• cassie is allowed to do what she loves, and is released to run all over the fields and through the shallow water! the staff look on in amusement, noting her enjoyment and being sure to throw a tennis ball far off, so she can chase after it.
• shira is cuddled with even more, after proving herself as #1 best feline cuddler! what a sweetheart.
• staff take note on his spooks in the forest, and are working hard with angus and his ground manners. he is being properly desensitized, rubbed with tarps and bags (much to his horror), and ridden more to get him used to the forest, where everything moves and bushes rustle, alive with wildlife.
• the injured pitbull, we decided on naming karo, is taken to the vets to treat his injuries. poor handsome boy. we'll be sure to give him a better life than he did before, and earn back his trust of humans.
• bayleaf staff play with the two inseparable puppies! they become introduced to toys, and are having a blast chasing one another and playing little games of tug rope. they are kept seperate from the adult dogs, just in case, and will be introduced later.
• we immediately take in all animals found. the pregnant tonkinese, we named lotus, is being settled into a quiet, comfortable, and peaceful cat area. totally secluded from the other cat area, but she does have a window to see the other felines. shira is rather curious, and after the birth of lotus' kittens, will be introduced when it is safe and lotus is comfortable and stressed no longer.
• staff members go looking for more animals in need!

Evergreen Shelter

✦ all of the shelter inhabitants look overjoyed and content, great job! you also, have one more post until food must be purchased, or your animals could starve.
✦ your shelter gets an urgent call from the local pound, asking if you could take in some animals rescued from a horrific hoarding case. evergreen shelter staff agree to take in a few. the shelter welcomes a gordon setter in poor condition, and a maltipoo puppy in need of TLC! the gordon setter needs to see the vet, so your rescue may decide to spend three coins and take them, or can refuse to.
✦ upon exploration, you find a hungry somali cat, who, although timid, trusts staff enough to allow it to be saved and transported to the shelter.
✦ you have received five coins.
✦ your current coin count is fifteen coins.

Northriver Animal Sanctuary

✦ the animals residing at your shelter thank you with plenty of love, licks, and cuddles as their food is replenished!
✦ authorities call northriver shelter after an urgent case of neglect, and ask if staff are willing to take in and care for a mare and foal. the nokota mare is pregnant, and due in the next three posts. it looks like she has a foal, but is expecting another foal, how rare!
✦ mallory feels much better after her trip to the vet, and shows her appreciation by nosing staff with a soft nose.

paragraphReptile Resort is is a shelter that focuses on reptiles! We have snakes, turtles, and all kinds of lizards, so if you're looking for something with scales we're a good place to check! We're located on an old farm you've probably passed when leaving town that you've always wondered about. There's no big fancy signs showing you how to get here, and most of our reputation is gained through word of mouth!
paragraphA lot of the reptiles here are resuces, and our manager is a kind androgenous reptile enthusiast in their mid fourties who's spent many years in a reptile rehabilitation center. The rehab center was shut down a few years ago, and since then they've been setting up the farmland's barns as shelters so they could start up a shelter of their own. They're very good with all the animals, and they make sure that all the staff is properly trained in dealing with the specific reptiles they'll be cleaning the tanks of, and make sure to socialize the animals as best they can.
paragraphThere is a main barn where the owner lives, and it has various guest rooms for when the staff end up working late, or just need a place to stay. There's various little barns, and each one is clearly marked for snakes, turtles, and two different barns for differnt lizards; one for the smaller species, and one for the larger ones.
paragraphThe owner may refuse to let customers take home an animal, but that's usually only when they can't say for certain that the animal will be behaved around humans; they'd really rather not have a lawsuit on their hands. The only other usualy reason they'd refuse you is if you have a bad reputation with letting your animals get sick or injured very often.

