Ferrets once roamed the lands in large numbers until the humans came. Exterminating them, hunting them, and domesticating them. Now with the hopes of being able to come back to their roots, the ferrets are escaping and going back to the wild. They hope to thrive and prosper like their ancestors once did.

How to Create a Business

Starting Off
If it is your first time posting, you must tell me about your business. You can describe things like your business' name, nature, reputation, territory and ferret's personalities are good. These things help us decide on what your first ferret, the alpha will look like! We will quote your post with a picture of your first ferret and they will be the ferret who is the foundation of your business. You can decide on things like the alpha's name, age and gender.

Getting More Ferrets
Your business will start off small and you will have to build up it's population. You have two options for finding ferrets: patrols and sending your alpha to speak with the ancestors. You are only able to send your alpha to speak with the stars once a week and they can ask the stars for a new ferret; you can ask for a specific ranked ferret or we will give you one at random. You will be able to pick their name, gender and age as well.

Patrols
You are able to send up to 6 ferrets out on a patrol at one time. There are only a few things that can happen on patrols: you can find prey, which will keep your business safe from any attacks for 12 hours; you can chase off a threat, which will also keep your business safe for 12 hours; you can find a new ferret at the border (however the further along your business gets the less likely this is to happen), you will usually only find warriors and apprentices but you will sometimes find kits at the border if you have queens available; and you can find a leader of a rival business that will ask for an alliance that you can accept, ignore or even decide on becoming enemies.

New Ranks
Whenever you have a ferret old enough to move onto the next rank (6 months- kit to apprentice, 12-16 months - apprentice to warrior) you can send your alpha to speak with the stars to tell the ancestors of your decision to do a ceremony. You must also do this when promoting a ferret to deputy, or retiring a ferret to become an elder.

Becoming Mates/Having Kits
Without kits, your business would struggle to thrive. To have two ferrets become mates, post them going for a walk together and one of them asking the other to be their mate. In my post, I will time skip to the female finding out she's expecting kits then you will have to wait two months (2 posts). If you wish for the female to not have her kits yet, make sure to tell me. If you want a female to have another litter, say so in your post as well.

Aging/Death
You must age your ferrets up 1 month every post that you post. If in one post, you had an apprentice who was 8 months, then in the next post you would make that apprentice be 9 months. In this game, there are 5 possible ways for your ferrets to die; being born stillborn, old age, being attacked severely by a dangerous animal/another ferret, queens can die having kits, and not having your injuries treated within 2 days of them getting injured and/or sick.

Healing/Herbs
When you find your healer, you will have the option to choose 5 herbs to start off your medical storage. When you send your healer out to find herbs, you can only find 2 every patrol the healer takes to find herbs. Once your healer gets an apprentice, you will be able to find 3 on one patrol. You store your herbs in the medicine store and they can be used to heal sick or injured ferrets.

Mentors/Training
You will be the one to assign a certain mentor to a certain apprentice. Before your apprentice is allowed to become a warrior, they must complete 4 training sessions and they must be at least 12 months old. Your apprentice learns a new 'move' during each training session. You can send your healer to train with the warriors and apprentices but it isn't a requirement for them.

Ally Business
If you meet a neighboring business while on patrol, you can choose to become their ally. Ally business usually act friendly towards each other and resolve disputes without fighting. You can give herbs to an ally business if they don't have the herb they need but you do and if they are in desperate need of one. If your business is under attack by an enemy business, your ally business can join the fight and defend you as long as the enemy business isn't their ally. If your ally defends you in an attack, you have a much less chance of your ferrets dying or being captured.

Enemy Business
If you meet a neighboring business while on patrol, you can choose to become their enemy or rival. Enemy business usually act hostile towards each other and often argue and fight. You can steal kits, apprentices, elders and herbs while raiding enemy business camp. You need 4 ferrets to do this and the only way the business can get these back is if they attack the business. Attacks can prove fatal and there will often be ferrets injured, captured or even killed during attacks.

Forbidden Romance
Forbidden romances are romantic relationships with either a healer, or a ferret from another business. Ferrets can form romances with ferrets from both ally and enemy business and can sneak out of camp to meet them.. However, if the relationship results in kits, they will have to find a ferret willing enough to cover up as their father. It is extremely rare, but some ferrets may find out that the kits are forbidden and the parent(s) and/or kits could be exiled from the business.

