Seria crawled out of her den and stretched in the morning sun. The sun felt nice on her fluffy coat and she gave a little shake. Today was the start of her new pack where she hoped their numbers would grow with reliable and loyal dogs. She felt a little bit lonely on her own after all. However, she found herself lucky to have found this cavern in the mountain and it appeared there wasn't much danger, unless you counted the mountain itself. With a wag of her tail, she climbed up some large rocks and found herself in a clearing. She stood in the centre and looked up at the sky.

"Hello ancestors," Seria begun. "We have not talked in a while but from now on that will change. To start of my pack I require some assistance. I ask for a strong and reliable beta. Thank you." She let out a howl and afterwards she trotted off in search of food for herself and possibly her new companion.

The Pack of Northern Lights
Number of Dogs: one

The puffy coated female walked along the melting snow, feeling the faintest bits of sunshine warm the air. The weather was still cool, but it didn't distract her from her mission. These wild lands were untamed, uninhabited, and in need of control. She loved the forest more than anything else, but the previous winter had been harsh, and many nights she went without food. It dawned on her then that with others working alongside her, she could be successful. She could gather other strays and build a pack, one that would thrive and grow together. With this in mind, the Pack of Northern Lights was formed, with Dove standing as the Alpha. She had no one else beside her at this time, but knew there was a method of speaking to her ancestors for help. "I just need someone who can heal right now.. that way we can be ready in case anyone gets sick in the future. Then I can focus on growing this pack further."

Swinging Blades

Number of Dogs: 9 Males_ 6 Females_ 15 Total
Yips of excitement fill the camp as the patrol return. Summer hears the commotion and runs up to Titus. "What happened? Did you find the other kennel? What kind of dogs do they have? The Swinging Blades can handle anything."
Titus replied "Well we didn't find the other kennel. We actually didn't see any other dogs." Summer stopped wagging her tail. "But we did catch the scent of a deer."
"That's great! I knew that the woods were the place to find the deer. They are coming out from hibernation now."
"Yeah, we spotted the scent in the field near the forest. I suggest that we send our six strongest fighters. We would rather be safe than sorry."
Summer nodded. "Yes, I don't need any more dogs injured. I think that we should send Blitz, Gracie, Verona, you, me, and Tobias."
"Tobias? Why send him? Dimitri is a more well-balanced fighter. He was trained by Kota."
When Summer heard that name, her blood boiled. She defeated the old dog and everyone still treated him with so much respect. He was an omega! But she did have to admit that Dimitri was the better battler. "Dimitri needs to spend some time training Clover. She is getting older and her brothers are way more experienced than her."
Titus nodded and rounded up the dogs.
Tobias walked up to Summer. He sat next to her trying not to annoy his alpha. "Summer, I'm honored that you would choose me to hunt the deer. I promise I'll do my best. I'm going to take that deer down for the kennel."
Summer looked at the bright eyed brown dog. She would never admit it but he had some charm to him. And even when fighting that mountain lion she saw him protect her before she blacked out. Maybe Tobias wasn't that bad of a dog? Summer replied "I know you will. That's why I chose you." Summer walked away and Tobias' heart fluttered.

"I can't believe we got a pesky rabbit! A mere, single rabbit! Is that the best we could do?" Bullet snarled, pacing back and forth. "If you keep shouting like that, of course we'll barely get anything!" Falcon growled, shaking his head. "Maybe if you stopped acting like such a pup we'd get more prey!" Bullet retorted, stomping his paw on the ground which make a thud noise. "Maybe if you were a better Alpha we'd get more prey!" Falcon countered. Bullet stood silent and twisted his head around to stare him straight in the eye. The two lock eyes for a moment, exchanging looks at burned with fury. "Well, I'm not sure if any of you notice but I smelt deer when we were coming back to camp." Cadeyrn barked, breaking the uncomfortable silence. Both dog's heads whipped around to look at Cadeyrn. "Why didn't you say so?" Bullet demanded, his tail twitching with annoyance. "I did tell you, but you and Falcon kept arguing with each other I don't think you heard." Cadeyrn grunted, a twinge of satisfaction glistening through him at the sight of Falcon and Bullet trying to cover their embarrassment. "Then what are you waiting for? Cadeyrn, grab Boom. Falcon, grab Ricochet and Gabriel. We need to catch this deer, even if it leaves the camp vulnerable." Bullet commanded. The two nodded and rushed off. This could be risky. We could get seriously injured, but it's worth it if we catch that deer.

