, the people were becoming less and less
awed at the organization's doings,, so the director at the time RALPH GWEN had decided to create a brand ne
w hybrid creation. this hybrid, known as the JAGUAION, a hybrid of the all four widely known big cats──the t
iger, the lion, the leopard and the jaguar. GWEN wanted something to frighten yet amaze the people, so calle
d upon a scientist to help him with his deeds. the scientist was known as BEEJEY HARVARD, who was said to b
e the best scientists and one of the best african american scientists to ever live at the time. HARVARD had pr
oceeded with lots of experiments, mainly out of curiosity. he was considered quite dauntless and would try o
ut brand new things if it meant a good creation, so it was no surprise he accepted GWEN's requests to help m
ake a powerful and interesting super-hybrid. first, HARVARD went to work by seeking out a few healthy subje
cts. his first subject was a healthy male ethiopian lion, one of the organization's finest specimens───and his
second, a young average siberian tigress all the way from zoo. first, HARVARD attempted to breed these anim
als, but his attempted wasn't good enough since these two felines have never seen each other before. becaus
e of their aggression towards the other, he decided to take a much different route. using artificial inseminati
on, the tigress was finally gestating. the gestation period nearly four months, but after time passed, three cu
crap were born. these cubs were surely something else───they had the golden orange coat of a lion, but if you
looked more closely you would see very faint tiger markings as well as darker spotting. they were clearly liger
s─definitely not a new hybrid. HARVARD knew very well he couldn't just choose any of the cubs, so he observ
ed their behavior and recorded their growth over time. since GWEN wanted a rather huge feline, HARVARD m
ainly had eyes for the larger cub, CAESAR. this cub was large alright, but very aggressive and rowdy, so he w
as not the best choice. so the second born cub was the best option, a young female named RAINE.. after the
cubs grown up, the other two were sent to zoos while HARVARD kept RAINE. the plan was now continuing and
now he had to find RAINE a suitable bachelor. he managed to find a jaguar that was born and raised in captivi
ty, so he went along with them. luckily, this time the two had got along so soon enough the liger was carrying
cubs. after time, RAINE eventually gave birth to two cubs, unfortunately, one was stillborn. the cub was a ma
le named FLYNN, who was just as rambunctious as CAESAR. HARVARD was actually worried about his behavior
so he had someone come to try and train FLYNN, which wasn't quite easy. as FLYNN grew, the organization ha
d received the offer of adopting a adolescent leopardess, the last species he required. they accepted the leo
pardess in and the two eventually become good cage-mates. soon enough, the leopardess had cubs──four....
HARVARD was finally finished with GWEN's request, and he was delighted. GWEN paid him a large sum of mon
ey and soon enough HARVARD's creation went big as expected. people all across the nation were in shock ove
r the super hybrids, some other organizations even requested to buy one of the cubs. GWEN gave away only
three of the cubs and kept one, his main attraction known as TY. TY was large, exactly what he wanted, we
ighing at approximately 1,340 ibs. everyone had wanted to see him, completely losing interest in other anim
als AMÉ ISLI SHINEI had to offer. TY appeared in lots and lots of newspapers and magazines, always attracting
attention to the organization. but as time went on, a very tragic incident happened──TY attacked numerous
visitors as well as GWEN. this of course had once again brought the organization to a major downfall, causing
for TY to be contained and euthanized and for AMÉ ISLI SHINEI to become infamous. the organization was bur
ied to the ground, with newspapers and magazines trying to shut them down instead of build them up. this d
idn't go so well and soon enough, AMÉ ISLI SHINEI had been defeated. though in bad light AMÉ ISLI SHINEI refo
rmed in the later years and soon public opinion changed to indifference, GWEN was still put to shame, howev
er for not being credited on his creation, HARVARD was pretty okay... going on as if nothing had happened──
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
REPUTATION──the organization more popular back then, but then its reputation was ruined after the incide
nt involving the super hybrid. the organization has made an attempt to clear its name by stating that it was t
he infamous director RALPH GWEN's decision to have a scientist create the beast that murdered off sixty visit
ors including GWEN on that very day. from this, they received less backlash, the public becoming apathetic──
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
ANIMALS──the organization mainly rescue the following animals: all species of tigers (siberian, bengal, bali,
indonesian, south chinese, sumatran, malayan, etc), all species of lions (southwestern, congo, barbary, transv
aal, masai, ethiopian, etc), all species of leopards (snow, clouded, african, javan, amur, persian, indochinese)
jaguars (panthers), cheetahs, lynxes, bobcats, caracals, all species of wolves (red, grey, japanese, arctic, indi
an, etc──COMMON), dingoes, foxes (red, arctic, kit, fennec, corsac, etc), wolf hybrids (dog), crocodiles, aliga
tors, all species of snakes (python, corn, milk, king, etc), buffalo, all species of deer (white-tail, mule, elk, m
oose, etc), all species of antelope (gazelle, impala, etc), some bird species (goose duck, ostrich, eagle, owl),
domesticated animals (dog, cat, bird, rodent──NOT CAGED), some horse species (mustang, zebra)───────
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
RELOCATION PROCESS──for animals that do not belong in CENEIS, they are sent away to their proper habita
t. this process includes taking the animal out of their exhibit, locking them in a fitting cage with food and wa
ter and sending them off in a helicopter to the ship that is located near the shore, that ship will then send th
em off to their designated location. this also goes the same for sending animals to a sanctuary, a new organiz
ation, or zoo. if they are being relocated on CENEIS, a truck or other vehicle takes them far out away from th
e base, the reserve. animals are then given a identification chip and radio collar. sedatives are used──────
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
• CENEIS'S TOWN──the town of CENEIS, GLYNDALE, is where most of the workers will reside as well as their fa
mily if they were brought along. GLYNDALE is actually quite large and is located only thirty minutes away from
the organization's base. as expected, a lot of new people reside there, having stores, bakeries, hospitals, scho
ols and jails. this is where the organization gets most of its workers besides from other continents... there are
other towns in CENEIS but they are not ideal. other towns: MURRAY, HYLEK, DOMWAH, JAVAI, etc────────
