The Kill wrote:Foxstride ’s wings tucked closely to his body. He sat beside his late apprentice, his nose resting on her shoulder.
“How could this happen?” He muttered to himself as his wings unfurled, dropping on to the ground.
He raised his head, looking to the sky. “Take her safely, Starclan, please.”
His ears flicked up as he heard names being called out through the clan. Cats were yelling, blaming...
Foxstride lowered his head once more, once again resting his nose on Oceanpaw’s shoulder. Time seemed to slow down, he couldn’t hear his clanmates anymore, he couldn’t hear anything. All of a sudden, time rushed back to him, as he was awakened from his sorrow by a jab to the rib.
The russet tom looked up to see his leader glaring him in the eye.
“Foxstride, the clan believes that you were Oceanpaw’s murderer.” Miststar spoke, not a sense of emotion in his voice. Foxstride jumped to his paws.
“Me?! Why would I kill her? She’s my apprentice! There’s been a mistake, it wasn’t me!”
“I saw you sneak out of the Warrior’s den, late at night!” Silentgaze snapped, approaching the duo. The clan followed her to surround Foxstride.
“I was going to make sure she wasn’t sleeping!” Foxstride insisted, wings and back fur bristled in terror. The clan drowned out his protests with cries of “Murderer!” “Monster!” and “Traitor!”
Foxstride slinked back past them, before turning and dashing out of camp. He ran through the forest, half a dozen cats on his trail. He tried to fly away from their grasp, but the moment he stopped to lift his wings, the cats leaped on him.

Foxstride stepped gracefully through the silver grass, stars littering after his steps. He sat down on the pearly white riverbank, beside a short silver apprentice. Oceanpaw glanced up at him, before joining him in looking through the starry river at the clans far below.
You've sent your innocent deputy to his grave, Thunderclan! The murderer remains!
The Kill wrote:Turtleheart padded back to camp thoughtfully. She was thinking back on the day's events, and of the loss of Foxstride.
A shame, She thought That we had to lose him. He seemed like such a nice cat.
The sliver of guilt that she felt quickly dissipated when she entered camp and spotted Mossear and Brokenflight preparing Oceanpaw for burial.
Despite this, the look on Foxstride's face when they took him down, when she sank her teeth into his throat, well...
As she selected a sparrow from the fresh kill pile, she thought back on that look. A feeling, deep in her gut, told her that they were wrong, that he had been innocent.
As she chewed her sparrow, failing to notice the strange tangy taste, she thought of Foxstride's final moments, his last breath of air.
And as her throat closed in and tightened, she realized that she had taken her last as well.
A Warrior has been struck down by the Murderer! Hurry, Thunderclan!
