Littleheart and and Stonebark watched as their son Puddlepaw padded confidently out of the camp with Timberstar and Rippleface with him. They were so proud knowing he was ready to become a warrior and couldn't wait to be the first to greet him when he came back to camp saying he passed. "I know he'll pass!" Littleheart said with her heart clearly following him. Stonebark nodded in agreement as he curled his tail around his beloved mate. "I can't wait to see how happy he is to become a warrior. He's been working hard for this." Stonebark said with a proud look in his eyes.

"I found them, I'm keeping them. You all have apprentices." Newtclaw faced Mousestar head on, meeting her leader's confused stare with a defiant one.
The 'them' in question, a dark grey cat just under a year old, sat rather sheepishly to one side. "I can... I can go. If you don't have room for me."
The two adults whipped their heads towards the younger cat. Mousestar gasped apologetically. "No! Of course you can stay. I just need to - reconfigure a couple of things. We're going to have a lot of apprentices in the coming months that's all." The tabby and white leader stood up, flexing her front claws in a stretch. "I'll go to talk to Starclan this evening. Would you like a naming ceremony? We did one for the younger apprentices, but haven't really been doing them for the adults who join."
"I think I would like one, actually. To announce me as part of the clan properly, y'know? My mum called me Shrike, if that's any help with naming. After the bird. Because I was the smallest in the litter, see?" Shrike grinned, and Mousestar couldn't help but return his smile.
"Then we'll gather the clan now, before I leave. Newtclaw will mentor you." And with that, she turned and leapt up onto the last remaining hay bale, calling for her clanmates to assemble.
When they had gathered, tails twitching curiously, Mousestar began. "Today, Meadowclan, we welcome a new clanmate to our midst. Shrike, step forwards. Do you pledge to listen and learn the ways of a warrior, to try your hardest to follow the rules laid before you?"
The young cat nodded, glancing round as the clan muttered to each other. "I do."
Mousestar's tail flicked. The clan silenced. "Then, until you have recieved your warrior name, I hereby name you Shrikepaw. Your mentor will be Newtclaw." She waited while Newtclaw stepped forwards and the two cats touched noses.
Mousestar sat down where she was and cleared her throat. "Tonight, the other apprentices can show Shrikepaw where the den is, while I talk to Starclan."

“amberclan, let us honor the first warriors in our next chapter of life; cricketcall and tansybloom!” the clan erupted in cheers, paws pounding the soft earth of the new forest. the rogues gathered around the edges of the group, nervously sharing glances; do we join in or what? nonetheless, some of the rogues joined in on the cheer, albeit quietly.

adanya followed her siblings as the young warriors went to greet and congratulate their friends. millie and beau were the first to reach the new warriors, their excited mews swarming adanya’s ears. with an annoyed flick of her tail, she made her way beside her brother, jasper. she wasn’t particularly excited or over the moon for cricketcall or tansybloom, but she needed to seem polite.

cricketcall chatted with millie for a second, though adanya’s entrance distracted him. he dipped his head to her, meeting her dull stare. she furrowed her brows for a moment, but soon realized he was just honoring his elders. she had to swallow a laugh at the thought; she was only a few moons older! yet, she followed his lead and cocked her head up, giving him a half-hearted smile.

“evening, adanya.” his greeting came out as an amused sigh, an obvious sign of his tired nature that night. yet, his tone was warm as he met her gaze. adanya replied simply, asking him about how he expected his vigil to go. he shook his head with uncertainty. “well, how do they usually go?” he asked, brushing past her as he headed towards a less cramped part of the rogue’s camp.

adanya followed after the tabby, taking a moment to reflect on her answer. “don’t think i can give you an accurate answer; i was on vigil with the clan, maybe these rogues will give us something new.” she looked over her shoulder, watching as the rogues rerouted around the clancats.

he nodded with understanding as he settled. the sun had began to set during the warrior ceremonies, leaving the forest nearly dark by then. adanya found herself beside him, the two exchanging small talk as the evening came to a close.

adanya bit into the dry meat of a squirrel, running her tongue over her fangs to rid any dangling pieces. she smacked her lips momentarily with disappointment. the prey on this side of the valley was definitely not up to her tastes - or maybe she was just spoiled as a young apprentice. nonetheless, she knew she’d rather return to the cliffs to find a palatable meal.

the warrior’s thoughts were interrupted, the voice of her father tearing through. “morning.” admonium mewed, nodding his head up. adanya followed suit, standing to meet his cheek. as they greeted each other, adanya went to collect the squirrel’s carcass. despite the meat still hanging from the bone, she was sure no cat would be interested.

