ixxx▬red stained white. a shriveling mass of bloodied fur cowered at king's paws, orange-fire eyes wincing with any movement that was made. atlas had been killed; he'd been killed eight times, in fact, and was left with one life that he clung to viciously, the bite wound along his throat pulsing with a fresh flow of blood. "a new reign comes upon the wall street wolves," king spoke with his booming voice, sending pups skittering to their mothers, more frightful dogs ducking their heads submissively. "you have been weak before, with a leader unfit to rule," he continued, snapping down at atlas, who shrunk away.
ixxx▬larger dogs, those who'd helped king in his rise to power, prowled along the edge of the group that watched with bated breath, their lips pulled back to reveal blinding white canine teeth. strangers, those who atlas had not seen before, slunk among his kennel — a massive black newfoundland fae who snarled viciously at hestia's barely-two-moon-old pups, sending them, whining, hiding behind their mother; a belgian malinois who pulled his teeth back to reveal a sly grin at sadie, who growled sharply back at him; a doberman fae that paced eagerly, her paws antsy as she listened to king's words; another malinois who stood just behind king, his eyes flashing towards atlas; a canary mastiff who grinned viciously behind king; a doberman fae who eyed gunner, who stared blankly towards the voice that spoke; a dogo argentino fae who, too, stood beside the new leader; and a german shepherd fae that snarled at anyone who got too close to atlas's form.
ixxx▬atlas wasn't the only bloody scrap on the harsh pavement; seeley had a large bite mark upon his shoulder, given to him by axel after he'd tried to defend atlas. apollo's ear was bleeding; atlas hadn't seen who'd delivered the blow, but the irish setter cowered by his family, kept from getting too close by bane, the bull terrier.
ixxx▬"atlas has allowed filth to pollute the kennel," king began to pace, his lengthy nails tapping upon the concrete. "mutts, mixed breeds. blood has been soiled by the pure mixing." he snarled towards hestia and apollo's offspring, who whimpered once more at the snap.
ixxx▬"today," king continued. "that will change. those who have been tainted will be shamed, those who have mixed blood will be treated as they deserve; with not even the tiniest scrap of respect." his lip curled in disgust at even the thought. "those of pure blood will be revered, treated with the upmost respect; a chosen few will enforce these new rules, will keep anyone from thoughts of stepping out of line."
ixxx▬"mates will not be chosen at will; you will need to receive permission before having pups, given to you by adrestia," king gestured towards the massive black newfoundland fae who grinned sharply at him.
ixxx▬"the most elite of purebreds, such as bianca, here, and hermes ― " the doberman fae and one of the belgian malinois. "are the pure, whereas purebreds of lesser status, such as carter and admani ― " the weimaraner and the vizsla. "will provide for the kennel, hunting and patrolling the borders. the pure may choose to assist, but are not required."
ixxx▬king stepped closer to atlas, placing a paw against the ridge of atlas's spine; the shiloh shepherd groaned, a whine rising in his throat. "atlas here," king drawled, heaving more weight against the smaller canine. "will be a prisoner until he proves his loyalty," he stepped away, atlas heaving breath into his lungs.
ixxx▬with a final grin, king whirled around and padded off.

[ along with his band of rogues, king overthrows atlas and takes his place as the new ruler of the wall street wolves. he installs a new rank system, which is explained in depth here. atlas is kept as a prisoner. ]

origins. the group of dogs known as mount olympus' calling originated when a stray dog found himself in the ruins of the temple of athena
in athens, greece. while he was not a native of greece, but brought to the islands when his owners abandoned him after moving and settling
in from the debt of the country, the founder decided that he would not live his life alone. as others have done in the past, he turned to the
ancient religion. the ruins of athena's temple brought him hope, and blocked him from the elements. for weeks, he wandered the city of athens,
but found no mercy in the hearts of the humans he encountered. to his dismay, he instead crossed paths with many other dogs who had been
left to the curb. their fur was matted and their ribs stuck out from their sides from hunger. the eyes of the dogs were hopeless and lacked
spirit. in his moment of need, however, the gods came to the dog and told him that it was his destiny to move, to leave the main city, and
instead he would travel. by the constellations and divine intervention, he was told, he would find a place to live where food would be readily
available. in turn, he would gather dogs together. he would gather the lost and abandoned dogs of greece and bring them to the gods. as
a family, this group would care for one another, and they would never be abandoned again. mount olympus would call to the dogs, and they
would live a new life under the guidance and protection of the gods themselves.

