Whisperstar smiled slightly as she watched her new Deputy Whitefoot walk off towards the river at the western border. He was off to hunt, while she was going to head towards the North Border to patrol. Her raven tail fluttered in the wind as the breeze caught hold of her long fur, and played with it as she walked.

Whitefoot trotted along happily. Lunarclan was amazing! Though there was something off about Whisperstar. She seemed to have this..quiet sadness about her that he didn't understand. Ah well, she would reveal what was wrong at some point. No cat can keep a secret forever after all. Well...unless they die before they tell it. But Whisperstar had said something about spirit ancestors, so hey! They had to spill the mouse guts at some point. It was just a matter of waiting it out.

Otterpaw laid in the entrance to the medicine cat den, a grumpy look on her face as she watched her clanmates move around camp. "You'll get your warrior name soon." Otterpaw looked up briefly to see that her mother was coming towards her.

"No I won't." Otterpaw mewed. Squirrelstar sighed, resting her tail on her daughter's back.

"You will, I promise. We just have to wait until your chest cold has cleared up."

Mossvine laid curled up in her nest, her gaze soft as she watched the tiny black and white bundle squirming against her flank. The white she-cat leaned forward, nuzzling the tiny tom. The tom squeaked, his tiny paws batting at Mossvine's muzzle. Dapplewing would be proud... She thought.

She stiffened slightly when she felt a nose nudge her tortoiseshell marked back. The queen turned her head to see Smokespeck behind her, peering over her back to look at the kit at his mate's stomach. "What do you want to name him?" Smokespeck asked.

"Hurricanekit.." Mossvine mewed, licking the top of the kit's head. Dapplewing said he would've named one of his kits that if he hadn't become the medicine cat... If only he had known...

Lichenstar idly sat on a river rock, gazing at the minnows swimming by. What was missing? He had everything he needed- food, water, and shelter. But he still felt that there was a greater purpose in his life- and it struck him. That's it! He'd heard of these things called 'clans' springing up everywhere, maybe he could make one too! He got up and shook out his pelt. Lichenstar scented the air, trying to find the path the cats took to the place called the Moonpool. He caught the scent and tracked it.
A while later, he was there. Lichenstar knelt down and closed his eyes. I am Lichenstar, leader of the newly formed Strikeclan. I am in need of cats, and I wish that you will send me one. Please, send an apprentice. I will care for her and teach her the ways of Strikeclan.

Oatstar awoke early to head out to the moonpool and request a deputy - they would need one soon to help organize patrols and keep everything running smoothly. As she reached the moonpool, she took a deep breath and reached her nose to touch the rippling waters and a feeling of calmness washed over her as she succumbed to the darkness.

Flashback to earlier that day, Oatstar asked Pinefur if he would be so kind as to patrol the borders as well as bring back any prey he might come across. The kind medicine cat, of course, agreed immediately and set out into the woods shortly after Oatstar.

Aspenleaf audibly groaned as she spotted none other than Russetfall coming her way in his flirty manor that he failed to see was not working. The medicine cat muttered under her breath, getting a laugh from her apprentice. "What do you find so funny?" "Oh nothing, nothing." Hearthflame shook his head, but still looked on the verge of laughing. "Oh nothing." "It better be. Now, let's hurry out before he reaches me..." She said lowly. Hearthflame had to hold back another laugh as Aspenleaf pretended not to see Russetfall as the two padded straight past him and out of the camp. The tom, who had been smiling all the while, finally let it go as he saw her pad right past him. Maybe she didn't see him? Well that's what he chose to think. Russetfall sighed, another attempt ruined by bad luck. "You know it hurts to watch you do this to yourself..." Came the voice of Blackstreak, sliding up beside his friend, eyes on the entrance of the camp where Aspenleaf just exited. "Do what?" "She obviously wants nothing to do with you Russetfall." "Psh. She's just playing hard to get. She wants me-" "NO SHE DOESN'T!" Blackstreak suddenly shouted, making silence fall over the clan as they all eyed the dark tom in shock and surprise. Blackstreak was normally a quiet, peaceful tom, never saying to much, always willing to help. But here he was shouting, louder than any has heard him simply speak. Russetfall even taken back as his demeanor and smile simply fell, more so than when Aspenleaf ignored him. "Blackstreak? Are you o-" "I'm fine! I'm just-.. I'm gonna go for a walk." Was all he said before turning and stalking off. Russetfall was both confused and a little upset watching his best friend leave, but he couldn't find any words to say. What could have upset him so badly?

