Pack of towering mountains

It felt like years since the two met, under the boughs of the dying nightshade. They'd played in the shadows, leaping and bounding through the cover of night. They'd long since made the oath that they'd be together forever as wild and reckless youngsters but now they were older and far more sober, and their hearts realized that the other simply wasn't the one. ''Not that way, moron.'' groaned Birch, rolling her eyes as he considered a clump of brambles as a campsite. ''Well, where do you suggest!?'' snapped Alder in reply. He disliked her fiercely nowadays, wishing that he'd never once uttered that oath. ''This way...'' Birch sighed, solemnly striding towards a rocky land, ridged by trees and treacherous mountains. The snow capped mountains were huge, their peaks shredding the clouds and a fearsome river that roared nearby, snaking through the valley and boulders. Alder understood why Birch would want to take up residence here. It was safe, bordered by such prickly pines and towering mountains. ''Towering mountains...'' he murmured in awe, but his awe was shattered as Birch pushed past him. ''Quit standing there like some gormless rabbit.'' she snarled, ''We've got a pack to build, enemies to fight and friends to gain.'' Grumbling, Alder padded after her. ''No-one wants to be friends with you!

Not many Alpha's actually love each other, she wasn't even sure if Zirro loved her back, but Yiho loved her mate with all her heart. She would never give that up, not for anything. Lost in her own thoughts, Yiho almost missed Zirro leaving for hunting.

since persephone could no longer hunt, hades went to hunt on his own. he made sure to stick close to the camp in case something were to happen. he did worry about persephone, but she was a strong fae and could handle herself. for the next couple of months, he would have to hunt on his own since the pups could not be left behind; it was the price they had to pay.

mortality gripped the goat and dragged it into camp, his head high. fawna still wan't back yet, and he put the goat down and waited for her to return. he thought about the female, his head resting on his paws. fawna was aggressive, as most female wolves were, but in a way that wasn't demeaning to him. he hoped fawna had actual feelings for him, although it was very unlikely. he didn't love fawna, but he did have feelings for the alpha. it was then that fawna returned, her eyes bright. "mortality! you have to go explore sometime! streams are everywhere, and the colors are simply amazing! everything is melting. oh, it's simply gorgeous." she continued, then noticed mortality looking at her with an unreadable expression. "what?" mortality shook his head fondly and said, "you're so cute." fawna ducked her head in embarrassment, but looked up at mortality from behind her lashes. mortality pushed the goat in front of her with his paw, motioning for her to eat. she took a bite of the goat and then passed it to mortality, and they continued to eat like that until the billy was nothing but bones. mortality shook his fur and murmured, "i'll be back in a bit. will you stay here?" fawna, her stomach full and her eyes heavy, nodded. she walked into their den and immediately fell asleep. mortality chuckled, and shaking his head, went to go hunt again.

As Alluriana and Placido dragged the carcass home, they grumbled about the surrounding territories, and whether or not they should just eat the carcass now. Alluriana objected that it was safer to drag it up into the mountains, but Placido attempted to say that there was no need to. They bickered for a bit, and although rather disgruntledly, Alluriana became too tired to continued. In the morning, she complained about her aching stomach, but stubbornly decided to go hunting with Placido anyways.

Pack of Burning Water

Sonsee-Array and Qaluun ate the adult beaver there and then. There wasn’t a lot of point in carrying the whole thing back when they themselves had to eat too. It was a waste of energy, and would result a curse from the beavers spirits. They thanked the beavers for their lives and their gifts of their ended lives, pushed snow around the remains, then carried the kits back to the cave, one each. It was a simple enough climb that it was still easy with them. They placed down the beaver kits together, in a little alcove off the side of the main body of the cave.