territory. the dogs of olympus' calling live in and around the city of athens, greece. much of the hunting and life of the dogs takes place away
from the city. instead, the mountainous land surrounding athens serves as the home to the dogs. however, the city serves as a vital location
for the dogs, who visit often to connect better with the gods, and to recruit new members. pupils are taught how to navigate through
the vast city in groups before they become disciples. because the city serves as a part of the dogs' territory, many of the dogs who enter into
the group are strays, who were abandoned by their owners. for these dogs, learning to traverse and hunt in the forest and mountains can be
even more difficult than learning the city streets. in terms of weather, the dogs experience, on average, hot summers and mild winters.
predators towards the dogs include foxes, bears, and even wolves.

beliefs. as a group based in their religion, mount olympus' calling can be considered to be a radical group of dogs who base most of their lives
around their gods and religion. because many of the dogs come from greek culture and have a grasp of human workings, they are often very
familiar with the ancient greek gods before entering into the pack. from their understanding, the greek gods and their legends have come to
speak to them. many of their talks with the gods comes from the temple of athena, which is where the demi-god of the pack goes to conference
with their ancestors and the gods, to ask for advice or even request new members. the gods, in their beliefs, have taken on the forms of
nature, and they believe the gods abandoned the humans, who abandoned them. in dreams, the gods often take the shape of large dogs or
wolves, though it is dependent on the god and dog to which they appear (for example, zeus is said to appear as a large golden dog, hades as a
large black wolf, and so on). the temple of athena is viewed as the most sacred spot, as moun olympus first called to their founder there, but
other important locations include the theatre of dionysus, the tower of the winds, the temple of zeus, and hadrian's gate. at these spots, the
dogs feel most connected to the gods. when a dog joins the pack, it is said that the gods intercede by way of the high priest, who will then
grant them a new name from greek mythology. the new name signals a rebirth into the faith and is treated with absolute reverence.

looks. many of the dogs in the pack are mutts or of mediterranean roots. however, any dog is accepted into the pack so long as a gods approve
of said dog. roles are often given based upon a dog's size and strength. smaller dogs are often given the roles of recruiting in the city, or
could climb the ranks to become a high priest. small dogs may also serve as caregivers to give mothers the ability to return to their assigned roles
sooner. larger dogs with broader and stocky builds are called the fighters of ares, while leaner and faster dogs are called the hunters of
artemis, with the groups fighting or hunting, respectively.

roles / terms. just as the names of dogs are changed when they enter the pack, so to are the names of roles.
demi-god the leader of the pack is considered to be above the rest of the pack, holding a special connection with the gods. while they are
not necessarily related to the gods, the alpha is referred to as a demi-god.
adviser second to the demi-god and the demi-god's offspring, the adviser serves as a secondary leader. while not technically in line to lead
the pack, the adviser aids in overseeing training, recruitment, and sits in when the demi-god is unable to fill as a proper leader or is unable to
carry out the demands of the gods. if there is no heir when the demi-god dies, the adviser will fill in as leader until the gods and high priest
reveal who the next demi-god will be. in these instances, the next demi-god likely is the adviser, though not always.
heir the demi-god's offspring is considered to also be chosen by the gods. unless the gods specify otherwise, usually through intervention by
the high priest, the oldest heir will become the next demi-god.
high priest(ess) the healer of the pack who also holds a special connection to the gods. they are charged with the health of the pack, and
is often also tasked with prophecy from the gods and foretelling the best roles for a young dog as decided by the gods.
commander charged with direct command of the fighters of ares. the commander is said to have a strong connection to ares and athena and is
chosen from the fighters by the gods. is charged with ensuring the protection of all dogs and the camp.
head hunter chosen from the hunters of artemis, the head hunter is charged with overseeing all hunting and feeding the pack. the head
hunter is usually female and is said to have a strong connection to artemis.
caregivers / recruiters the smaller dogs who are not necessarily skilled in hunting or fighting may be given the unofficial role of going to
search for recruits in the city, or with taking care of the young pups while their mothers go out to carry out their official duties.
venus female dogs who have young pups not yet old enough to begin their training are referred to as "venus" and are said to have a special
connection to hera and aphrodite.

disciples all dogs of lower ranks are called disciples, as it refers to them collectively. this can refer to any dog except the demi-god, high
priest, adviser, heir, head hunter, and commander.
pupils refers to young dogs in training to become a hunter or a fighter.

