Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) are a popular sport fish. Originally from the Pacific Northwest. Now found in the big lakes. Will swim up rivers in the fall to reproduce, then the adults die afterward. A large top-level predator that feeds predominantly on alewives.
