As the day passed, more and more cats realized that Jaycloud had gone missing.
By sundown, the worst had been confirmed; the killer was still among them. But
who could it be?

"Nettlepaw!" called someone. "It has to be him!"

Soon, cats were crying out in agreement, but a small amount called for Smallstep.
The queen shivered and huddled closer to Ghostkit.

Finally, at almost sunrise, the Clan had agreed that Nettlepaw had to go. The poor
apprentice was terrified for his life and he fled without a word. He crossed the
border to RiverClan, where he was made a warrior a few moons later.

Later that day, Fawnstar announced that she would be Orchidpaw's mentor.
