BORDER PATROLS
•velcar's patrol encounters literally nothing of interest on their patrol. it was surprisingly calm and quiet, allowing the patrol-members to just enjoy a few moments of peace.
•ban's patrol encounters a herd of sheep who have been spooked by a dragon flying overhead, looking to find its next meal. the herd of sheep pretty much bolted in the nearest direction in an attempt to flee, not at all being spatially aware of the patrol of people in their path. (see below for the break down of injuries and needed treatments).
as the patrol is trying to avoid the herd's path, ban spots a tiny lamb struggling at the back of the herd, with the dragon barreling down, ready to take it. ban uses his magical ability to snatch the lamb up safely (he can take it back to the village), but he gets a bit of the dragon's anger redirected at him, suffering from facial burns from the dragon's fire.

xxxxx↬merlin sprains one of his legs as he tries to run, and needs to be seen by the shamans or to rest for 2 posts.

•genie's patrol encounters a protective mother fox with a singular older pup. while the mother fox focuses its anger on the closest person, which just so happens to be joey, the pup tries to help its mother by attacking the person who tries to help joey, which is erze. erze manages to throw off the fox pup, but not after getting bodily scratches that will require x1 post of rest or a visit to the shaman. joey however is not as lucky, and genie manages to scare the mother fox off, but not before it nicked an important artery; his patrolmates watch as joey bled out before their eyes.

- Chai shows off his rad new scars to his friends. He says its a shame he lost some of his tattoos to it, but that this looks really cool too, so it's fine.
- He also says it's pretty neat to get out of a dragon attack alive and that's pretty cool
- While traveling around the docks looking for any stuff Chai dropped, Niran spots someone staring at them. Naturally they approach. The person they spotted runs, but eventually Niran catches them up. They look like they've seen a ghost. They manage to slip away before Niran can get an explanation from them.

--Kopemi hides how much he is truly hurt after the dragon encounter, Sern squinting his eyes and suspecting the scout might be more hurt than he let on, but not skilled enough or confident enough to criticize Kopemi's word, taking his affirmation of being okay at face value. Still, the healer has him rest for a while, not wanting to hurt himself more.
--New baby foxes bring joy to the villagers of Aura Enclave, especially Nidene and Winnifred, who seem to grow younger at the sight of the new additions to the village.
--Sasuke is a bit upset at Ardeki for forgetting to start his testing of different jobs, always saying 'I want you to try warrior-ship first' despite having no warriors. Finally, years later, Sasuke starts, but the young tiefling is peeved at who he thinks as his adoptive dad, giving him the silent treatment. He just wants to find his calling in life, without the help of the auras.

•takeshi's patrol encounters a feral cat colony. while their patrol-mates face the brunt of the angry cats attack, myles manages to grab a single kitten, which he quickly passes of to axel who races away from the colony as quickly as possible. neither of the men have any wounds or injuries from the cats, although myles does go back once he sees axel is far enough away, so that he can help takeshi get away as the cats finally retreat into their colony home.
xxxxx↬takeshi is majorly injured with a broken arm, as a particularly nasty tom-cat took a disliking for her and latched on pretty tight; she felt his teeth as they punctured a bone. takeshi needs 3 posts of rest and to be seen by the shamans.
xxxxx↬madoka saw a litter of young kittens with no apparent mother nearby, and as she tried to reach into the nest to sneakily grab one of the kittens, the mother appeared and attacked her to defend its kittens. madoka manages to fling the cat away, but not without spraining her arm, which is also covered in scratches and bites. madoka needs 2 posts of rest or to be seen by the shamans.

- The group manage to track down the person who was following Niran, and enlist them
- They're from a gang, and they witnessed something a few years ago
- They refer to Niran by another name.
- They say Niran was a gang member too, and that they were pulling a heist and betrayed the group to steal some ominous stuff from the others.
- They were then killed by the others, as payback, by command of the gang's leader.
- Actually they were trying to make sure that this ominous stuff couldn't be used on anyone else... instead, being exposed to it at the time of their death let them come back.
- Their body was buried to keep what happened secret.
- The new person says that they'll be killed too if they save Niran. Chai offers them a chance to leave the gang. They accept.
- Five people aren't a match for a whole gang, so instead they notify the city watch.
- It's time to leave, now.
- Niran spends some time with the new person being introduced to at least some of their new memories, but they don't see themself as the same person as they were before, and refuse to take on their old name again.
- A few months of investigating what they want about their past is enough, and Niran is now ready to move on.