* caregivers / recruiters is an unofficial rank and will not appear on posts. these dogs do have official ranks, though they are likely to be
substituted to hunt or fight depending on the needs of the pack at a given time.

xxxxx“i don’t need you on my tail, kemuel.” adlia laughed. she was curled around a tree trunk, peering backward to where a curious herbalist had followed the pregnant female as she explored the forest. the male had become, rightfully-so, increasingly worried about adlia’s health and condition since she had discovered her pregnancy, and since her stomach had begun to gradually swell more and more each day. but, maybe his worrying had become a little too intense… “oh, uh, do excuse me! i just want to make sure you are in optimal health for, well, your little ones.” he let out, talking rather too quick for the female, as she watched the other with an amused smirk. “great,” she called, turning to face away. “now i’ll have to deal with you too.” kemuel gasped to himself, looking slightly offended for a minute or so, mumbling curses under his breath. “trust me, adlia, this is your first pregnancy, and you will be thankful to me in the end when it is all over!” he defended himself.

xxxxxalready ahead was the female, her white and feathery tail flicking in a mocking momentum. “are you gonna do your job and watch me, or not?” the dog’s expression twisted into a comical scowl and he joined the female by her side, not daring to look her into the eyes as she laughed her pretty laugh, and smiled enough to light up the dark forest.

xxxxxadlia and kem eventually arrived back into the gardens, having enjoyed their time in the forest together, but not wanting to risk getting stuck there in the dark. they trailed along happily, though, and trotted into the tall, glass-walled building called kos. as soon as they entered, adlia’s grin dropped and faded into a deep-set frown. felix was finally around. he seemed content, sitting on the concrete floor beside kedar, a fellow soldier that he worked alongside. they were talking quietly, their voices not heard over the other canines that had gathered and were then conversing in places all around kos. but, by some law of fate, he just had to be at the entrance, right where the fae’s eyes could land. when adlia looked back to kemuel at her shoulder, she gave him a look that he quickly understood, even though she had said nothing. with that, he padded away, a little worried still, and went to speak with some other dogs.

xxxxx“felix.” the shepherd called out, her voice reaching across the room and right toward him. the brute looked up, met her eyes instantly, and smiled. adlia had no such reaction. he stood from his position, quickly trotted over, and pushed himself into her pure, silken fur. she never moved one bit, as still as a rock, and waited for him to step away. finally, when he realized something was off with her, he leaned back with a frown. “everything okay?” he asked. just recently, felix and adlia had finally decided to come clean with everyone else about their relationship. they became official mates, but they weren’t expecting children so soon. taking care of pups was something completely new and foreign to both adlia and her mate, felix, but he had yet to notice her swelling stomach. the shepherd sighed. “how was the patrol?” she suddenly blurted out. felix could tell she was nervous, and he could tell that something else was wrong with her. it couldn't have just been because of his absence for the day, no, it was something else. instead of asking her about it, he decided not to be rude and not answer her question. “it was fine.” he chirped, sitting back on his haunches. “nothing exciting happened, but that’s not anything different, ay?” adlia nodded. now it was his turn to ask her a question. “what’s wrong?” he questioned.

xxxxxhe looks genuinely worried. the fae thought, trying to gather her thoughts into one sentence. what will his reaction be? she gulped down the words in her throat, once again keeping silent. her eyes searched her mate’s, her mate’s worrying eyes. she never wanted to see those beautiful eyes so worried… yet she had become the cause of that worry. “i don’t have any other way in mind on how to tell you this than to just say it.” adlia began, earning a confused stare from felix. “i’m pregnant.” his expression seemed indifferent, still worrisome, but still. he froze for a moment, searching his mate’s eyes, before he simply let out an, “oh.”

xxxxxEach day, new members rolled in by the numbers. At first it was one ( a fae named Shelomi, a pretty girl with pure, silken fur ), but it gradually grew to ten. Selah, Milea, Nukka, Kedar, Jeshuah, Gilead, Makas, Lochlain, and lastly, Sergius, all ten striding in one after the other. The new members were likely skilled, strong, and extremely helpful… however, to the rest of the dogs, all of these new faces became overwhelming to memorize. The newest dogs would have to get used to repeating their names over and over again to the others, likely until things settled down and the others finally get used to their presence. The great time of Winter was nearing, and other things seemed to be occupying everyone, thankfully taking their mind off of everything else. For now, all of the new members would settle in as quickly as they could so that they could help gather and prepare for Winter.

the dogs of płonący ogień are fearless and proud. they can get very egotistical and not take the blame for things they've done. many call them creatures rather than dogs. they live in an abandoned overgrown neighbourhood. the village they are living in once was a ghost town and due to that, there aren't many twolegs. the older twoleg pups tend to throw sticks and stones at them, the dogs quickly learned they aren't allowed to fight back or twolegs will come and try to take them away. they live in the polish village of kłomino.

they go to a special oak tree called the great oak to speak to the stars.

