location Wheatclan’s territory is a large pine forest covered in a perpetual mist, the terrain is rocky and uneven. In the northwestern part of the territory lies an overgrown, abandoned church, which the clan calls their home.
In the northeastern section lies a large wheat field which extends far past the clan’s border. A majority of the hunting happens in the pine forest but warriors will stray out into the stalks to catch a stray chicken or mouse. Between the camp and the field lies a small, mossy hollow surrounded by thick holly bushes. The hollow has a soft, springy moss floor, perfect for training apprentices.
Farther past the wheat field lies a barn and a farm house, the majority of loners the clan finds come from the barn. Close to the southern border lies a long thunderpath that extends for miles in either direction. Kittypets rarely show up on Wheatclan’s territory but when they do they mostly end up in the forest after twolegs dump them on the side of the road.
Between the wheat field and the road lies a good-sized graveyard. The graveyard is peppered with weathered rocks of varying sizes, flowers and other plants haphazardly growing in the spaces between the stones. Wheatclan uses this graveyard for their own dead and uses it to contact the ghosts that roam their territory.
The church that Wheatclan calls their home has two stories and a basement. The ground floor hosts the dens while the second floor is used as storage mostly. The basement is rarely entered, some cats warning that it is in fact haunted. On the ground floor, in the middle of the church, is a large dark hole that falls straight into the basement.

beliefs Wheatclan doesn’t follow Starclan. Not because of lack of belief, they know very well they exist, but for lack of respect. Why follow every word from a group of ancestors that aren’t even your own and don’t seem to be any wiser then you. Despite not following them, Wheatclan did lift some rules from Starclan’s clan for their own clan. For example, they kept the elders and kits must be fed first but threw out the no half-clan relationship rule.
Instead of talking to Starclan, Wheatclan officiates higher ranks and requests new members from the ghosts that roam their territory. The ghosts can’t interact with the cats directly but can interact with the environment (shaking tree branches, rustling grass, etc). The clan cats have to sleep in the graveyard to contact them.

tradition Wheatclan doesn’t have many traditions but they do have one.
Instead of the leader having full control over the choice for deputy, the clan votes between a few of its warriors for the position. All ranks, besides kits, are allowed to vote. The leader gets the final say in deputy, but any cat can challenge the current deputy at any time.

appearances Wheatclan warriors tend to be darker or medium colors to better blend in with the environment; lighter colors rarely show up.

GENERAL.
the foxglove court stakes its claim within a grand castle and its surrounding verdant forests and rolling hills. they coexist with the land's human caretakers in relative indifference and try to keep out of their way, though its not uncommon for cheeky young knights to dare their companions to try and cozy up to one. in spring and summer, the court lives in a sheltered woodland just outside castle grounds, sleeping in well-crafted dens and weaving wildflowers in their nests. when the first chill of autumn settles, the court begins to migrate indoors and nest in the castle's flower garden - the clan's most vulnerable sleeping in the garden shed.

alongside their indifference to humans, another major difference between the foxglove court and a traditional clan is their hierarchy. the court has long been ruled by one major royal family - the king, queen, or ruler, and their mate consort. their oldest kit is hailed heir apparent from the moment of their birth, unless the royals see greater promise in their littermates or in one of their younger litters. rulers do not gain nine lives from any higher being, as they haven't been able to speak to their ancestors in many, many seasons, so their lives are highly valued.

the court celebrates the return of spring with a grand festival where the general mood is cheerful as cats bond, eat, and play together from dawn till midnight. as part of their annual tradition, the court celebrates the return of spring by honoring their ancestors' work as castle mousers and send their knights to scour the castle halls to find and catch as many mice as they can and discard them once the day ends, as mice are hunted for sport rather than food.

spring and summer is when the court truly shines as they feel closest to nature. members of the royal family are traditionally named after flowers and attach their namesake flower petals to their pelts. the spring festival, as well as the royal family's devotion to flowers, are all in tribute to one of their old gods - in hopes that maybe they'll wake up and dance with them again one day in spirit.

these cats are quite protective of their community, and while they wouldn't turn a blind eye to any strays who are interested in joining, they err on the side of caution when it comes to established clans and kingdoms. to secure an allyship with the court, they need their potential ally to understand that they're on equal ground with each other, lest they withdraw their invitation.

