♣️ Black Dawn Herd ♣️

As Abacus patrolled the area he came across this seemingly old looking stallion. He came closer slowly to reveal himself in the sunlight, this stallion had a large white blaze on him, three white socks, and some whiting all over. Abacus, confuses as can be, questioned him.
“What’s your name?”
“Uh, it’s Squeaks, sir”
“I’m Abacus, leader of Black Dawn Herd”
“Oh you’re the leader? I was trying to seek out the leader of Black Dawn Herd to join it!”
“What do you offer for my herd?”
“I’m strong and good for protection others!”
“But you look old...”
“I’m only three, Sir”
“Oh, that changes that then, welcome to my herd.”

Abacus toured the territory for Squeaks to get used to seeing it. After some time, he brought him back to met his lady, and colt. “Squeaks, meet my mare, Scarlette, and our son, Tiberius.”

After the introductions, Abacus pulled Scarlette aside asking her to monitor the new stallion and alert him if anything suspicious came up. She nodded. She clearly understood, she didn’t want another stallion attempting to over-throw Abacus.

“I’ll be back, Squeaks, stand guard”

The stallion raced off into the distance, checking his boarders once more before the sun sets.

It is now summer, and you are
more likely to run into wranglers on patrol. Rogue
herds will be trying to settle on your territory, so
best keep an eye out for pesky stallions and mares.
Flood are still likely, but droughts are even more
so. Grass will start to shrivel up, due to the lack of
water supply. You will still receive new potential
herd members, but not as many as you would
receive in spring.

Number of Horses: two (2)

Rionnag had found the dark stallion near the border, lazily roaming the rivers edge. Rionnag's fiat instinct was blind rage and he began to charge the stranger but stopped short - he was looking for more horses... this lone stallion could serve him well. Soon enough he knew the stranger as Oíche.

Oíche was quite different from Rionnag - snarky, vain, and a tad arrogant. Rionnag tried his best to keep his mouth shut.

"So, how does it fell to be the deputy of what will soon be the best herd in the entire Valley?" Emori snorted and shook her mane out as Tarnish trotted up to her. They stood overlooking their lands from the mountain. It had to be late afternoon but only Rogan (Count Rogan, to be specific), had been out on patrol. The seemingly always grumpy stallion and his rumbly voice had been out since mid-morning on account of Tarnish and Emori "acting like fools", which only made them crack up even more.

"We're the only herd in the Valley, hay-brain." She deadpanned, but gently bumped his shoulder with hers. Tarnish rolled his eyes and straightened his neck. Emori couldn't help but notice the way the sun lit up his tan coat and made his brown eyes shine. He had said something to her. And now he was looking at her with those big brown eyes of his. She blinked and flicked her ears. "I-I need to go." She exclaimed suddenly, backing up and turning so that she didn't see the confusion or the hurt.

"Emori?"

She didn't respond, galloping away to get her head out of the clouds.

The Herd of Stolen Souls is located in on the edge of a plain region with a dense forest to the north. The forest keeps the herd cooled off in the hot summer days and somewhat protected from strong winds and weather. The herd loves to spend most of their time out in the open plain, however, since that is where they find the most freedom to explore and romp.

The herd respects independence and problem solving. Patrols are vital as they are seen as a time to prove themselves to the herd. Herd members strive to be seen as strong leaders but to also know their own place in the hierarchy.
