When you go to get a ladder, there will be another random pet ready to fight you. so you must eat that pet so she/he can appear on your roof. But dont worry, when they are on your roof, they wont fight you.

Well, for instance, first you examine the pets that they are trading. Then after that start dancing like a baboon. Then move your mouse to your pet. Then you get out of your chair and sit down again. It will then be accepted.