Blackstreak honestly couldn't believe Russetfall was so blind to miss what was right in front of him. No matter what the tom did, no matter how close or how many signs he threw his friends way, he just couldn't get the simple fact that he loved him to that tom. It honestly made him want to cry or scream or..... something. I'll just go for a run... He thought himself, always feeling way less stressed after exerting all his energy from running. Just as he braced himself for the run, his sister came walking out of the bushes and right into him. "Owie...." "Ouch.." They said at the same time, rubbing their slightly pained head and side. "What in the name of the moon are you doing out here Whitenose?" Blackstreak hissed softly to his sister, licking his ruffled fur down. The white molly continued to rub her nose for a bit before trying to think of a reason other than seeing Smokeclaw. "I was actually looking for you. Sorry for running into you though." "Looking for me? What for?" "Well... What would you say about being an uncle?" She asked, smiling. Blackstreak stared at her for a while, green eyes gazing and trying to gauge what the heck she was talking about. Then those same green eyes widened as he finally made the connection. "Are you-" "I am." She purred in response to his agape maw. "Wait how?" "Well, when a molly and a tom love each other very much-" "Not that mouse brain! I mean how! With who?" Blackstreak demanded, glancing from her blue eyes to her stomach as if it would answer her question. It didn't but that didn't seemed to stop the black tom from trying. "Is it Brackenfern? You two are pretty close." He guessed, knowing that those two were best friends the instant the shy tom joined Soulclan. Though, becoming mates so fast would be a bit much. "No it isn't." She said, making Blackstreak sigh in relief. His sister was smarter than he, as a brother, assumed. "I want to tell you but... can it wait for a while?" She asked, ears drooping a bit as she looked at him with wide eyes that told him to simply 'wait for it'. The black tom hesitated for a moment, worried about who could be the father and lover to his little sister and nd only family. But he also didn't want to pry too much and push her away. "Alright. But promise to tell me?" "Oh dear stars of course! You know I can't keep anything from you!" Whitenose giggled, stepping up and nuzzling against him and purring and day thing little. "Thank you for understanding brother." She smiled before turning to go back to camp. But she paused. "Oh! And when you get back, you have to tell me what's wrong. Something's got you upset and I need to know. Ok, bye." She mewed, leaving a surprised black warrior staring after her. Of course she could tellsomething was up. They were twins after all. Blackstreak sighed and smiled, shaking her head after her before turning to go off for a run.

Cinderblaze smiled as Asptail mentioned Claywhistle always asking for her. It made her happy to know she had such a close friend like that somewhere else in the world. Though her smile didn't last for long as she scented the sickening smell of blood and cat sight of the bloody image before her. She stumbled back, frightened, disgusted, angered, and horrified all at once. A fox, a kit, the signs were clear as day. The scent stabbed at her nose and made her dizzy. She wanted to vomit but she somehow didn't. Cinderblaze opened her mouth to speak but stopped immediately as Asptail beat her to it. "What? No, Asptail let me help." But he didn't seem to here her as he turned off without a word. "Asptail wait! Asptail!" She called. Her words fell on death ears though as he was out of sight. SheShe watched his form disappear before looking sadly only to see the horrific image once again. She turned away from it, padding back to her camp slowly, wobbling from the scene now burned in her mind. "There you are Cinderblaze! We were just looking for you!" "Yea, Join us for hunting!" Firestrike and Ashfur said as they looked back and from their small group a little ways away. She was going to decline, thoughts still on the Asptail and the poor kit that perished in Beechclan but... "Y-Yea sure." She and agreed eventually, wanting to get that distasteful image from her mind. Sadly... it wasn't working...

Doeheart sat nuzzled around her new ball of fluff, a brown tabby molly that was relatively small. The small flash of light entering the nursery made the queen glance up to see Brackenfern coming in with a mouse just for her. She smiled at him. He had always brought something to eat for her ever sense that day and made her happy every time. He was such a great tom. "Hello there Brackenfern." "Hi Doeheart." He said, dropping the mouse by her paws and siting down gently a little ways away aways to respect her space. The brown tom looked over the kit with a soft smile on his lips before looking at Doeheart. "She's adorable." "Thank you. I named her Tiny. Tinykit." She smiled looking from him to the small kit and giving her a few lick on her head. "A cute name too." Brackenfern chuckled causing the queen to join in too. "Now you're just flattering her. Don't boost her ego now as a newborn." "Ah man. I was so ready to spoil her too." He teased. Doeheart oddly blushed at that a bit but looked away to groom Tinykit again to hide it. When said kit began to let out her little cries of hunger Brackenfern got to his paws. "I guess that's my cue. Take care ok? If you need anything just ask." He smiled kindly before leaving, but not before nudging the mouse he brought closer to the speckled queen. "Oh, and make sure you eat."

Thistlethorn watched as her apprentice ran off to go tell her siblings about what she had learned during their training. The warrior had to admit that, for a sick kit, she sure was a fast learner. Which would only serve Thistlethorn's purpose all the more. Nettlefoot approached her sister and nudged her slightly. "What are you plotting sister dearest?" She asked in that sweet voice of hers that was heavy with false truth. Thistlethorn smirked as she turned her gaze to her sister saying nothing as if telling her a secret without words. Nettlefoot seemed to get it though as her sweet smile switched to that of as devious smirk. "What do you need me to do?" She asked, clearly ready for whatever plot her sister created. "Think you can find me some death berries sis?" "Of course. Leave it to me." She nodded. "Some yarrow too if you can. Or at least lead the medicine cats to it. This will be a battle of resilience." Nettlefoot nodded before the sisters shared in quiet devious laughter, then she left, beginning her search. Though.. what did yarrow look like?

