Pack of Burning Water

How the wolves got here, they didn't know. They hadn't met long before, and both didn't recognise this new area at all. Qaluun had come from a large pack in what seemed a fairly similar environment, but that didn't seem to be much help. They'd felt pricks like barbs in their sides, and suddenly they'd woken up somewhere entirely different. Perhaps Taqundi, the wolf spirit's, powers had extended and she had brought them to safety away from men?
Sonsee-Array and Qaluun padded across the gentle incline, out of the wind, and into a shallow cave. Sonsee stared up in wonder at the strange, angular protusions from the rock. Qaluun stepped just behind her shoulder (good, showing the proper respect).
"A spirit must have done this." Sonsee said. The work! How much effort must it have cost the spirit? She had never so clearly seen evidence of them before, and she had been raised properly by her parents! It must surely be a sign, to show how valuable this place was, and how important it should be for them. A spirit had carved this out with its claws and fangs, and now they had found- almost by accident- a perfectly sized cave. It was beautiful. A few walls shimmered in the dim light reflected from outside. "It's a place blessed for us, it must be. What better place to make our main den?"
Qaluun nodded in agreement. "It's right to raise our pack where they can see the benevolence of the spirits for themselves."
It really was a beautiful cave. Looking carefully, there were glimmers of colour in many of the rocks, many just dull greys or black, but some showed up yellow or green or blue. The cave seemed to go back forever, but what spirits could conspire to build this wonder but forget to keep it free of danger for them? No, it had to be safe.
The only downside to the territory they had seen so far were the strange water-trees (Qaluun called them geysers and Sonsee quite liked the sound of it) that sometimes sprang up from some of the water pools, and the pools of foul-smelling water that burned their noses when they came too close. They'd named their pack after those- no one would mess with a pack whose guardian spirits could make water burn!
The only things missing were a pile of prey for them and a few tiny bundles of furry joy. They could at least quickly correct the first of those things.

Pack Description

Sorry for doing this, I really doubt that it's an actual issue, but I just got a warning about art theft for using a clearly sourced image, with the search I did for it being from a recommended page about avoiding art theft, and given the standing of that, I feel like removing any images from my posts is the best course for me not being banned. It might be best to save on a Word document the images of the wolves I get assigned if my descriptions of the wolves don't suit for purposes.

jay and hermione wandered throughout the forest. the pair soon came upon a redwood tree with a large hole dug into the trunk. "this is it." hermione said. hermione sat down in the den. "we'll need to find food and have a litter soon." she said, standing back up and walking past jay, out of the den. "let's go hunting. it'll help us explore the territory."

Sioux laughed softly and murmured, "Of course I can go hunting. I'm not that far along yet." Pride flashed in Absarokee's gaze as he looked at his beautiful mate. "We're going to be parents." He murmured. "Only the best prey for you." Absarokee declared, leading the way out of the den.

Yiho could feel the slight movement of her pups that were growing in her. The actual thought of other life inside of her scared the life out of the female, yet also got her interested. She knew she would have to keep having pups, she was Alpha female! She's the highest in the pack, not even Zirro can actually tell her what to do! Thinking of Zirro, she also knew that other wolves that potentially join the pack might attempt to over-power him... The male was strong enough to keep that for now, but she couldn't even bare the thought of that happening when he was older, frailer... Not many Alpha's actually love each other, she wasn't even sure if Zirro loved her back, but Yiho loved her mate with all her heart. She would never give that up, not for anything. Lost in her own thoughts, Yiho almost missed Zirro leaving for hunting.

Whisper Pack

Redwood and Leif looked at the fur sleeping pups, joy in their eyes. As the only female of the four squeaked, Redwood let out a bark of laughter, nudging her. 'Lavender, that's what this little girl should be named.' Leif said, thoughts drifting back to the purple flowers he'd noticed while hunting. Redwood nodded her agreement. 'Aki and Yuli.' She pointed to two more. For the last one, they decided on Lyall.