admonium’s sudden inquiry nearly caused adanya to snap the squirrel between her teeth. “so, i saw you and cricketcall run off and chit-chat. should i be expecting any grandkits this summer, adanya?”

with a peaked brow, she met her father’s gaze. his smile was a friendly taunt, though she knew he had recently wanted grandkits after seeing orchidstep with her own. for a moment, she collected her thoughts. we were just talking about his vigil. i’m not interested in him at all, to be honest.

adanya chuckled softly, shaking her head. “guess we’ll have to wait and see. how about you go pester jasper or millie?” she joked, though she was only mimicking the traits her father expressed. she wanted to please him and she knew how important it was to continue her lineage; if cricketcall was the way to go, then so be it.

mudspots and applenose made their way towards the makeshift nursery. the queens and kings were gathered near the bramble walls as the kits bumbled around, tripping over their own paws. bea accompanied them, the old rogue helping lower the stress of the rogue queens. her familiar face helped put every cat’s worry to ease; the rogues claimed she had a green thumb, and amberclan were forever thankful for her help during the greencough bout.

“here,” the ginger cat mewed, motioning the pair over towards a tabby molly. the queen rose her head, tucking her tail over her side. she looked hesitantly in their direction, but a quaint smile told bea it was alright. “dragonfly, do you mind if applenose has a nest near you?”

dragonfly nodded, turning her head to observe applenose. “that’s fine.” her mew was soft and raspy, an indicator of a good afternoon nap. applenose looked to her mate for a moment and waited for his reaction. mudspots nodded, brushing his cheek against hers.

as the two departed, bea began looking around for the scraps of an old nest. she turned to applenose with a forced smile, though her tone was uncertain. “mm, i’ll have to go out and find some nesting materials for you. it should be done by tonight, hopefully you don’t mind an hour or two of simple grass.” she joked, putting applenose at ease.

the young queen nodded with understanding, a chuckle slipping from her lips. “it’s okay, i can always take up a nest with newtberry.” bea returned applenose’s polite grin. she laughed about how newtberry wouldn’t even mind before making her exit, heading towards the medicine cat den.

applenose watched as the medicine cat made her way out of the den with a new apprentice, a ginger and white she-cat named sunnypaw. she recalled seeing fenneltuft make a show out of grooming the then-kit, with sunnypaw mewing her disapproval. applenose did have to give the old queen some credit, though; sunnypaw’s pelt shone as she listened to ferretstar’s announcement.

dragonfly’s soft meow was barely strong enough to pull applenose from her thoughts. “we could always unravel some mossballs from the kits, make something quick for you.” she suggested, motioning towards the collection of moss that the apprentices had yet to roll. “we'll have to wring them out, though.”

applenose accepted the offer, beating dragonfly to the untouched moss. together, the two returned to the queen's nest and spent a portion of the afternoon absentmindedly draining the moss and crafting a nest for their new arrival.

sunnypaw strode beside poppyleaf, whose nose was wrinkled in search for the rose scent of mallow. the apprentice followed her silently, mimicking her steps and mirroring the way she kept her tail just barely brushing the ground.

sunnypaw nearly tripped over her own paws trying to avoid poppyleaf’s sudden turn towards the scent she needed to pacify mintfur’s whines. poppyleaf had tried to reassure him it was probably an old mouse; he still got the morning patrol off! sunnypaw chuckled at his mischief, but she knew poppyleaf wasn’t much of a fan.

the tortoiseshell carefully plucked the trio of leaves, gathering them into a neat pile before motioning sunnypaw to collect them. “at least we got out this morning, huh?” the apprentice tried to cheer up her annoyed mentor. poppyleaf gave her a half-hearted smirk before heading off towards camp again. sunnypaw’s tail swung low between her backlegs as she followed the medicine cat obediently.

Slowly the morning starts to come with every cat waking up. The hard winter is coming and hoping
nothing will come down onto the clan to make anything worse since a poor kit has gone missing.

Ravenclaw awakes from his long sleep feeling the cold weather going around his warm body. With Nightcry dealing
with the leader having kits soon. The deal was set as Ravenclaw trains Wavepaw and Beepaw together. Knowing
Wavepaw he'll be up more late than beepaw. Walking out of his small den filled with other warriors he looked around
to see beepaw looking around to see Ravenclaw was up and ready to go. "Hey kit." Ravenclaw comes passed beepaw as
they quickly comes up to Ravenclaw, "How long will Wavepaw be up?" Beepaw asked as they looked up to ravenclaw.
"Mostly any time." He said as both of them walk down to the path that leads to the training grounds. Wavepaw knew he's
gonna train today but for him he thinks he can do it in his own time.

