spiderrun - in camp
"um..." spiderrun looked around, panicking slightly. he didn't expect so many cats at the party! he didn't even know there were so
many cats in the clan. and where was coco? he noticed her in the center of all the chaos, chatting with others. maybe he should go
back to the warrior's den. he turned, but immediately bumped into someone. "miragewater!" spiderrun was relieved to see someone
familiar. miragewater had been the first one to greet him when he joined the clan. "hi spiderrun," miragewater mewed, tilting his
head curiously. "you enjoying the party?"
"not really," spiderrun told him truthfully. "i was actually going to leave... there isn't much to do, too many cats..." the other tom
nodded. he was so understanding. spiderrun knew he didn't have any problem being in a crowd and got along with seemingly
everyone, but he was somehow more chill than the other loud ones. "sorry for keeping you." he got up to leave, but spiderrun
hurriedly added, "if you want we could talk though."
miragewater smiled at him. "alright! what do you want to talk about?" spiderrun smiled back. "maybe spiders?"
marspaw - duckling dens
marspaw was trying to take his nap when he noticed a shadow looming over him. he looked up to see three unfamiliar faces, all
smiling and staring at him. "hello?..." "hi!" one of them mewed, "i'm gorsepaw. she's sycamorepaw and grumpyhead over there is
carppaw." carppaw looked away. he didn't seem thrilled to be here either. "marspaw," marspaw replied uncertainly. they didn't
seem like much of a threat, but that didn't stop him from wishing they would go away. "...did you want something?" "we
haven't seen you before! wanted to say hello," gorsepaw said brightly.
"oh." he turned to face the wall, uninterested. "i'm not new, i just spent the last moon in the herb magic den." after he injured
himself while hunting, winterwood wanted to keep an eye on him, so he insisted that marspaw stay in the herb magic den even
though there was no need to. he snorted. the green magicians were just lonely because there weren't many cats visiting them
apart from littleink, who was honestly kind of sad. he had been angry that he needed to delay his training, but he was too tired
to care now.
"there's no need to be rude," the molly mewed quietly. she seemed slightly confused, the end of her sentence sounding more like
a question than a statement. "we just wanted to say hello." marspaw thought about it for a moment. "hi." "hello!" gorsepaw replied
happily. "are we friends now?"
friends? but they just met! still, he couldn't help but feel like he didn't really have any friends. he noticed when he returned that
the duckling dens were unusually quiet, probably because flaxduck moved out, and puddlepaw kept to himself, so it was just
earthpaw talking to herself every once in a while. he froze, trying to figure out what to do, when the quiet one muttered, "guys,
let's go... he doesn't want to be bothered." gorsepaw gasped, like he just realized. "sorry about that! we'll go away now." just as
they left to find their own nest across the den, marspaw hurriedly called, "i'll see you three tomorrow at training."
"okay!" gorsepaw returned, grinning back.
duckstar - the yellow guide's den entrance
duckstar felt powerful, standing atop the entrance to the leaders' den and looking out to the clan. she slid down the ramp they had
made out of a mound of dirt. much more safe than before, when they had to hop down and almost slip on small sharp rocks. there
were still boulders for an entrance to the camp though, and she had to be careful about her footing to not slip or cause any ruckus
to wake anyone else up. she disappeared into the grass fields, following the stars.
it was a windy night, the breeze ruffling her pelt and the grass, and eventually the howl of the wind became the only thing she
could hear and she had to shut her eyes. she kept running, faster and faster, having memorized the path by heart, then slowed to a
stop as she saw the silhouette of the tree. the hill had a single speck of light glowing under the moonlight, and as she drew closer
she stopped hearing the wind and instead the faint whispers of the flowers. "i'm here," she called out to them. "you can come out!"
the wispy outline of a kit shyly peeked out from behind the tree. "hi mama!" sunshinekit squeaked, burying his face into her fur.
"sunshinekit!" duckstar purred. "i have a lot to talk to you about."
