one day, they two decided to meet up. they met in secret and were able to officially talk. that was when they started to feel.. sleepy. there had been a sharp pain before the drowsiness took over. when they woke, they were beside each other and in a completely different world. well, it felt like a different world. the two set out to find a territory since they knew there was no hope to going back to the pack. hades did not have a pack to go back to and, quite frankly, she liked being with him and away from her pack. her old life had felt so.. boring. now she was with a male who wanted to be with her. now that they were in each other's company, she realized that he was not much of a talker to begin with. She did not mind that since the former loner would listen to her chat and give his input from time-to-time.

"We have enough food." "The clan Traditions say never to waste an opportunity to hunt." "The Traditions say not to risk Wolf life." "Noether..." One of the Cedar trees in the Outer Circle dumped it's snow as a blackbird flew away. The loud thwumping noise coupled with the slight warning growl in Keat's voice snapped Noether back to reality. She did not know why she was so clingy as of late, she was not very fond of Keats and they slept separately now that her pregnant belly had begun to show. But she had this sudden need for him to stay close to her, this need to protect what was inside of her and the greatest chance of protection lay in her mate. Was this what pups did to a wolf? Noether wasn't sure she liked it. "You are not to argue with a pregnant she-wolf Keats." But even as she protested the she-wolf placed her forehead on the ground and tucked her tail between her legs as an apology for arguing with the Alpha.
Keats was a bit of a softy at heart though, so instead of placing his paw on her head he simply touched his nose to it as an 'I apologize as well" gesture. When Noether's eyes were on level with his again the male saw genuine anxiety in her eyes. It was unusual for the usually calm and distant she-wolf and it surprised him. He wasn't going to give her a calming nuzzle though, she was liable to bite his ears off and he didn't particularly want to anyways. "I was planning on hunting for our pups' Agisti, what would you wish me to bring them back?" The Agisti was especially important to the Alpha's first litter, and even more so in a new territory. Keats would hunt and bring Noether an animal, which she would then eat. It would be the only meal she ate until her pups were born and the species of the animal was supposed to bless the new litter with certain qualities. The Agisti had to be fresh or else the pups would be born with stale minds.
Noether could not help but feel like it was a bit early to be hunting for her pups' Agisti. She was only a month or so pregnant and didn't fancy fasting for very long. But Keats was the Alpha, and he was also the Cedar Speaker, so his word was law. "Moose would be nice, for longevity- but you cannot go hunting one on your own. You hear me?" Keats nodded which relieved her greatly, he probably would go after a moose for the benefit of the pups and the future pack. "A beaver. A beaver would be perfect. For protection and aid in building our pack." "I will find one," Keats promised- pressing his nose to Noether's belly and murmuring a vow of providence to the unborn pups, as was customary. Noether managed not to flinch at the coldness of her mate's nose, but when he finished his prayers and departed the feeling stayed with her and became comforting in her lonesomeness.

Ltsooy-Tuu
-----
The Pack of Burning Water (henceforth known in post as "Ltsooy-Tuu Pack" meaning "Yellow-Water Pack") are named for the harsh geological conditions that the pack is based around. The center of the territory houses a huge mountain, which is technically a still-active volcano, even if it hasn't erupted in thousands of years; it's also not predicted to erupt again for a few thousand more years. However, there is still geological activity occurring around the area, fairly clearly. There are several large pools of water around the territory, some of which are boiling hot and taste of sulphur; many of these lakes are strangely coloured, and it was after these pools that the Pack was named. In other areas, there are sections of soft soil from which plumes of hot water erupt- luckily fairly regularly, so the wolves know when to avoid them.
The wolves of Ltsooy-Tuu have learned to have a good sense of timing, and a strong instinct for the activity and nature of the water, so they can avoid the worst of the activity. Most of the lower ground of the territory is made up of forest, but there are some open areas- non surprisingly, trees don't grow much around the more sulphurous pools. A smaller mountain within the territory houses a corrie and a glacier, which the wolves are careful to avoid. Apart from these two mountains, most of the territory is actually fairly flat, although there are occasional steeper hills.
The central area of the territory has a ring of steep slopes, with a plateau at the top of the volcano (which looks a little like this). There are several areas in the lower slopes of the mountain which open up to caves, many of which have elaborate geometric rock formations, and strangely-coloured sections. Most of these caves eventually meet up with each other in an elaborate network.
There is a river through the territory, but the water downstream of one of the yellowed ponds in particular becomes foul-tasting and smelling, and drinking from it will make a wolf sick.