With the morning still being cold and mossy, Smokeheart starts to worry to the kit who went missing. It was big that
emberstar and Weaselflower is coming to have kits, but tinypaw has to deal with them for now. Since Blazeclaw has
gone out to look out to find his lost kit, leaving Flamestorm to worry and keeping an eye out for her own other kit, stormkit.
Coming around to Tinypaw being quite as normal, Smokeheart walks in as she looks around. "I need you to look after
emberstar and weaselflower just in case." she said with Tinypaw nodding. With that Smokeheart left, going out finding the
herbs she needs.

Blazeclaw was getting more worried as he comes more close to the strong smell. His heart was beating after, He doesn't
want to see his own kit on the floor with a gash in them. But his lucky might hit as he comes across what was there.

will contribute to the flooding. the odds of finding new cats is very high.

Last moon
Morningstar chuckled as Rainpaw happily barreled back into camp after her assessment. The apprentice held it together quite well through her stress, sneaking behind and catching a magpie, swam confidently upstream, and sparred successfully against the leader herself. They were both greeted enthusiastically by the Clan and one new stranger.
“Morningstar, this is Rusty.” Her deputy walked towards her, introducing the brown tom. He had a dried line of blood across his muzzle and striking green eyes.
“Welcome, Rusty,” Morningstar greeted. “I am pleased that you have found TwistedClan.”
“Believe me, the pleasure is mine.” Rusty responded. “I appreciate the vigilance that yours cats here practice.” He gestured to the cut on his nose.
“Silverstem will be a valuable fighter once she is out of the nursery.” Copperleaf added.
“I don’t doubt that.” Morningstar paused. “Will you be staying with us for the future?”
“I think I might enjoy that,” Rusty grinned.
“Morningstar!” Stormstrike interrupted, coming up from behind. “How did Rainpaw do?” He got a disapproving glance from Copperleaf for butting into their conversation, but Morningstar now found his excitement contagious.
“You’ll see,” Morningstar winked. Leaving the warriors on the ground, she bounded up the old tree with the thick, low-hanging branch that extended into the clearing.
“Attention! All cats that can are able to climb a tree gather below!” Morningstar’s voice rang out across the clearing. The cats of TwistedClan gathered below her branch. “Today, we have two warriors joining our ranks. Rusty?” The new cat nodded from his spot on the ground. “You shall be called Ruststripe. And Rainpaw, would you join me up here?” The apprentice scampered up until she was nose to nose with Morningstar. “Rainpaw, do you promise to uphold TwistedClan’s traditions and to protect the Clan with your life?”
“I do.” Rainpaw said confidently.
“Then, I give you your warrior name, Rainsong. Remember that your voice and opinions are important and do not be afraid to speak up.” Morningstar rested her muzzle on Rainsong’s forehead while the Clan yelled her new name. “Good job, Rainsong, you deserve this.” She whispered.
“Thank you, Morningstar.” Rainsong looked up with her eyes shining. “I’ll do my best.”
Morningstar descended back to the ground. “Congrats, Stormstrike. You did well.”
“I had as much fun as she did,” Stormstrike replied.

Present
Raised voices awoke Ruststripe from his afternoon snooze. He stretched and stepped down into the rainy landscape. While enjoying his last moon with TwistedClan, he preferred quiet when he napped. The noise offenders were Stormstrike and Gingerblaze. Straining his ears to make out their angry words, he bumped into Morningstar.
“Pardon,” He stepped to the side when he startled the leader. “Know what they’re arguing about?”
Cue a sigh from the calico. “Whatever it is, it’ll be some small thing that they’ll forget in a moment.”
With his ears pointed forward, he caught a few of the words being spat out. “Well, Stormstrike just called Gingerblaze a ‘clumsy oaf with four left feet’, does that help?”
“I guess that would clear a few things up,” Morningstar shook her head. “Those two will be the death of me, I swear. Together they will argue until they’re blue and go back to being civil in an entire patrol.” She rolled her eyes.
Ruststripe laughed. At first, he wasn’t so sure about staying in TwistedClan, but he was starting to get used to each cat’s personality and enjoyed working together with them.
“With more cats, there’ll be more arguing, I suppose.” Morningstar narrowed her eyes.
“It’s not life without problems.” Ruststripe shrugged. “Otherwise, it’d be boring.”