- the staff at bear creek animal sanctuary purchase some farm animal food (-2 coins) and feed the animals.
- dandelion is introduced to lark, who both seem to get along well together! their pasture is mucked and the staff spend some time grooming the goats.
- the young buck, almond, is given a stall inside of the barn where they can be taken care of by the staff. they spend plenty of time bottle-feeding him and playing. he wont be placed with the other goats until he is a bit older and weaned off of milk.
- whiskey's pasture is mucked and she receives plenty of pats and scratches from the staff.
- winter and rocky are introduced to each other, and after a few days, they seem at peace. they roam together in their pen and will sleep cuddled-up beside one another throughout the night.
- the staff at bear creek animal sanctuary set-out to find more animals in need of rescuing.

The Elkwood Springs is a shelter specifically for Cats, Birds and Ferrets.
Located in Ontario, Canada, the main building is a large building, with a few trees out on the front lawn. The animals are kept in the back of the building, in separate rooms.

The shelter originally opened in 2020, by a woman named Randy Elkwood. Elkwood Springs was originally just a dream of hers, a dream which came to life inside her head when she adopted her first pet from a shelter. Since then she'd decided to dedicate her time to her dream. Randy had always had a fondness for felines, as she'd grown up with one. Later when opportunity arose, she decided to go for it.
Randy wanted to make the world a better place for animals and families alike, because everyone deserves a home.

Jason ran a hand through his hair and stared up at the log cabin-esque building in relief. He'd been waiting tensely for a few weeks, when the call had finally come in. The previous owner had sold, and the property was his.

He and his wife had made some calls, and the last month had been spent hiring applicants for an on-site vet and staff. It was a small group for now, Jason, his wife, their daughter, the vet and her wife, and five additional staff members. Maybe if Felines and Foxes grew beyond his expectations, they could hire some more staff, but for now, the ten of them was a good number.

They'd already had three animals come in. The first was Snowy, an artic fox that had been given up by a friend of Jason's, and actually part of the reason he'd wanted to start Felines and Foxes.

The second was Ink Blot, the young tomcat his daughter had found on the streets just a week ago. She'd cleaned him up, and decided he would be the perfect fit for their shelter. Since she was one of the two Domestic Cat workers (and his daughter), Jason had allowed it.

The final animal they'd received was a caracal, the wildcat had come from the zoo about three hours drive away, the staff had called Jason and asked if they had room for him, seeing as the caracal seemed to take to escaping his pen and wandering the exhibits like a tourist. Since the other option had been putting Shriek (as the caracal was named) down, Jason had agreed.

Cody was out walking Shriek now, they'd fitted the dusky fawn colored feline with a collar, and after a few weeks of training in the enclosures, Shriek had learned that the leash meant he could go out of the wildcat room, and out of the enclosed pastures. The training had been going fairly smoothly since.

Jason wasn't sure what Kathrine and Stacy were up to with Snowy, but he knew the artic fox was in good hands. Each of the staff had been picked for a reason, and Jason knew that the animals here would be treated right.

"Rescue: It's not a
verb, It's a promise."

If they could Grr and Purr would take in any and
all animals. However the shelter specializes in
wild canines, wild cats, and hyena. The shelter
was founded by an elderly couple who wanted to
give back to those with no voice. Although the
couple is no longer alive, the shelter goes on. It
is now owned by the couples' granddaughter and
close family and friends. Grr and Purr take in
animals who are no longer able to live in the wild
or are rescued from horrible living situations. The
animals at Grr and Purr are adopted out to reputable
zoos and wildlife sanctuaries.

The Grr and Purr shelter is located just off shore
of the mainland on an island. The island itself is
the entire shelter, providing lots of space for the
shelter animals to roam and not as caged in as they
would be elsewhere. Besides the shelter's main
building where most business is done there is also
a small town where shelter works and their family
live. The town also includes a couple of grocery
stores, a gas station, and a large veterinary clinic.

wip gonna edit this skelly post to be cute stuff about the animals coming to the ranch.

the percheron stallion ambrose misses his old owner who gave him up & doesnt understand why she left him; feels abandoned and is acting depressed.

the grass snake beryl settles in rather quickly to her new home, pleased to have her own space and not have to share with any other snakes.

the red fox rory is very suspicious of everything going on around him now that he is no longer wild; he hides from the people & makes alot of noises.
