It depends..on one hand itβs an amazing tool for relaxing. On the other hand it can consume me and I feel like I just wasted the whole day.
^ have a goodnight (:
> I ignored my phone all day because someone that hurt me deserved to be ignored. But I canβt help but feel so bad because they were afraid I died or blocked them or ignored them. Empathy is really annoying sometimes

hmmm yea i wanna say perfectionism? cuz sometimes it's exhausting/wastes time but other times it leads to a better result aaa that's a good question
^ aw i'm sorry you had to deal with that :( i kinda understand, lol being too empathetic always leads me into negative feelings/situations/early forgiveness :c i hope u feel better soon!

- okay so at the moment im playing obsidian's latest game, pentiment, and it's pretty good. i have some issues with it, but overall, i'm enjoying the experience. ANYWAY, so in act three (minor spoilers btw for anyone who wants to play it. also a quick trigger warning for mentions of like,, christianity used to justify misogyny OH YEAH trigger warning for misogyny skdjfkhdsk) you play as a woman by the name of magdalene, right? and she is a Girlboss i love her,, i made it so she has the trait barbs, so she just insults everyone all the time it's great OH i'm also hcing her that she's a lesbian bc i cannot play as a straight character to save my life (/mostly joking) and so when the topic of marriage comes up (OH BY THE WAY,, this game is set in like, the fifteen hundreds, i think?) i'm having her say stuff like 'oh i don't think i'll ever get married' and 'i'm not much interested in men' that sort of thing ykyk AND all the townsfolk are like 'but...god's will!!!!' and 'who'll take care of you when you get older' and 'it's your duty as a woman' (okay that last one is an exaggeration but you get the idea) and idk it's just really reminded me of all the stuff that was said to me when i was young and said i don't want to have kids and get married. idk ig that's not a very fun answer but ig it's cool to see it depicted in a video game skfhskf
^ OMG ice skating is so much fun haha!!! i fell a few times the one and only time i went,, also like i went with a pair of my friends and they were dating so i was third wheeling most of the time,, i had way more fun when i just went off on my own and was skating by myself,, im p clumsy so im surprised i didnt injure myself (/srs) ANYWAY i hope you have a wonderful time if you go~ ^^
> i'm drinking hot chocolate to recognize the coming of winter,, sure the solstice is a few days away, but still,, it is time for the Wintery mood to begin~ // hcing that my oc elektris is like,, lowkey a guitar nerd and has a Super Duper Fancy Guitar,, but when they get asked about it, they just say something like 'oh i just picked this one bc it was pretty' bc they hate talking to people KJSDHKJFHK wait this si my character i can just make this canon LMAO // heading back to finish pentiment,, goodbye for now, cs!!!
v tell me about something you like.

I quite enjoy Aristophanes' plays, more specifically I think his representation of women is quite interesting. For some context he was writing in late 400s BC Athens, where women's 'rights', were, of course, extremely limited. What's interesting about Aristophanes is while his plays do lean more towards the general view of women for the time period (belonging in the household, unable to participate in politics, etc), there are some contradictory points to this. For example, in one of his plays, the concept of a group of women overtaking the ruling of Athens is written for comedic effect - the idea of women running in politics is seen as a joke. But then the main character and leader of this event, Praxagora, actually... seems to make Athens better, in a way? The play ends quite ambiguously, and while it shows the problems of her new way of running Athens (a sort of 'communist utopia', where everything is shared amongst the citizens) it also shows characters willingly participating in the new form of government. Praxagora is also way smarter than the men in the play - one scene shows a debate with her husband and his friend about her idea for the government, and it ends with Praxagora persuading them that her method is far better than the current one in Athens. It's obviously impossible to really know what Aristophanes' intentions were, but I do enjoy trying to figure them out.
I also like Aristophanes because he makes Dionysus seem like an incompetent blundering idiot and it's very funny (please go read Frogs, it's so good. The Chorus is made up of frogs.)
^ I actually just put Pentiment on my Steam wishlist today! I do wish to avoid spoilers but I'm probably going to pick it up around Christmas time. / I love giving my OCs weird little quirks like that. That sounds adorable, and it truly is amazing that you can make anything canon with your OCs.
> The trains are striking exactly on the days I booked my tickets for. What did I do to you, railway service?? I also need to pack as I'm spending Christmas at my mother's place, and I am absolutely going to forget something crucial. Last time I nearly forgot my drawing tablet :')
