• it seems that working with angus on his fears and calming his nerves has greatly helped! the staff start to notice that he is less jumpy along the trails, and he even takes some enjoyment into the experience. the training has really paid-off.

• karo is healing very well from his injuries. the process has been slow, but the staff start to notice his personality slightly peeking-out from behind the fearful front that he normally has. he has become more playful at times, and more cuddly with the staff that he is closest to. there is still quite a bit of work to be done, however, but the results so far seem trusting.

• the puppies are lively and always find a way to entertain themselves! they are starting to become quite the favorites among the shelter. overtime, however, the staff see their curiosity toward the older canines grow. it shouldn't be long before they can be introduced and start caging together!

• lotus, despite her current condition, seems to be settling very well into her new environment. she is rather lazy and spends most of her days lounging about, as is expected, but she never refuses a cuddle from the staff who she has come to know and recognize very well. in just one more month, she'll be ready to give birth!

• the bayleaf palms animal shelter receives a call from a woman one evening, and with a shaky voice, she admits that she has been struggling for money and has been unwillingly neglecting her poor animals. she has been forced to give up her animals in this way, as she doesn't want to watch them suffer any longer. the staff agree to drive over with their trailer and transport the animals in the morning.

↪ as the staff arrive, the woman leads them to her stables where the horses have been rounded-up for easy transport. within one of the stalls, a halflinger mare lies rather still in the bedding of her stall. she stands when the staff approach, but they immediately notice that she is rather thin and emaciated, likely dehydrated. the owner admits that she has been in the worst condition out of all of the animals. if she is taken to the shelter, it is recommended that she should be taken to the vet so further treatment can be issued.

↪ the second stall holds a much healthier irish draught gelding, who greets the staff much more enthusiastically. he is in much better condition than the halflinger, but he is still rather thin and needs a good grooming. he doesn't seem to need any medical attention, though, and really just some good ol' tlc.

↪ the final stall holds a large clydesdale who also seems in decent condition. they don't too enthusiastic upon the staff's arrival, but they are compliant and allow themselves to be lead away from the stable as the others have been.

↪ finally, as the staff are readying to leave, the owner comes running, carrying two crates with a chorus of meows erupting from inside. these are the barn cats, two moggies (mixed cat breeds), that have lived as outdoor cats their entire lives. they are in good condition, plump with the mice they've feasted upon, but in need of interaction so that they aren't as skittish and wild.

• cassie is played with even more, what an energetic girl she is! we've noticed she becomes bored rather quickly, and staff is sure to play with her, and everybody else, frequently.
• shira is cuddled with, and offered one of those feather-bell sticks to play with. she seems to like it!
• staff praise angus, and themselves, for successful training. he is taken out on another ride, this time, a bit longer and farther. as we approach a nice, green clearing, we change out his snaffle bridle, to a bitless bridle, and he is given an opportunity to munch on the succulent grass.
• karo is played with and loved on, although staff are sure to not push it upon him, as he is still rather cautious.
• everest and falcon are played with even more, and staff decide to safely introduce the two to kassie to begin the process, the youngest canine, and most lively (besides the puppies). the three hit it off, after a short period of sniffing, and are chasing each other, toys, and staff around tirelessly!
• excitement builds up as staff notice lotus adjusting wonderfully to her environment, and are reminded of her due date, soon to come! how exciting. she is also, offered toys, although she is much more content to lounge on the cat tower and window in the sun, and to be cuddled with.
• honey, the emaciated halflinger, is taken to the vets.
• staff begin adjusting all new arrivals to their new homes! what lovely additions. once they are comfortable, interaction will begin.
• staff members go looking for more animals in need!

• after observing rocky, the staff decide to take her to the vet to try and find out what's going on. (-3)
• all of the goats have been getting along well with each other, forming a herd of the sorts, but rue
and her three kids are kept separate from the herd momentarily as they are still rather young.
however, they will be integrated into the group once they are old enough to venture outdoors.
• whiskey and forrest are introduced to each other and seem friendly enough, spending their days
grazing together in the pasture. they are checked-on and fed daily, even having their long, silky
hair combed and brushed every now and then to remove the knots, matting, and other debris.
• sable, mabel, and label love the attention from the staff as they bound about playfully, but their
protective mother, rue, is always present to remind them when it's time to stop playing.
• winter and rocky have been separated as rocky is taken to the vet to inspect her condition, but
the silkie seems to be faring just fine without her companion and clucks about her pen as usual.
• the staff set-out in search of more animals in need of any help, care, and rescuing.

❧Gertrude the box turtle takes to her new tank with what can only be assumed is joy. She seems to take great pleasure in sunning herself on the sandy section of the tank when she isn't swimming around

❧The bearded dragons are taken in, and named Al and Betty

❧Al and Betty are put into a large glass terrarium full of sand in the same building as Harry, and are set up with two large heat lamps over the screen lid.
❧Noodles is brought back to the Resort, and is introduced to a large wodden vivarium, with a few mini caves and some artificial plants that looks like ones that grow in the area,
❧Gertrude spends lots of time swimming around in her tank, and loves to sun herself whenever she can
❧The staff try interacting with Harry more, hoping to get him used to people again so they can get him acting well enough to be able to go home to a new family.
