Fall
Fall is here! During the fall, birthings will be difficult and the chances of mothers and children dying during birth will rise dramatically without the help of a skilled shaman. There is also a lessened chance of catching prey and gathering food or finding new people and skilled animals. The odds of sickness begin to rise.

The last remnants of fall are giving way to the first signs of winter. For some, it's the first snows. For others, it's a water source beginning to freeze over. The new season--and new year--will be here very soon. So celebrate and rejoice. May this coming year be better than the last.

Elsa takes the living kitten and the pair start to head home. Along the way, Ares gets into a fight with a tree and loses, ending up with a bleeding forehead and scratched arms. He will need to rest for 1 post to avoid further injuring himself. ]
[ Maachan finds an angry cat protecting her litter of kittens. He decides that it's worth it to try and steal one of her kittens (mice need to be eaten, after all) and decides afterwards, as he clutches the kitten in clawed-up arms, that maybe it wasn't the best idea he'd had. He will need to rest for 1 post to avoid further injuring himself. ]

Oreifa surveyed the destruction around her. Bodies lay on the ocean floor where they had once fought the rampaging

sea serpents. Many citizens of the kingdom remained unaccounted for as well, having fled when the fighting began.

Now, Oreifa Pyxein stood alone, having just barely chased off the final serpent on her own.

║

Normally, it was the medic's job to handle the actual physical burials, but the Abyssal Kingdom's only medic had died

║

║

protecting one of his patients. As the only survivor, it fell upon Oreifa to ensure proper passage to the afterlife to all

║

║

those lost. Though it was more time-consuming than a mass grave, she had taken the time to dig an individual grave

║

║

for each of the fallen, and one by one she had laid each of her former subjects in their final resting places, and said a

║

║

short prayer for each one (as was customary for the queen to do).

Having finished the burials, Oreifa wanted nothing more than to collapse and just grieve. But there was no time for

that, she had to rebuild her kingdom. Before she set out to search for food and survivors, she spoke a short prayer to

the gods, asking them to send her a new medic and to guide her on her travels.

Winter
Winter is here! During the winter, your villagers are likely to catch very little prey and gather very little food, and the odds of deaths during births will continue to rise.
