‘The Amber Skies pack got their name from the beautiful colour that the sky turns every night. They live in a rather large cove which is surrounded by dense forest. They live rather far away from any human civilisation, however, campers are frequent and the pack has to be careful. The Amber Skies canines are all rather friendly towards other canines and would never turn down one in need – whether a loner, a member of a different pack or otherwise.

They live in a rather large cave expanse which has enough room for many dogs,
it has good ventilation but it stays warm during the nights. As far as religion goes,
the Amber Skies pack don’t have many beliefs – however, they do believe in an afterlife
and that their now passed family and pack members now watch over them. They don’t
believe in gods or deities, at least the majority. If a canine does have beliefs they will not be
discriminated on what they believe, and often others will listen to their side of the world.

Ranks:
This is the hierarchy that the Amber Skies pack follows!:
Alpha: The Alpha is the leader of the pack – they make the final decisions on
everything and are able to speak with their ancestors.
Beta: The Beta is the second-in-command, or deputy, of the pack. They help in making
important decisions and are often the mate of the Alpha.
Heir: The Heir is the first-born child of the Alpha; they will succeed the leader.
Healer: The Healer is, well, the healer. They are skilled in herbs and medicines and are
able to speak with their ancestors.
Ironteeth: The Ironteeth are the hunters, fighter and patrollers of the pack.
Tenderpaws: The Tenderpaws are young dog learning to become Ironteeth.
Pup-mothers: The Pup-mothers are female dog nursing pups.
Omega: The Omega is the last-born child of the Alpha; they learn basic healing techniques
and live to serve their pack.

Overview:
There is a legend about a mountain inhabited by vengeful spirits
somewhere in the norther United States. Fittingly, it is called
Ghost Mountain. So much superstition surrounds this place that
everyone who lives within visiting distance is terrified of it.
Well, everyone but the group of dogs that call it their home.
These dogs are fearless, and mostly keep to themselves,
but occasionally make allies and enemies.

Territory:
The mountain itself is surrounded by a forest.
There are several rocky paths that lead up to the summit. Their main camp is at the base of the mountain, within a clearing containing four large trees. The leader, medic, elders and nursery all have their own burrows beneath the roots of the trees, but the regular pack members sleep outside. There is also a river and road, marking their east and west borders.

Breeds:
Most of the dogs are dark. However, there
are the occasional light-furred canines.
White dogs are almost never seen. Large
dogs are the only build, since their strength
is a must-needed thing. Most of the dogs have
thick fur, since the forest can be very cold.

Hunters and seekers:
There are two main regular ranks withing the kennel.
Hunters are those who go hunting for food.
Seekers are those who go patrolling, guard
the camp, and are the first that are called
to battle. Novices are decided at birth what
rank they will go into and will be mentored by a member.

Beliefs:
The dogs of Ghost Mountains believe in two main gods. The first, and most high, Kiavo, the god of death/risk. The second is his mate, Niola, the goddess of fertility/survival/protection. They believe that the two look over the kennel fondly. Niola is favored by the females, as the goddess ensures safe births and large litters. When a female is announced pregnant, the pair go up to the spirit pool to ask Niola for her approval and aid. When the female gives birth, the entire kennel sits in a broad circle and pray to Niola.

In the kennel, death is not a sad matter. Returning to Kiavo is seen as a joyous occasion. Of course, killing is wrong, and they try their best to keep their members alive, but they understand that is was Kiavo's choice to take them. Murder is one of the highest offenses, since they are disobeying Kiavo's plan and trying to do the god's job for him.

