Smoketalon, innocently padding through the forest, was unaware of whatever could have been watching him. Moonlight lit the path in front of him as he followed it. But all of a sudden, A cat swooped down, deathberries in hand, or should I say, Paw! (yes I should), as the cat stuffed them in Smoketalon's mouth, and he had no choice but to swallow, collapsing in a heartbeat, where he died peacefully.

Now, your Deputy is gone, Thunderclan! Remove the murderer, or continue to be haunted...

Spottedpaw trotted out of the camp to hunt, feeling hopeful. They'd exiled Nightflare, so although it was horrible to remember, at least they'd only lost Mistystorm. After all, how could they be wrong? Lost in thought, the small apprentice didn't notice anything in her way until she tripped over something furry. Blinking, she looked back to see a tail, then Smoketalon's body. "Smoketalon?" she asked the deputy, getting back on her paws. "What are you doing laying down out here?" Then she noticed purple juice smeared around his muzzle, and that he wasn't breathing. Finding it hard to breathe herself, Spottedpaw's green eyes widened in horror and she backed up, then turned tail and sprinted back to camp. Once back, she looked around for someone to tell. She couldn't find any cat in particular, so, feeling helpless, she yelled, "Help! Smoketalon is dead!"