The Ltsooy-Tuu Pack are highly spiritual, with a sort of animatic/polytheistic faith; that is, the idea through much of the environment around them, everything has a spirit with a small amount of power to control their conditions, but simultaneously, that some of these objects are so huge that they represent enormous power. For instance, one of their main spirits is of the forest, (even though many of the trees also have spirits), and they think that the forest spirit blesses them with good hunting if they successfully catch large prey in the forest. Their ruling deity is the wolf spirit, Tiqundi, who they believe determines the health of their pups, the day they die on and size of their litters. Their beliefs also focus on the strange caves in the large, central mountain (admittedly only those which have enough light to actually be seen within, as clearly they can't identify exact features without the lighting), and pups have to enter these to receive their names and to be accepted as adult members of the pack.
They are quick and sure-footed due to the often thick snow and steep slopes, and any wolf who cannot navigate through the caves for any reason is normally mocked by the pack, and they can be quite cruel about it. Because of the thick snow that covers the territory for much of the year, wolves tend to be long-furred and have to have the strength to propel themselves through snow drifts with all the extra weight.
The non-English names are from words/traditional names in Athabaskan (+ some other Native American) languages/cultures..I may occasionally use Russian names as a back up option. Basically, if a culture is based or has had bases in Alaska, I may use names or words from them. I know it's not great to mix them all together, but sadly, finding any authentic names/words at all is hard thanks to baby name sites and their insistence that two syllables can translate to seven words, and I'd rather have to mix them together to have some name accuracy... They will always be things wolves could theoretically know about~
I'm also assuming that the wolf territories are significantly bigger than the cat territories.

The Ghost River pack is a mysterious group. Their territory is cold, often snowy and rarely warm, even in Summer. A great, wide and powerful river runs straight through their land. It is almost never frozen over, due to its speed, and is usually full of salmon and chunks of ice.
The northern 2/3 of the territory is made up of coniferous forest, thick and dark. Many animals hide in here for shelter, so it's the wolves' preferred hunting ground and also where their den is located. The southern third is pretty bleak. Dead meadows that had long since been frozen over are home to the smaller animals who are built for the cold, like arctic hares.
The wolves themselves are average in size, but are muscly to carry themselves and all the extra fluffy fur that they have to insulate them. Their fur is usually pale, like white or grey, but they have the odd black wolf. Generally, they don't have rich, warm colours in their fur.
As a pack, they are cunning and wise. They use their heads very carefully to make decisions and are tactical in battle and hunting. They are virtually never spontaneous, which sometimes leads to them missing opportunities, but usually keeps them safe. They love to tell stories and are constantly making up all sorts of tales and myths. Individuals are often very quiet, and they like to be in tune with their souls. They observe, they don't take action and are very spiritual and zen, until it comes to battle. Their quiet stillness alongside their pale colours gives them the impression of being ghosts, which is why they have the name Ghost River Pack.

Chowilawu - Joined together by water.(( OOC; Well seeing as I went all out for Mossclan's first post... Might as well do the same here!))________________________________________The Chowilawu Pack was formed together by two former-standing packs. With the blood of these packs running in the veins of the two descendants, they were said to have been transported to these sacred lands, never before charted by their packs, by the Goddess herself. A sign for change - and new beginnings.
These descendants flourished in their newfound land, protected by the great waters surrounding them - blessed by the Goddess they were. Threats that would've diminished them in their former lands were minimal here, and the overabundance of prey due to the lack of hunting in the area for more than a couple decades was most beneficial to the young couple. It was here they sowed their seeds and took roots - watched over by the soaring mountains behind them, and protected by the waters that encircled them.
Beliefs and Personality The Chowilawu pack holds a very strong religion and beliefs system. They worship the Goddess who gives them light in the darkness of night, who blesses their pups when dipped in the sacred lake, and warns them of cursed who may be growing within their ranks. She protects them all, and they can only thank her for all that she has done.
She-wolves in the pack are to be the utmost respected. For to challenge even the weakest she-wolf in the pack is to challenge the Goddess herself. She-wolves always have the final say in the pack and their word is law. Not even the most dominant male can question the weakest female. Challenges for the position of Alpha are usually directed towards the Alpha Male, instead of the female.
For the pack truly believes challenging a female - especially an Alpha - is a surefire way to get yourself cursed or rejected by their goddess.
Ceremony's of the tribe are organized and looked over by the high females in the pack. It is considered taboo for a male to participate or even watch. Depending on the severity punishment can be a firm warning, being looked down upon for a week, to a full blown shunning, or exile. Omega's (always the males) are sometime's an exception to this rule. Should no high-female be present for such ceremony's an Omega may step up and carry out the duties.