Lily sighed, anxiety rippling across her mind. What was Bullet thinking? Taking all the dogs to go hunt a deer, leaving her and her pups vulnerable like this? The apprentices, too. Bullet had claimed that Amour used to be an Irontooth before it was discovered he was suppose to be a Shaman, but it made no difference. Amour was a healer, not a fighter anymore. Lily instinctively shuffled closer to her pups, which were peacefully having a nap. Whatever happened, Lily was not going to allow anyone - or anything - hurt her pups.

Pepper looked around the quiet camp almost ruefully. These last months had been really quiet, which was a good thing, but except for Roses pregnancy nothing had happened. The pack was starting to get restless. And if they didnt get new dogs to hunt and patrol soon there would now be enough prey to go around.
Suddenly, Koda charged into the camp panting heavily. "We....found...some dogs," Koda stopped to sake a gulp of air, "that want to join the pack." Now this piqued Pepper's interest. New dogs? It was almost as if the stars had heard her calls and sent a few dogs to help them out.
"How many?"
"Five old enough to be Ironteeth, one tenderpaw, and three pups." Pepper looked startled; she was not expecting that much. And why would they need pups? Maybe this wasn't the star's doing after all.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Bring them here, I want to see them for myself."
"Yes Alpha," Koda responded and bounded off. Pepper had wished for a change, just not this drastic. And what were they supposed to do with the pups? Rose would have her own pups to take of soon. Five Ironteeth is good news though, along with the tenderpaw. Hopefully they would have enough prey to feed them all.

Koda appeared in camp soon after, leading nine dogs through the tree arch that was the entrance. Most of the new dogs had longer coats except for a stocky white and black male, another stocky red pup following forlornly behind him, and a tall, black spotted female. The other two pups were being herded by a large, golden-haired male. The male was having a hard time keeping the pups in place. Just like normal pups they wanted to stick their nose into everything. The brindle female followed with her head held high, she looked like she would be trouble. The last dog in the line, a long-haired red and white male, looked very curiously at his new surroundings. Pepper looked at him curiously. He would make a fine irontooth. Curiosity and bravery are what makes a dog special. He looked as if had plenty of both those traits. The whole group had a look about them that spoke "we used to be well cared for, but have fallen on harder times". But instead of the soft eyes you would expect to find in a pampered tall-paw pet, their eyes were filled with a cold determination that spoke volumes of what they had went through.
After all the dogs had filed in, Pepper took a deep breath and asked, "What brings you to our side of the mountain?"
The dogs exchanged questioning glances. Finally the spotted dog stepped forward. Pepper thought she looked like the leader of the group. "We come from far away to find a place we can rest in peace. Our home was destroyed and packmates lost, either to death or separation. We come from many different packs, but together we are one, and as one we will stand by your side as loyal pack mates if you so wish." The assertive dog stepped back, allowing Pepper to answer. "We welcome you to our pack as our brothers and sisters and hope you will find peace as we have." The group murmured their thanks as Koda and Almond left to show them around.