The alpha is seen as a direct descendant of Kiavo and Niola. When a previous alpha dies, the pack waits for a sign from the pair as to who will succeed him. The medic is the voice of the two, and is chosen with special care. It will always be a pup of the former medic.

this world is strict. regulated. dangerous. rebellion could lead to death. bow down, or die. follow your status, don't worry about the higher classes. do your jobs, don't mess with others. tend to your betters. spreading rumours and corruption is deadly. do you wish to die? if not, keep your head down.

this pack has a story. once long ago all was calm. it was a different world. the counties were calm, everything was peace. the overlords didn't exist. and then. and then. there were disruptions, arguments, stains in the peace. and peacestakers were born. led by the overlords, these dogs held the calm and enforced the new rules. slowly, slowly, all ideas of rebellion were forced out of the world. and now, three counties still remain. counties 1, 2, 3. and the overlords. a compact group of leaders who will quell all revolutionary ideas with a glance.

the counties live in an abandoned mansion in the mountains. half of it is fallen down and rotting. there are four sections. the top section is inhabited by the overlords. the two top overlords live in the largest rooms. they are luxurious and full of hay bedding and private food stores. the lower counties, including the medics, live in various ranges of the mansion; usually the derelict and rotting areas. the medics have a slightly more secure section as even the overlords respect their worth.

none of the rooms are heated, but although they live in the mountains it doesn't pose much of a problem: the majority of the dogs here are long haired. but any dog is allowed to live here, however they must be entirely loyal and will be killed immediately on betrayal. this pack eats a selection of food, including rabbits, eagles, and occasionally goats.

Dean weaved between the towering dark tree trunks that scattered the forest. He ignored the whispers that the wind forced against his ear fur and continued on his way. He had just discovered the clearing that would be his group's new home, just like Kiavo and Niola had foretold. Heaving a sigh, the dark dog sat down, resting his back against one of the practically black shafts of wood. His brown eyes scanned the mist that clouded before him. The small clusters of fallen cloud swirled around his paws, making it almost impossible to see the path he had been walking on. However, this did not scare him. The pale sun glittered high in the sky and was reflected by the small pools of water that gathered on fallen leaves. Dean's eyes fluttered shut and he inhaled deeply. The fresh scent of rain combined with the usual forest smells put the stressed dog at ease. He knew he shouldn't be feeling this way; he had been chosen by the gods to create a new settlement in their name! But no matter how much he tried to move on, Dean couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness that gripped him like eagle talons, ripping into his heart. Suddenly, a thought popped into the new alpha's head. His black ears perked up and his mouth twitched in a smile. 'Samuel!' He realized happily. His brother had been separated from him a few seasons ago due to a flood. Samuel had a certain way of communicating with Kiavo and Niola in a way that Dean couldn't. Every pack needed a high priest, and he decided that Samuel would be his. Dean rose to his paws and trotted happily back to his newfound camp. He sat in the middle and bowed his head, sending up prayers to the gods for Samuel to return to him. Then, he waited for his brother to appear.

Moose's nose tingled with the scent's of rabbit. He had been out hunting and patrolling all morning but had not yet found any prey. That's when he spotted it.
The large, plump rabbit sitting among the undergrowth. He pounced.
Moose landed on the rabbit with a thud, and as the rabbit was winded he finished up with a quick snap.
Proud of his catch, he began to head home. As Moose was padding back in the direction of camp, he caught the sound of another dog murmuring. He paused, he couldn't smell anything but the scent of the rabbit, but by swivelling his ears he was able to tell the direction from which it was coming from.
A few minutes later he entered a clearing, and there amongst the grass sat a rather pretty dog, with long fur and beautiful colours. She was talking to herself quietly, nosing through the flowers and plants that surrounded her.
Moose cleared his throat.
The female dog looked up in surprise, eyes wide.
"Don't worry," Moose rushed to assure her. "I won't hurt you."

• korra, red, thunder, dane, zeus, kodiak, solo, and kaltag encounter the trespasser and their small gang. the patrol immediately leaps into battle with the unworthy fleabags, resulting in a bloody exchange. those of the northern stars allegiance successfully kill and chase the remainder of the gang from their territory, but, in the process, thunder is killed and korra is left badly injured. the others are only slightly scraped and bruised, therefore not needing any treatment.