High females are those of higher-ranking females (More dominant) and are low-key worshiped as the Goddess is.
A High Matriarch is a title that can only be held by one wolf at a time - usually an Alpha female.
A High Matriarch is considered to be the mother to all. They are usually the most dominant, and have had the most litters of pups.
Occasionally a High Matriarch can be found who's not an Alpha. Usually this is the case in a sister or close relative to the Alpha Female - or the previous Alpha Female herself.
Characteristics and Appearance The Chowilawu Pack's average build for a subordinate wolf is: Muscular. From highly visible bulky muscle, to hidden muscle the pack's wolves are always loaded with them. They're a very strong pack able to take down the largest of game with fewer members needed.
Where the main amount of muscle lies in a wolf depends on their size.
The larger more bulkier wolves (typically males) have most of their muscle lying in their shoulders and neck. These wolve's are the one's who finish the kill after the much smaller and faster wolves tire their prey out. They are also in the first line of defense should a battle break out.
The smaller more lean wolves have muscles that are more focused on theirs legs. They are faster runners due to their smaller size, and have built up amazing endurance. These wolves are the main hunters. They're sent out to chase and pick out prey from a herd and lead them towards the more muscle-y wolves who finish the kill.
There are some wolves who have a very small build up of muscle, they are the sprinters and agility wolves for the pack. They usually race around in short bursts (They don't have the most stamina) setting up traps when under attack. They are also the one's leading any evacuations should need be. These wolves tend to be really hyper and jittery and can second as a play-mate for lone-pups.
Do to their agility and fastness these wolves are the one's to participate in Salmon Runs which occur in the fall, as Salmon flood their northern west rivers.
Grey & Tan - Very Common
Grey - Common
Dark Grey - Common
Black - Common
Silver - Uncommon
Pale - Uncommon
White - Uncommon
Brown - Very Uncommon
Red - Rare
When it comes to appearance and fur colour, Chowilawu wolves are usually variants of the Grey Wolf, and hence their pelts are normally a grey colour. Brown fur is very uncommon, and red fur is rare and often even considered taboo. These wolves are the most likely to become cursed or have evil tendacy's. When a red pup is born parents are usually looked down upon, until the pups 2nd or 3rd month when they receive their name and are blessed or cursed.
Territory Camp grounds for the pack varies seasonally. It's picked by the Alpha Female based off where she wants to raise her pups. Sometime's she'll stay in the same den with more than 3 litters before moving on. Sometime's moving off as soon as the first litter is of age to hunt. (4-6 months)
The pack is constantly on the move, and attacks are very hard to plan on them due to the switching of camp sites and dens. One place however the wolves are always present at, and is their assigned meeting place is the Sacred Lake.
The Sacred lake is located to the east of the packs territory with connecting rivers on each side. It stretches out for miles, and on the other side is a human settlement. In the summer and fall months humans come down from those parts to inhabit small cabins scattered across the woods. This possess a danger to the wolves as sometime's it's not mere tourist's who briefly inhabit the log abodes, but hunters as well.
All meetings and ceremony's are held at the Sacred Lake, and it is where the wolves go to pray to the Goddess. Like at gatherings it is considered taboo for fights and arguments to break out here. Punishment to all involved in the fight will be dealt out should one happen to arise.
The packs borders:
North East - A once wonderful forested area, now marred with roads and highways and even to the wolves horror a resort! For humans! This is a highly dangerous zone for the wolves through summer and fall with threats from hunters, and just humans in general. An uncareful wolf can get ran over by a off-road car or four-wheeler. Cabins are spread out widely in this area for humans to rent, and in the fall the lower Salmon population is almost completely wiped out by fishers! While the area is considered to be apart of a conservation park for the wolves it doesn't stop people from breaking the rules and harming the environment. Fines are being issued for fishers & hunters without licensing or park-ranger permission. But fish, deer, and wolves are still being over-hunted.
North - To the north lies a wide stretching river that branches off several times and flows away from the territory. Tree's here are thick, and clearings are sparse. This is a good place to catch Salmon as the fish frequent this neck of the river in fall. Wild Boar species can also be seen.
North West - To the North West lies a towering mountain, and beautiful waterfall that flows into the Northern river. Salmon are even more frequent here, and it is one of the best places to catch them. Beware though not only the wolves take advantage of this! Bears frequently come down from the mountain where they make their dens to feast upon the fish. It can make for a dangerous situation for younger wolves. The tree's here are still thick, but they start to disperse the closer to the mountain it gets making room for large rocky clearings to open up. Wild Mountain Goats can be seen here in flocks grazing between the rocks, and climbing on rocky outcliffs. Occasionally a Wildcat will wander this was west to prey on them.