Prey
Every post, your business will use up two pieces of food. Once you reach seven business members, your serving will go up 1. Then the next time you get seven more ferrets, your serving will go up by one again. The max amount of ferrets you can send out on a hunting patrol is 6 ferrets; for every 2 ferrets on the patrol, you will get one piece of prey, so the max amount of prey you can get from one hunting patrol is 3 pieces of prey. You can use six types of prey. An example of a set would be; mice, rats, voles, rabbits, frogs and snakes. You can switch out the different types of prey depending on what is normally found in your business territory but don't make it a type of prey that ferrets wouldn't normally eat. When you fill in your form after receiving your alpha, remember to fill in the six types of prey your business will be using. Very rarely, the mod who replies to your business will give you something outside of those six. Remember to go hunting often since two pieces are used every post. If you run out of fresh-kill, you have 2 posts to get enough prey back. After 2 posts, a ferret in your business will die from starvation. Every post after that, 1 ferret will die until you catch enough prey.

Seasons
Each season will last two weeks, after which a new season will start, going in order from Leafbare to Leaf-Fall. When your mod replies to your post, the mod will write what type of weather your kennel has for that day, which will ultimately effect how things go for you that day.
Winter- During winter, the chances of catching greencough is higher. If you send the same ferret out multiple times in the same post, they are more likely to catch a cold, which is lead to whitecough and greencough so be careful. After your ferret catches a cold, don't send them out for 2 posts or their cold will progress to whitecough or greencough. The sun will start to go down early and it will get colder once the sun starts to go down. You will also catch less prey and are more likely to find new ferrets trying to hide from the cold.
Spring - During spring, kit-birthing will run much smoother and the chances of the queens or kits dying during birth will go down dramatically. There is also a higher chance of you catch more prey than usual. The chances of catching greencough, whitecough and puppycough will go down. With all the snow melting, it is very likely that your territory will start flooding. There will also be more storms that will contribute to the flooding. The odds of finding new ferrets is very high.
Summer - During summer, you will catch a max of 6 pieces of prey. During patrols, you are more likely to run into predators, and bandit groups will most likely start to try and settle on your territory so keep an eye out. You are still likely to get floods, but there will be more droughts towards the middle of summer. Your business will still receive new ferrets but not as much as you would in spring.
Fall - During fall, it will start to get colder so the amount of prey you will catch will go down. The sun will start going down earlier and earlier and this will continue into winter. kit-birthings will start to get a little bit harder so make sure to stock up on kitting herbs like fennel, chervil, ragwort leaves and raspberry leaves. You will also run into predators more.

My Business is known as the Loyal Traitors, a name given to them, because nearly all of their original ranks were banished from other businesses. But despite all being banished ferrets, every single Ferret in the business is intensely loyal to one another, hence the name the Loyal Traitors.

Business of Rushing Water


The Business of Rushing Water is a Business that resides along the river of the Northern Forest. The ferrets that live in the Business are slick and agile, being able to climb high elements easily. They are fast thinkers and quick-witted, ther hind legs are built specially for jumping from trees to trees and they have very strong jaws, being able to kill from a range of large fishes to large birds.

Leader/Alpha: Strong, lean and muscular, able to make decisions quickly and often thinks about the Business rather than for himself. He will sometimes be rash when it comes to fights and get overprotective if another living ferret has entered their territory. He is always willing to put himself out in the event of an emergency to save his Business, also always willing to risk his life for his clan mates.

Traditions: For a ferret to be promoted from apprentice to warrior, to deputy, they must first capture a Hare or a Rabbit and skin the pelt, the chosen ferret must sit vigil on the pelt from sunset to sunrise in order to test their endurance. Next, the Alpha would bring the chosen ferret for a hunt, depending on how pleased the Alpha is, the ferret would be promoted, if not, it will remain as the same ranking.
If the ferret is promoted, the Alpha would speak to the stars to tell the ancestors of his decisions.

Fishers Of The Jungle
"We're the rulers of the ocean and the monarchs of the trees!"

Territory:
The Fishers Of The Jungle business is located in the edge of the jungle near the ocean, hence the name Fishers Of The Jungle. They make their dens in the branches of a large tree.

Personality/Reputation:
The Fishers Of The Jungle are very mysterious and are rarely out in the open unless on the beach. They are known for being modest when complemented but are extremely generous when giving others complements. If there's a fight or argument they will often join in but in the most low-key way possible but will turn it up a notch if necessary.

Looks/Breeds:
Being in the jungle, the majority of the ferrets have black, grey or brown fur and it's rare to have a white ferret and they are often signs of good luck and are honoured for their beautiful colour.

Traditions:
When its time to be assessed, apprentices go through the Test Of Worthiness. During this time they leave camp at dawn to get a snake skin and must return to camp with the skin by nightfall. If they return on time and with the skin they are to join the warriors. If they fail by either coming back late or without the skin they must remain an apprentice for another month.