Redwood's stomach growled, startling the cubs slightly. 'Ah, darn. Do we not have any food left?' Her eyes were wide, fearful. 'Don't worry, Redwood!' Leif announced, looking proud. 'I'll go hunting for you. Stay here and protect them.' Redwood nodded, watching her mate pad off to go and find food. She shivered softly, curling around the cubs a little tighter.

"Juniper, wait." Kestrel calls, scrambling to his paws as Juniper stalks out of the den, her heavily pregnant stomach causing her to waddle slightly. "You can't go by yourself. Just wait until tomorrow, I'll be better then." The black and light brown male coughed as he scrambled after Juniper.

"You have more than just yourself look after, Juniper. What if the pups get hurt?" Kestrel barks, blocking his mate.

Juniper halted in her tracks, an annoyed look on her face. "We need food Kestrel. We won't be able to support anybody if we only have one snowshoe hare."

Kestrel looked towards the prey pile, a pang of disappointment weighing in his stomach at the sight of only one piece of prey. "Fine, I'll go."

The Pack of Swaying Willows is against any sort of conflict. All they desire is peace. They are often viewed as a weak pack because of this, but they are as strong as any other. However, these wolves are willing to almost go out of their way to avoid a fight and are easily subject to manipulation. They are very trusting, only wanting to see the good in others, which will most likely be their downfall one day. As their name suggests, willows are aplenty in this pack's territory - and sacred to them. The camp though is inside a cave for protection. A river runs along the eastern border, and the northern and western borders are guarded by mountains.

Silver Moon Pack

Silver Moon Pack resides within a lush forest which sits not too far from a mountain range. The forest is vast and even the wolves who have travelled the farthest can not say they have seen it's entirety. There are many rivers and streams scattered throughout the forest, all of which lead to a large lake which is the pack's main source of fresh water. The camp is nestled within the thickest section of the forest a short distance from the lake. Their winter dens are small natural caves surrounding a small clearing. The territory is at it's most beautiful moment as the moon rises from behind the mountains and reflects in the lake giving the forest a soft silver glow. That is what the wolves are named after as well as their generally silver or grey coats.

Silver Moon Pack are fighters. Each and every wolf is loyal to the pack and highly trained in combat. Training begins at a young age and pups are expected to grow into strong warriors. While from the point of view of other packs they may appear heartless, the wolves of the pack are actually usually caring and friendly. Despite being known as fighters and their natural tendancy to fight, Silver Moon Pack does not fight without reason and generally avoids conflict, but if you mess with them be ready for a fight.

fawna sighed as mortality came back into camp, two hares swinging from his mouth. "this is all you could catch?" she asked, her impatience rising. his ears went back a bit and he put them near the other prey, his eyes narrowing. "yes. but i'll go back out." fawna nodded in approval and said, "i'll join you." morality growled, his fur rising a bit. "you just got hurt. and now we have pups to worry about." fawna rose to her paws and snarled in his face. "that is exactly why we need to hunt." mortality shrank back a bit, his tail going in between his legs. fawna felt a rush of remorse and sighed.
"i understand your point. i do. but we have no prey and soon our pups will be born. how about this, i'll explore our territory which is less dangerous, but will still give me space to breathe. would that calm you?" she nuzzled under his chin in a quiet apology. mortality stayed silent for a moment, then nuzzled her back. in a weary voice he replied, "i just worry." fawna wagged her tail once and said softly, "i know. honestly, it'll be okay." mortality nodded, and with a nudge, they left camp together and walked, chatting for a bit before splitting up.

Sioux's belly was beginning to swell with the pups growing inside her belly but still the dusty colored female insisted on going hunting with Absarokee. "You should rest," Absarokee's constant nagging was beginning to get on Sioux's nerves. Sioux shot him an irritated look. "Absarokee, I'm perfectly fine. I can go hunting." Absarokee glanced worriedly at her but relunctantly nodded. "Fine."
