Raising her muzzle in the air, Esther came to a halt, sniffing the air suspiciously,
"What's wrong?" Connor barked from the back of the group, she waited hesitantly for a moment before turning back to face the other dogs, "Do you smell what I smell?"
Cautious, Sova too raised her muzzle, "An unfamiliar scent?". Esther nodded.

"Alpha would always command us to check it out." Tania said.
"I..don't think it's the safest time right now," Elan yipped, "Maia's just given birth and..only Koda, Artermis and Nemell are at camp."
"He's got a point," Sova chimed in, "Maybe..we should split up?"

"No," Esther interrupted, feeling slightly annoyed, "It'll be quick, I suggest we go and see what it is, what if it's a pack of wolves?"
"But-" Sova began, but was only interrupted by the impatient beta again.
"We'll go."

Connor snarked silently, glaring at Esther as she turned around, following the trail of the scent as she went, signalling with her tail for the group to follow.
"If anything goes wrong I'm going to kill her."

"How is he?" Artermis cooed softly as she entered the cave where Maia laid, her beautiful pups laying by her side as they nursed.
"Alot more better," Maia gave a feeble smile as she looked down at them, then shifted her gaze to Artermis again, "Thank you so much..for all your help...even to a stranger like me.."

Artermis smiled, it felt good to be of use for once, since all she did was collect herbs all day and watch them pile up into a heap in a corner of her cave den.
Taking a piece of Borage leave, she gave it to Maia,
"I'm not sure how this works...but it might help Ciel slightly more."

Maia smiled, taking the leave in her mouth and chewing it up, swallowing it before muttering a silent "Thank you."

[The kennel consumed 1 small bird.]

the kennel of the obsidian stars is a hardy, resilient pack. they're pretty nomadic, with no set territory, and drift from place to place. they're restless, never liking to stay in one place for too long unless a fae is with pups. they're generally neutral with the other kennels, neither liking nor disliking them. the coat colors vary widely throughout the obsidian stars, from cream to red to black. they take in anyone they find on their travels, and if you don't like the ways of the pack, you're free to go. kennel life revolves around the pup-mothers. they are fiercely protected, and anyone who disobeys their wishes is exiled.

Conrad,Leonard and Emma were bubbling with excitement.They wrestled and giggled as they made their way to the stone,where Duci was sitting.She looked in despair,like her life was useless,without meaning.Suddenly,the laughter stopped as the pups halted,her mood could be felt in the air.''What's wrong,Beta?'' Duci looked up ''I'll be leading your parade as Loki...H-he fell.'' the pups just stared in disbelief.

As the ceremony went on,Luzifer stared out the healer's den as he saw Adalia walk up and nuzzle every one of them.She looked so proud as the ceremony went on,at one moment,she caught a glance of Luzifer and her look changed,in a bad way.

[Basil went herb hunting after she treated Luzifer with cobwebs. ]

The WillowWay Kennel camp is located below eight giant sequoia trees. Their dens are located in the hollowed out trees. The forest surrounding the trees is large and thick. One day south is a road that marks the edge of WillowWay territory. Across the road is an expensive resort and a beach. Most of the WillowWay dogs found a way to escape their overbearing owners here and ran into the woods, encountering the other dogs and immediately befriending them.

The alpha's tree is the northernmost tree.
The beta's tree is located directly to the right of the alpha's.
The ironteeth tree is located to the right of the beta's tree.
The tenderpaw tree is connected to the right of the ironteeth tree.
The shaman's tree is located to the left of the alpha's.
The nursery is located to the left of the shaman's.
The omega tree is located to the left of the nursery.
The freshkill pile is located in the tree to the left of the omega tree.
The elder's tree is the southernmost tree.

Prey: vole ;; rabbit ;; hare ;; squirrel ;; bird ;; deer
Threats: twolegs ;; wolves ;; wild boars ;; snakes ;; unruly strays ;; other kennels (sometimes)

The forest [ X ]

The dogs of WillowWay are very welcoming to dogs who have run away from their owners or are stray. Unless a dog poses an immediate threat and if they can contribute to the kennel, they will be welcomed in as soon as possible. Once they join, they will be able to choose their new name in the presence of the ancestors. The night after they choose their name, they have to sleep in the middle of the sequoia grove with the stars shining above them.
The kennel is constructed of mostly sighthounds such as Borzois, Salukis, Afghans, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Scottish Deerhounds, Silken Windhounds, and Whippets as well as a few Australian Shepherds and Border Collies. They will let in any breed of dog, though.

