Alone. That's how everything starts to Itoa. He is a lone soul, traveling without a home and without a family. He prefers this life but... it always sat weird in him. He wanted to try the family life now to see if that feeling fixed. Here in the mountain forests he would find his new home... and make a new ungulate.

[ the scouts find nothing of interest on the patrol; it seems as if the mountain lion has frightened away anything they might have found, and it will take a few days before animals once again begin to emerge from hiding ]

Duke watched the graceful horse as she trotted through the field. The golden sunlight made her pelt glow and her long main flowed behind her. He sighed heavily. He had a huge crush on Poppy. But he knew how she would react once he told her. She and Birch were so close, Duke would be surprised if the grey male hadn’t beaten him to it. Duke rolled his eyes, a chuckle growing in his throat. Oh how he like to make himself laugh! Why wouldn’t Poppy like him? He was strong and handsome and he would protect her. Not like that weakling Birch who had chosen to become a guard and not a soldier. Blowing out air through his nose, the stallion trotted towards the mare, standing tall and proud, ready to ask her to become his loyal mate.