Jaystar sighed as she gazed at the moon then down to the pool that it shimmered upon. Leaf-bare was around the corner and she was worried about her clan's safety. Her nose touched the water and her eyes closed briefly before they opened to the starry cats in front of her now. "Hello my ancestors. Thank you for your continued support in Soulclan's rising. We are many, we are strong. And wig out you, we would be nothing. So thank you. I have actually come to ask of you for a new friend. An ally of sorts. Not for me no, maybe another clan would be willing to be friends. An ally clan is all I ask for today. Thank you Starclan. Thank you."

Wolfstar yawned as he made his way out of his deb. The shadows of Hollowclan were a light gray as the sun seeped through the large willow trees all around them. His amber eyes school scanned the quiet camp until he found the thick gray coat of his medicine cat, Honeygaze. The she-cat was busy grooming herself in the middle of the camp next to the barren fresh-kill pile. Wolfstar frowned. He needed to go hunting or the only other cat in his clan was going to starve.

"Good morning, Honeygaze." He meowed as he approached the she-cat. Honeygaze lifted her head and sat up straight, her amber eyes closing in a gesture of greeting. "Greetings, Wolfstar." She said, "You have something to ask me?"

Wolfstar cocked his head. The medicine cat was already beginning to surprise him. "Um, yes. I was wondering if you'd like to go on patrol with me? Perhaps on the way back we can look for herbs or catch some prey?"

"Of course, Wolfstar. Lead the way."

After Palefur, it was Appleblossom's turn to kit. For some reason the look on Darkmask's face was furious. Like he was, mad at Palefur. She shrugged it off, she's having kits, what's better then that? Cinderleaf padded over, " Hello, you ready? " Appleblossom gave a nod, " Hopefully. "

Rosepaw watched as Oakpaw ran into camp. She sprinted over to her brother. " I need to tell you something.. " They both said in unison. " After training we can meet up, ok? " Oakpaw nodded as the two followed after Hawkpaw and their mentors.

Luckystar knew after that training session, her kits would become warriors. She hated that she had to delay their warriorship, but they ran off somewhere. Luckystar shook her head and padded over to her mate. " Eagletalon, I am going off to the moonpool. I will return as quickly as I can. " Eagletalon nodded, and nuzzled his mate.

Darkmask and Palefur sit in the other side of the den to name the kits. " Why didn't you save the fourth! Why! " He snarled at Palefur." I-it's not my fault! We couldn't " " Stop with the excuses! I will name that black kitten, you name the two others." Darkmask examined the kit, Ugly! Why couldn't she have better genes.. he thought. " Y-you'll be Fawnkit, a-and you will be Owlkit. " she wearily meowed. Darkmask nudged the black kitten, he burst into tears. " This one should be Weakkit!- no, Cursedkit. Palefur let out a gasp, " That's not fair to him! " she meowed. when sunstar emerged from his den of thick and tangled tree roots off to the side of the clearing that made up the flightclan
camp, a breeze stirred the air and rustled the leaves in the trees over his head. his nose twitched when he gave the air a curious
sniff, before he continued on his way across the empty clearing to where palewhisper had claimed his space. there, a large boulder
leaned heavily against another great tree, and it was in the space between the two that he found the smaller medicine cat curled
up, obviously having dozed off with his chin on his forepaws and tail wrapped neatly around his body. amused, the larger ginger tom
prodded his only clanmate gently with his paw. "palewhisper," he started when the other's ear twitched ever so slightly.
"sunstar?" palewhisper asked, at last blinking one eye open to peer up at his leader. immediately, he shook his head vigorously and
pushed himself into a sitting position. "what is it? is everything okay?"
with a certain fondness for the friend he had come to know over the past moon, sunstar dipped his head in a nod, not missing the way
palewhisker's gaze raked the clearing behind him, as if expecting some problem to burst through the entrance. "all is well, sorry i
woke you," he assured, his amusement with the young medicine cat only increasing with the way his posture relaxed then. "i'm going
hunting, and wanted to see if you'd like to join me." over the past moon, the two had become rather close as friends, so it seemed,
spending their time in one another's company as an attempt to ignore the way the rest of the camp was dismal and empty around
them from a lack of other clan members.
immediately, palewhisper let out a playful purr, dipped his head to bump it against sunstar's shoulder. "sunstar, i'm not one of your
warriors. i'm not skilled with hunting, and i think i'd chase off all of your prey."
in a act of retaliation, sunstar swiped gently at his friend, which was easily dodged by simply ducking out of the way. "i don't doubt you.
but it's lonely out there. you can dig for your leaves and i can chase prey." a roll of light gray eyes was all the agreement sunstar
needed to flick his tailtip and lead his medicine cat out into the thick woods that made up their territory.

SwiftClan cats have a tendency to not trust anyone until they have proven themselves, but do not show this mistrust in their actions, and many cats have believed themselves to be highly trusted when they are actually known to be plotting against the clan, and the cats of SwiftClan are simply awaiting the perfect moment to reveal the truth.
