"Petit Tea, have you been keeping everything in the nooks?" The young tom perked as his leader appeared from a passage.
"O-oh, ah, yes. To keep them off the ground and out of the damp."
"Very good, I was hoping you were." she mewed with a smile. He returned it, flicking his tail.
"What brings you out here?"
"I'm mapping out the tunnels. I think I have all of the northern ones memorized." She sat. Petit Tea stared in awe.
"You memorize all of this?"
"How else would I find my way?" she purred, whiskers twitching, and he approached her. His pelt burned with embarrassment.
"Of course..."
"... How are you sleeping, dear?" A familiar pang locked his lungs to his ribs as he was reminded of the flood again. Monarch of the Garden seemed to notice, she tucked her tail around his leg.
"Not well. I don't know if I'll ever be well again."
"May I make a suggestion?" she asked softly.
"Of course.."
"Why not have Petit Sugar stay in your den as well? It's very large and cold, and having a friend so close could help ease the fears," the ginger tabby paused. "Might be a good time to make a move as well."
"DUCHESS MONARCH!!" he cried in burning surprise. She only laughed as she gave his head a lick and rose to her paws.
"Looks like I wasn't wrong. I may be blind, but I'm not deaf you know." The Votre Majeste nudged him with her shoulder as she left, amused, leaving the poor lad to his romantic thoughts.

-- halfmoon becomes hopeful of the clan's recovery as a second moon passes following the battle; the mounatin cats slowly easing back into "routine" life. in part thanks to the new nursery inhabitants, excitement finding its way coursing through the fractured clan once more as promise of new life grows ever closer
-- the excitement is somewhat lost on the two healers as their nerves build. the grieving snowpetal finds a surprising distraction as she takes stock of the current herbs; the ever inquisitive, and clumsy, shimmerkit had wandered his way down the healers tunnel, wide eyes examining the piles of herbs stacked outside the cave's entrance. once her, rather justified, concern faded the young healer decides to entertain the kit's wonderment and enlists him to help her move the herbs back inside the cave
-- the watchful presence of canarycall is not lost on the perceptive lilybloom as the older healer passes by en-route to the elders after a visit to the nursery tunnel, the she-cat urging the hunter to lend a paw, or if he rather accompany her to the cave filled with the grumblings of the eldest clan members. canarycall is quick to head further down the tunnel, much to the amusement of lilybloom, and the excitement of shimmerkit at the hunter's arrival.
-- batjaw & coneleaf's teasing of their sister at their passing of assessments and failure of her own eventually melts into comforting words and a trip down the mountain to ease goldpaw's nerves. the adoptive siblings glad to lean on one another after all the events that have passed.
-- birdpelt is lead away from the main cave by applefall, beetleleap, finchheart & rookdive, the group of hunters heading down to one of the shallower lakes within the forest in hopes of lifting birdpelt's spirits. the comfort of being around friends she'd grown up with helps to ease birdpelt as the group plays around in the water under the light of the stars. the group is interrupted by the appearance of willowface & daffodilsong, the older hunters joining the small party. birdpelt finds herself relaxing in the presence of willowface, though both are trying to move past the grief the war brought on they find comfort in eachother's understanding.
-- the ever troublesome sisters piedpelt & berrysoar have fun teasing and playing with the younger hunters wrendance, chickadeefeather & warblercry, the brothers rightfully intimidated by the playful mollies. their older cousin Coppermaw watches on with an amused shake of his head, pitying the toms.