The Ivory Kingdom is a very tight-knit community resembling the hierarchy of ancient Europe. The dogs of Ivory, as the they call themselves, have long lived on a rugged peninsula located somewhere in Scotland, fishing in the calm tide pools next to rough sea, and hunting in its rocky reaches.

The dogs of Ivory are slow to anger, preferring to talk it over and find a compromise that both can agree on. They are scholars, always learning, always mastering the unknown.

The King and Queen are the ultimate ruler of the land, with the Queen having the higher authority. Offspring of these rulers are the prince and princes of the land, destined to one day rule their kingdom. When the eldest female comes of age and is offered a mate they become the Queen-In-Waiting. Queens-In-Waiting are the first in line for the throne and will eventually become the Queen themselves.

The eldest female is almost always promised to a dog of another kennel to strengthen political ties. When this happens the male, now King, travels to the isle to rule by the Queens side, and food, medicine, or a male heir might be given in return for this great sacrifice.

Princes and Princesses of the royal bloodline often become mates with those of other kennels and either bring them back to the Ivory Kingdom or join theirs. Mates must be approved by the Queen and the leader of the opposite kennel and must also be witnessed by two dogs of each kennel. Separation between these mates is allowed as long as it will not damage relationships between the kennels.

Heirs are forbidden from participating in an unauthorized relationship, especially if it results in pups. The result of these unions will be labeled illegitimate but will be counted as an heir if recognized by the queen.

Outside of the royal family the hierarchy is much different, each dog has a specific role in their coteries, which are specialized groups of 4-6 dogs who have trained together since pup hood and work together seamlessly. Each dog is specially trained for a certain position in the group, of which there are five. These are: Tactician, Scout (Can be 2), Medic, and Warrior (Can be 2). All pups and dogs that enter the kennel unprepared go through this rigorous training that prepares them for their coteries, even after that extensive testing is done to make sure a dog is the perfect fit for the coterie

When pups are 6 moons old they are tested for certain aptitudes, be that leading, stealth, fighting, or even healing. All pups have their special role to fill.

All Trainees are trained in the basic skills of hunting, fighting, and stealth in order to fend for themselves if need be.

Tacticians are the brains of the group, creating strategies and directing the coterie to maximize their strengths. These dogs are selected from pup hood by their strong ability to lead, along with being able to strategize in stressful situations. A Tactician needs to be trustworthy, confident, and benevolent. Only a few cases of sour Tacticians have ever appeared due to the careful consideration of the trainers.

Dogs that are small, agile, light-footed are often Scouts due to the need of stealth and rapid movement through the underbrush in order to scout the enemy or prey's movements. These Scouts will proceed the coterie in finding suitable paths and prey, reporting back with the suggested movements.

Medics are specially trained to heal on the go and to recognize herbs to bring back to the general healer. They frequently wear packs on their backs fashioned out of leaves and vines to carry the needed medicinal supplies where ever they go. Medics are chosen for their compassion in addition to a capacity to remember herbs and healing. They are often smaller than dogs of other positions because they are not needed to help fight or hunt and often hang back, watching for injuries, while the rest of the coterie attacks an enemy.

Warriors make up the main bulk of the coterie, where they mostly do the fighting and hunting. They are frequently dogs that don't fit well in other positions or are naturally gifted in fighting. This position includes pups that are more the rough and tumble type or always getting into fights, though thankfully their defiant attitude usually plays out by the time they're initiated into a coterie.

Dogs that don’t fit into any position, including warriors, are called Solos. These dogs are often loners and too ill-tempered to be compatible with any other dogs. Solos are sent out on reconnaissance missions where a full coterie would make too much noise, along with carrying out spy missions.

I just kinda wanted to start my kennel quickly, so I'll develop more traditions and kinda flesh-out more mechanics during game play.

Nike flicked her ear. The stale air of the tunnels were starting to drive her mad. She felt her pelt itch with the longing to go outside. She shook herself and rose to her paws. Spotting her cadet emerging from Lonin's den, she called him over. "Wanna go on an adventure?" she asked, a curious flicker in her eyes. Chase's mouth parted in a smile and nodded. "Where to?" he barked happily, and the two started off.