The dogs generally keep to themselves and try to avoid other kennels as much as possible. The southern border is one day away with the road and resort acting as a definite danger zone. The kennel has three halfway camps in patches of bramble so the patrol can break halfway no matter which way they go towards the road. The other borders only take about a half a day to travel to, so the patrols have to be careful in the winter to head out soon enough to return by dark.

Adelaide is the alpha of WillowWay and used to be called Addi. She was owned by a middle-aged couple who pretty much just owned her to show they could afford a purebred borzoi. They took her to the Resort on a trip with their business friends. She stared longingly at the nearby forest the entire time they were there. On the last day, her owners left her unattended while they were at the pool and she was able to slip out of the gate and across the road without them even noticing. She looked back once when she reached the edge of the forest before slinking through the trees and officially kissing her past life behind. No one came looking for her.
She traveled a day before she found the sequoia grove. She fell asleep there and the ancestors called to her to start a kennel.

The Serpent's Legacy

Our movement and agility will make you wish you were battling a normal snake!

The dogs apart of Serpent's Legacy kennel often bite first and bark later, but do have some common sense on when they fight and when they talk. Mostly consisting of hotheaded canines, they aren't really know for being as merciful and kind (except to an Ally pack or to fellow canines). Their ruthless personality is quite unruly and obnoxious.. Which tends to drive the chance of Allied packs away.

Their Territory is apart of a foggy set of winding woods that will usually always get snow. This gives the perfect element of confusion when enemies try to attack as its usually very confusing crossing around the woods. It is however, a bit more difficult to locate prey (or enemy dogs/loners/potential pack members themselves), but then again.. Since when did the prey ever even suspect looming threats from the mist?

Going more in depth with the dogs themselves, they usually tend to be in all shapes and sizes (Mostly larger, slim, and agile dogs, but there is a good spectrum of smaller breeds such as Chihuahua's). The alpha is usually A large or medium sized male who can think, speak, and truly feel like the essence of a sensible serpent. The dogs will always have bites that are more of many, quick, and painful strikes and snake-like movements that entrance any foe. But a weakness is always needed, and it will always be found. Between strikes, enemies could doge out of the way just in time to lunge back. It always seems like worthy opponents are more of mongooses then canids. An adaptation and preferred trait for the pack would be of darker pelts and longer fur just so they could blend in with the dark and keep themselves warm in case of snow. However, there have been times where some pack members have lighter and shorter coats, but its very rare to ever see that due to them sticking out like sore thumbs.

The camp is made from the trees that are apart of their humble and chilling territory. It is quite useful for storing all types of herbs, which is preferred for the shaman that lives in the pack.

Side Note: The Alpha as of currently is a large, blue eyed, shaggy furred, and sleek male that gazes longingly up at the stars. (Ended up thinking he'd be an interesting Malamute)

The kennel of Dreams

Lucy woke up. She finally found a place to build a clan. Now just need to get some dogs to join. Lucy decided to speak to the ancestors and go on patrol the way back.. It was a long journey, but she made it. "My faithful ancestors, I am starting a clan, and I need a Shaman." she spoke and walked back home, patrolling and hunting on the way home.

Blue Moon Kennels

As the days of autumn continue inexorably onward, the dogs of Blue Moon Kennels are beginning to get hungry. The pack has nearly doubled with the addition of the energetic cattle-dog siblings, meaning there are more mouths to feed than ever. The pack is looking toward the coming winter with anxiety, concerned about their ability to find enough prey. Hunting patrol efforts are doubled, with barely a dog spared from this essential effort.

On this particular day Osiris does not participate. The reason for this is simple - they need a beta. The big merle dog does not like the way that Cowboy and Dolly nip and bicker - not just among themselves, but bringing others into the fray. A second authoritative voice will help to quell the growing dissent. He orders Trance and Ross to guide the wild newcomers on a hunt and then goes off in his own direction, hoping the ancestors will come through for them once again.

the crescent moon kennel/pack is known to keep to themselves and are usual very calm and friendly dogs. the pack is named after its original leaders, mates crescent and moon. the pack had gone down a dark path at one point, lead by the grandchild of crescent and moon, boulder. but after boulders take down, the pack has risen up and are better than ever.

they live in the middle of a dense forest. to the east of their camp lays a good sized lake, perfect for fishing. to the west lays a large grassy field, home to a family of rabbits and occasionally a herd of deer.

their camp is located in the ruins on a small, old human village.