Sonsee-Array closed her eyes and fell deep into her sleep. First, she had a vision of a set of tiny pup paws prints through the snow, emerging and falling into it while the pups were not to be seen. She was sure that meant that she was expecting pups, and that they would be healthy and energetic- surely a good omen.
Then the snow melted away, leaving no sign of the running paw prints.
A huge figure, what looked like a skinny, very tall bird with an ugly, crooked beak and strange bright yellow and orange stained feathers, erupted instantaneously from the ground below. It released a horrendous smell, like the burning pools, and smoke seemed to come off it in huge clouds of yellow steam. Stinking water dripped off it, and it was quickly clear that where the drips landed, they made up the pools from below the slope of the mountain, and in some of the precise spots, geysers erupted upwards. It was almost painful to look at, with a burning sickly light so bright that everything else, even Chaghalsi’s ever-changing home, and the tiny lights of the single eyes of her many followers paled into insignificance.
“Hello, little wolf.” The bird had a booming voice with a heavy rasp in it, and Sonsee had never been more terrified in her life, and could not imagine so much fear before at just three words. “My land. I burn, I boil, I bake. Destroy. You step in my pool, you burn. You trespass in my water, you boil. You spoil my fire, you bake.
“Stay away from my water, you fine. My lakes for me, land for little wolves. Cold water for little wolves, hot water for me. Little wolf that goes in my lake dies, they burn, they boil, they bake. You stay out, you fine.” The voice got lower, louder, raspier throughout his speech.
It took many minutes for Sonsee to get her words out through her fear, and then she had to howl as loud as she could to even feel like her voice vaguely compared. It sounded pitiful, like a pup’s first whimper afterwards.
“What is your name, Spirit?!”
“I am Ltsooy-Tuu, spirit of the burning water.” He seemed both angered and surprised to have encountered, even in dreams, anything brave enough to question him.
“Great Ltsooy-Tuu, we pledge never to taint your waters, bar with those that first taint us and you may do with them what you will!”
The bird spirit gave off a laugh that made thunder sound like leaves falling, and Sonsee was sure that there was a real sound of a huge quantity of snow shifting thanks to the noise of it. “Little wolf thinks I need permission to punish trespassers! Ltsooy-Tuu needs no permissions! But I hold you to your pledge, little-brave-one. Now go!”
The spirit flapped its wings once, sending searing water towards Sonsee. She yowled in pain as the heat of it consumed her, even in dreams.
Her eyes snapped open in the cave. She quickly checked herself over, but there were no signs of the injuries of the scalding water on herself. In her dream she had rolled a little ways away from Qaluun. She hoped for his piece of mind that he had not encountered the same spirit.
She considered that they might have to travel onwards after that, for a few moments, now seeing the danger they faced from the very land itself. But, if that was a guardian of this land, they would surely never be destroyed, and Ltsooy-Tuu had chosen to speak to her and not just smite them down, so it was a good omen, she was sure. They just had to be very careful.

Qaluun looked at the pile. They’d need to make sure it was bigger than that for the pups to have plenty of food. They’d only been here a month and Sonsee’s pups would still not be likely to arrive for a few months, so they should be safe to go hunting again. She still seemed shaken from whatever dream it was that had been sent to her on their first night here, and since their first day, whenever they had been together, Sonsee had not allowed Qaluun to head anywhere near to the burning pools. She had yet to say why, and he almost wished she was planning not to, for if she were that terrified, he dreaded to think the effect it would have on himself.
Qaluun was more concerned for her pups, however. He didn’t want there to be any harm coming to their pups for her over-exerting herself. But he was even more concerned about there not being enough food. He would trust her judgements, and he prayed that Taqundi would understand why they needed her to hunt now for their pups and keep them safe and strong.

(I just got really musey for writing about a spirit encounter with something absolutely horrifying, I promise that won’t be a common thing. If I make a vision actually do anything, it will only be as a sort of reconciling actions thing, like the pups part of the vision there.)

Sorry for doing this, I really doubt that it's an actual issue, but I just got a warning about art theft for using a clearly sourced image, with the search I did for it being from a recommended page about avoiding art theft, and given the standing of that, I feel like removing any images from my posts is the best course for me not being banned. It might be best to save on a Word document the images of the wolves I get assigned if my descriptions of the wolves don't suit for purposes.

Silver Moon Pack

Aspen and Ashka walked side by side, their pelts brushing. The forest was quiet. All that could be heard was the leaves crunching beneath their feet, their gentle breaths, and the occasion song of a bird. It brought back memories of when they had first met.

Aspen had just turned 12 months old. He was waiting for that day his whole life. He never really felt like he belonged in his pack, which was rather harsh and cruel compared to other packs he had come across. Finally a year old he could leave to start his own pack. Ashka on the other hand had been exiled from her pack. A young wolf's body had been found and based on his and Ashka's not so great relationship she was without a moment's hesitation exiled. Of course she didn't actually kill the wolf but she suspected that her pack just wanted an excuse to get rid of her. A friendly and cheerful wolf was in no way welcome within the ranks of hardened wolves who resorted to fighting without a second thought. She was actually glad she was exiled. She didn't know how much longer she would have lasted in that pack. After being exiled it wasn't long before she met Aspen.

Aspen nudged the she-wolf, snapping her from her thoughts. "Are you okay?" He asked in a concerned voice. "You were staring at that rock like you thought it was going to get up and walk away."

Ashka looked up from the rock she had been staring at. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said with a smile. She was more than fine actually. She was with the wolf she loved most on a beautiful day and they were making plans for pups.

"Are you sure," he asked. "If you're having second thoughts..."

She stopped him there. "No second thoughts," she assured him. "There's nothing I want more than to start a pack with you," she said. Aspen cared a lot and that was part of what made Ashka love him so much. She knew he would never want her to do something she didn't truley want to but she also knew that he knew she wouldn't go through with something she didn't want to do.

"Alright," he said, convinced. "Let's get this hunting finished then we can search for a den."

Ashka smiled and set her mind to the task although she couldn't help her thoughts wandering away occasionally to thoughts of pups and she felt a warm excitement for what was to come.

hermione would have her pups in a month, if not soon. this didn't stop her from wanting to hunt though. "i plan on always contributing to the growth of astral pack." she said sternly. jay had suggested letting him hunt alone until the pups were old enough to help. "it'll be dangerous. what if you hurt the pups?" he said worriedly. "i'll be fine." hermione repeated for the third time. it was settled. there would be no further argument; hermione would hunt today. "let's go." she said, brushing past jay.