West - The west is completely mountain! Totally impassable, and very dangerous. Larger Mountain Goats can be seen here, with their large and dangerous horns. The once well mixed trees of the forest are now peppered with pine's, and spruce as the climate here gets colder. Lots of snow runs off here in the spring and flows into the rivers. This can cause mild flooding, but it's not much of a concern as it can run off into their streams. It is only a large concern when there is so much snow that it causes streams to rise to dangerous levels. Wildcats are the main predator to the wolves here, preying on the abundance of goat. Snakes - venomous, and not - also like to sun bathe is the areas of rocky clearing and pose threat to young pups.
South West - To the south west the mountain starts to curl around the large circular territory the pack inhabits. This area is hilly and bare of trees. Long grasses grow, and a sparse few of goats can be found grazing on them. There is a hazard with snakes hiding in the grasses but the chance of a wolf stepping on one is slim. Snakes are more common in the immediate West. Badger dens can be found dug out in the hills, and abandon one's can be used as a den for the Alpha Female. Rabbit & hare warrens are also common.
South - To the south is a more or less undiscovered area. Wolves have never crossed over the southern river, and have had no real reason too. To be honest the South is one of the most unvisited areas in the wolves territory. It's mostly used when teaching younger wolves to hunt due to the open space but even then a forest is preferred. The most common type of prey here is in rodents,
and ground squirrels. While easy to catch they are only enough to fill a small pup. Rabbit and hare warrens are still frequent here,
and can serve as a small den for the Alpha Female when nursing pups. In Spring and Fall Canadian Geese can be found resting and meeting up in these fields after and before their migratory flights. Difficult to hunt given their sheer number, but a wolf may be lucky to snag one of the outskirts of a flock, or catch an injured bird unable to fly away.
South East - To the south east is a large sharp turn in the river. The bare grasslands from the west have started to fade out,
and a young forest rests here. Unfortunately this forest may just get cut down before it has chance to flourish. A large beaver population rests here building dams in the South & a small portion of the east river. The pack's rivals the Coyote's are also extremely common in these areas. Be careful bringing young pups here! White-tailed Deer frequent the area, with the occasional appearance of Elk or Caribou.
East - The east is where the Sacred Lake lies. Clearings are the most common in this part of the forest, popping up every now and again. Small pebbled streams also flow off of the river making homes for small minnows to swim. These grounds are prime for hunting, and it is where most is done. All species of deer in the forest come here to drink: Elk, Caribou, White-tailed Deer, Mule Deer, ect. Even the elusive moose can be seen sluggishly wading into the lake. Ceremony's are preformed at dark by the lake as the moon shines down on the waters. Meetings are also held. There is a large boulder overlooking the lake where the Alpha's sit to address the pack about any issues or plans.
Central Forest - This land is strictly the wolves. A beautiful mixed forest flourished surrounded by the diversity of the 8 sides of the territory. Alpha Female picks this area to raise her pups the most. Despite the constant changing of dens this area could be considering the main camp for the pack. This is where all the deer and caribou roam when not gathered by the Sacred Lake.
Prey/Predator List
Wild Goats (Prey - Minor Danger) - Goats are a small part of the wolves diet. When they're unable to catch larger prey such as deer, goats are usually the next best thing! They come in two variants: The smaller uncommon goats with almost harmless horns that live in the North West. The larger more common goats that live in the West are what the pack mainly hunts.
These goats are much more dangerous however. Larger horns, stronger legs and kicks, and they live in a more dangerous environment.
Hares/Rabbits (Small Prey) - Rabbits & Hares are a fast paced highly sensitive animal that the wolves hunt. They are found in the West and South West. It take's smaller built wolves with alot of endurance and speed on their side to catch one of these! Out of all hunts that involve a Rabbit most of time it senses the wolf and runs away. Because of that they are ignored and go unhunted, and just used for their abandoned dens.
Badgers/Raccoons (Small Prey - Minor Threat) - Badgers and Raccoons make terrible prey! The pack doesn't like the taste of them at all! Usually just hunted to eliminate threats to their pups, it's only in times of great need when they're hunted for food. Their abandoned dens make a great place for the Alpha Female to raise her pups though!
Beavers (Small Prey - Nuisance) - Beavers are another uncommon prey item the wolves hunt. While their tails are good to chew on and fend of hunger while waiting for a hunt to return, they aren't much for a growing wolf, and mother with pups. They can be found in the South East where they destroy the new forest, and flood their rivers.
Ground Squirrels/Rodents (Tiny Prey) - Rodents are more of a snack for the wolves than an actual meal. Mostly fed to hungry pups who can't wait long enough for their main meal. They can be found in the South & South West.
