the half towers kennel -
the kennel of half towers makes their home deep in the heart of a moss-soaked forest, claiming a mound of old ruins as their main camp. the length of their territory stretches the length of the forest up to the edge of a small, very slow-moving river, where the dogs go to drink water and sometimes fish (if they are so capable). the ground of the forest is largely uneven, with the ruins themselves nestled in the slight dip of a valley. as such, come winter and snowfall, the pack often has to move up to higher grounds, typically closer to the river.
the dogs of the half towers are as mysterious as the territory in which they live. due to the ancient ruins where they make their home, the kennel is particularly strong-willed in their religious beliefs. they put a lot of faith in their ancestors, and have many traditions and rituals which they perform regularly to reaffirm the packs' connections to their deceased. these dogs are light on their feet, using stealth and quickness as their main strength rather than brute force. they usually only make themselves seen if they wished to be seen, so those who come looking for them might find themselves surely disappointed. the kennel isn't an aggressive sort, but they wouldn't allow themselves to be bullied into submission either. more than anything, all of their actions lie in accordance to laws (they believe) were decided by their ancestors.

Stars meeting: Current
A gruff looking male that goes by the name of Blade, walked through the forest. He was heading to the place where he could speak with his ancestors. After a while he stopped, he had arrived. He sat down and looked up at the sky, he silently prayed for a fierce strong dog to be his beta.[Blade speaks with the stars to request a Beta]

Dayton and Florence bundled ahead of Trenton into the camp. Trenton smiled fondly at his friends, glad that he had them. Even though Trenton had been hoping for a more calmer dog to join, Dayton ended up being just as excitable and energetic as Florence was. "Be careful." He laughed. Even though they were all around the same age, Trenton felt like he had to watch out for them and take care of them like a dam did with her pups.
"Are we going to go back out soon?" Dayton asked, turning to face his leader. Florence paused a couple of steps behind him, looking back at Trenton as well, her tail starting to wag excitedly.
"Yes. You two go hunting." Trenton said. Dayton and Florence yipped happily and turned on their paws, darting out of the camp.

"Juno, was it? Why don't you go hunt so we can have dinner tonight, I'll mark the borders again...?" He questioned, getting a nurt nod in return from the female. 'What is wrong with her...?' He questioned why going off towards the border.[ Juno goes hunting ]

Aurora stood tall, a proud smile on her muzzle as she bathed in the moonlight. She surveyed her territory from her perch, a tall boulder that jutted out by the water's edge, and she let out a booming howl.
"Thank you my ancestors, for this territory and kennel I have been given the opportunity to make." She paused to dip her head in respect.
"I ask that you continue to bless this kennel as we grow. Oh, wise ancestors, please watch over us and guide my pawsteps as their alpha." She looked at his paws as she thought, before piping up again.
"Now, I make my request. I ask for a faithful companion, to help me raise this kennel. Thank you.." With a parting cry, Aurora bounded down the perch with a newfound skip in her step and a glimmer in her eye.
"May the Kennel of Rushing Water grow strong."

It was a humid summer's night; a muggy heat had settled on the forest, causing Dakota to pant through the warmth of her thick coat. Huskies were not built for the heat. As she approached the most still part of the river in her territory, however, Dakota could feel the warmth begin to lift, an eerie coolness setting in instead. As if starved, she drank it in, breathing in all the scents of the forest with it. A soft smile parted her muzzle with the familiarity. With her head bowed low in submission, Dakota slipped into the shallows of the water, so that just her paws were submerged. Hundreds of millions of stars danced on the waters' surface, their images as clear as the forest that surrounded her. Drinking from and swimming in the river was strictly forbidden, she had quickly decided, due to the close connection it had to the stars. Closing her eyes against the chill, Dakota lifted her muzzle skywards. A breeze stroked her coat. "I'm not sure if I can do this on my own," she murmured, the sincerity clear in the tremor in her words. "Please, send me a beta who may help guide my leadership."

"Juno! You're hunting with me." She heard Mercutio call. She would never understand males, they were odd. After all, she grew up with many, many sisters and only her mother. Since she was born, she never exactly felt comfortable with males, they're so brutish!
"Now, Juno, now!" Mercutio called to her once more, this time more irritated. The female shrugged it off, simply following without a word.

This kennel takes up residence in an empty hunter's lodge, near a mill and a creek. The creek freezes over every winter and allows them to cross over to the elk-rich hunting grounds that the woods were once so famous for. They're quite stubborn and hardy, preferring to struggle along on their own rather than risk bringing anyone into their own messes. Barely living on a knife's edge world of ice, snow and frost, the kennel tends use stories and such to lift their spirits. One will often find them joined in a song or a merry hunt, just for the thrill of the chase!