RANKS.
KING, QUEEN, RULER ─ court equivalent to leader; these cats oversee all of the foxglove court alongside their mate, the king, queen, ruler consort.

CROWN PRINCE, PRINCESS, PRINCET ─ the chosen heir of the court, the rulers's other kits simply lack the 'crown' in their title.

LORD, LADY, NOBLE ─ court equivalent to deputy; these cats are the rulers's chosen protectors and closest confidants. they offer guidance in times of need and their kits (should they have any) are automatically hailed as the protectors of the royal family's kits.

PRIEST ─ court equivalent to medicine cat; skilled in the art of healing wounds, mental and physical. priests are known recluses and hardly interact with the court unless needed. to become a preist's squire, the young cat in question needs to prepare themselves for a life of solitude.

KNIGHTS ─ court equivalent to warrior; these cats defend the borders, catch food for their court, and dedicate their lives to the crown. they are the heart of the court and are highly respected.

SQUIRES ─ court equivalent to apprentice; from the age of six moons all pages are assigned a teacher by the leading noble to educate them into well-adjusted knights of the court. training is a taxing effort, and squires aren't assessed and hailed knights until their eighteenth moon. though they can begin joining knights on patrols by their twelfth.

NURSES & PAGES ─ court equivalent to queens & kits; nurses are divided by pregnant knights, or a cat who has devoted themselves to the care of all pregnant cats and pages. the care of all young is shared by all nurses, expected to teach them about the kingdom's values until their squiring ceremony. once upon a time pages weren't assigned a special rank title and were referred as kits, until a pack of ambitious kittens got together to voice their frustrations to the ruling queen and king and demanded to be seen as equals. amused, the leaders listened by their request, and made it so that pages were in charge of cleaning up after themselves and paying close attention to their parents and nurse's teachings so that they grew up to be well-behaved squires.

VETERANS ─ court equivalent to elders; veterans are cats that are either too old to continue working for the court or deemed unable to by themselves and the priest.

NAMING SYSTEM.
PAGES are given a singular word name at birth.
(ex. goldenrod, mouse, trout, rowan)

SQUIRES, upon their naming ceremony, are given a prefix of suffix suiting the traits the kit has developed.
(ex. goldenrod sway, mouse skitter, leaping trout, proud rowan)

KNIGHTS, upon their knighting ceremony, receive a title that reflects the most notable part of their being. these titles are more a formality and aren't used in every day conversation.
(ex. goldenrod sway the valiant
mouse skitter the quiet
leaping trout the bold
proud rowan the gentle)

RULERS receive a special title upon ascension; guided by the priest, the two head deep into the heart of the forest where the new ruler is expected to choose a type of connect with. they return with their new title as a tribute to their continued relationship with nature. (ex. goldenrod sway, the poplar crown)

▶ OVERVIEW

CascadeClan shelters in a small, lush, fertile river-valley centered around a pond. The weather is mostly warm, moist, and humid. A farm can be found on the hill northwest of Cascade known as the Ricefields. Rice and wheat are grown there and it makes the perfect hunting ground. To the east of Cascade is a jungle filled with exotic creatures known as the Wildcries. It's rumored that another Clan lives deep in the tropics, but no cat of Cascade has ever met one of theirs. The jungle is the second hunting ground, but only skilled cats can go in there, as the Wildcries are a very dangerous place. Cascade cats have no dens excluding the nursery, known as the Lodge. Cascadors sleep in nests made of lush grass. All cats sleep in the same area regardless of rank; however, sick cats sometimes stay at the Estate while carrying drizzles and younger droplets remain in the Lodge. Cascade cats can be found in all colors, though some are less common than others. Grey and black-furred felines are seen often, with russet coming in as a close second. Brown is significantly rarer for whatever reason, as is cream. Solid white is much more common than partially white, though these felines rank in between greys and brown. Only shorthaired cats dare to venture in the wilds near the equator, though the occasional naive, lost, pampered kittypet can be seen failing to cross the street.