Over the next few weeks the "Newcomers" as they were called gradually excepted the help of their new pack. Many were seen staring off into the distance, trying to find something they couldn't quite see, but soon accepted that their old life was gone and they should make do with what they still had. Little by little Pepper and the pack pieced together what had happened to bring them together and travel so far. While talking to Duvessa, Almond discovered that she and her brother were found by Caelan, a member of their old pack, huddled under the remains of their old nursery. Koda discerned that Frost had protected Rory from a sand scorpion after she had ran off from her brothers and sisters. Frost himself had been abandoned when he sprained an ankle. Leslie then united the two groups after being taken by long-paws then released back into the wilds nowhere near her home. Leslie's group then stumbled upon Seraph and being chased off by another hostile pack. After Seraph they found Lily attacking two long-paws for taking her alpha away from her. Nemmell was the last to be found. He had been separated from his pack after a flood had swept away his pack. The only thing they would not disclose though, was why their packs dispersed in the first place. For all Pepper inquired she could not find this fact.

"and, with that, i request a beta for my pack.. to start my uprise." the deep, husky voice bellowed, with the owner of the rumbling baratone muzzle tipped downwards to the pool of shimmering water that was beneath his paws.

He lifted his well-muscled neck from the water, shutting his eyelids slowly once before letting them flick open, revealing the fierce set of fiery amber optics. They scanned around him once, seeing only the shimmering pool and forest around the doberman.

A annoyed huff escaped Diablo, his broad chest dramatically deflating as he did so. "Thanks." He growled sarcastically under his breath, then turning tail to return back to his camp, making sure to pick up the russet-coloured rooster that he had earlier caught.

As he began to drag one large paw after another, the rustling of nearby bushes caught the brute's attention.

Diablo's posture went rigid, dropping the rooster square at his paws to place his muzzle into a meancing snarl. With his lips pulled back, revealing blood-stained Ivory incisors. His tongue darted past his bared fangs, another sign of clear aggression. "I demand you show yourself, now before I lose this thin amount of mercy that I'm giving you!" He snarled, voice tearing through the air like thunder.

The air was still for a moment, and then, through the thick ferns, a massive black dogs tumbled sprang out. His jowls trembled at the sudden action, though his expression and stature was not an aggressive one. Infact, it seemed to hint at submission. His spine arced, making his head lower and his ears flattened against his sooty head.

"Alpha.. I apologize." The huge dog spoke, "I have been sent to be your second in this kennel, by the Stars."

Diablo let out a rude snort, "You? My advisor?" He muttered something underneath his breath. "The gods are not impressing me right now. Whatever, come.. What's your name?" He didn't say it in a very asking way, rather an ordering way.

"Odyssey, alpha sir." He replied obediently.

"I am no alpha, I am better than that tomfoolery. I am your sovereign." And with that, the meancing doberman shoved his way past the brute and made his way to the camp, Odyssey quickly loping after him.

are just coming out to see the world for the first time, and
deer have closer to the kennel's territories now. It's beginning
to get a bit hotter now, so start your hunting and enjoy the sun!

"who are you?" a rough voice jolted him from his light slumber, and he jumped up, teeth bared. the red retriever stepped back, narrowing her eyes. "jeez, i was just asking." she muttered, glaring at rusty. rusty relaxed, sitting down. "my name is rusty, and i am the alpha of the kennel of obsidian stars." the retreiver sniffed the air and looked around. "where's your kennel, then?" when rusty didn't respond, the retriever roared with laughter. "you don't have one!" she cried, rolling around on the ground. "well, if you join me, we might be able to create one." her eyes flew open and she stiffened, fluidly getting to her feet. "what?" she asked, scanning rusty's face. "i said, we'll create a kennel." her eyes narrowed. "and why should i do that?" she barked, hackles rising. "because i think you'd be a great beta." she flattened her ears. "what?" rusty's ears flicked with annoyance. "do i have to repeat everything i say?" he growled, standing up. the retriever unconsciously stepped back, then came closer. "fine. but on one condition. we take in anyone, no matter who they are." it was an odd request, but it seemed benevolent enough, so rusty dipped his head in agreement. the retriever locked eyes with rusty and grinned. "i'm katja." rusty grinned back. "rusty. now, shall we see if there's anyone to take in?" he said, voice filling with mirth. katja laughed and took off, rusty running after her.