Salmon (Seasonal Small Prey) - Salmon are a small seasonal prey the wolves only hunt in the fall. The smaller more agile wolves are annually sent up during the fall for the Salmon Run, often accompanied by a larger wolf for protection. Fights sometime's break out for the fish against bears. The can be found in the North, and North West. Even in the North East before overfished, but it's too close to humans for the wolves to venture down there.
Elk (Large Prey - Minor Danger) - Elk! One of the main source of food for the wolves. These large ungulates have to be hunted in packs in order to be taken down. It's best to let the packs runners cut a doe from the herd before attacking. Beware of the bulls they have sharp antlers! All Elk can kick, and a well delivered one can permanently injure or kill a wolf.
Moose (Huge Prey - Medium Danger) - Moose! This is an uncommon prey item for the wolves. These massive creatures are incredibly hard to take down, yet provide food for months!! These hunts usually end at the expanse of another wolf though. Be it a step on paw, or broken leg from a kick. Or even a fatality.
White-Tailed Deer (Medium Prey - Minor Danger) - Deer! One of the main source of food for the wolves. These medium-sized ungulates have to be hunted in packs in order to be taken down. However singular take-downs have occurred. It's best to let the packs runners cut a doe from the herd before attacking. Beware of the Stags they have sharp antlers! All Deer can kick, and a well delivered one can permanently injure a wolf.
Mule Deer (Medium Prey - Minor Danger) - Deer! One of the main source of food for the wolves. These medium-sized ungulates have to be hunted in packs in order to be taken down. However singular take-downs have occurred. It's best to let the packs runners cut a doe from the herd before attacking. Beware of the Bucks they have sharp antlers! All Deer can kick, and a well delivered one can permanently injure a wolf.

Brownie trotted outside of the cave that she and her mate slept in. She was expecting pups, and was worried for their safety. But food was food and they needed to hunt.
"Are you sure you want to hunt?" asked Musk, padding out of the den. Brownie flinched and turned around.
"You scared me!" she exclaimed. Calming down, she walked up to her mate and licked his muzzle. "Of course I want to hunt. We need more food."
Musk sighed. "Take it easy," he said. "If you can't handle it, come back here."
Brownie huffed in annoyance. "I can hunt," she snapped. "No need to treat me delicately."
"Alright. Then let's go."
The two wolves bounded out of the territory of their camp in the hope of finding prey.
Musk and Brownie go hunting

Soft Feather wrote:The Pack of Skyward Wings is located in a large meadow surrounded by tall pine trees. It snows often there, especially during the winter, because of the elevation the location is at. A stream runs through the south side of the clearing from a river located farther in the woods, out of sight from the clearing.
The wolves of The Pack of Skyward Wings are lean, built for speed and not strength. They often use strategy to defeat enemies and large prey, rather than brute strength. Their pelts range from white to brown, and are usually not extremely dark pelted.
The pack is also known for being cunning, and often rely on tricks to get what they want from others.

'Leif. Let me go patrolling.' Redwood said, basically ordering him. Leif's ears went back.
'It's not safe for you. I worry.' He said, watching her.
Redwood's stern yet pleading gaze traveled towards her mate, who found that he cracked, and couldn't say no. 'Alright. You can go patrolling. But stay safe, alright? I'll hunt.' He nuzzled her, then bounded off.
Redwood watched him disappear into the undergrowth, before setting off to explore more of the territory.
Leif goes hunting.
Redwood patrols.

POV: Third-person limited, Layla
Layla huffed, trotting after her mate at a slightly lower pace than usual. Yondu paused, allowing her to catch up with him. "Are you sure you're ok to hunt with me?" The male woofed softly, his normally high voice low in seriousness for once. Layla nodded, lifting her head higher as she trod on.
"I am perfectly capable.." she panted, "Of doing anything I can do... at a normal time in my life. Nothing.. has changed."
Yondu didn't look so sure, but his thoughts were momentarily distracted. "Hey! Look at this flower!" He exclaimed, admiring the brightness of it. Nothing caught the male's attention like plant growth; one would think he was brought up learning the names. "I think it's a Dense Blazing Star flower!" Yondu grinned, proud of his observation. He lifted his head to look at Layla. "Isn't it pret-" But his words were cut off when he saw his mate. "Bloodwort and Thunder!" He exclaimed, leaping to his paws. "Why didn't you say anything? I told you you weren't fit to hunt! We have to get you to the den, right now!" Yondu panicked. Layla just sighed, gritting her fangs.
Layla and Yondu hunt.
Layla goes into labor!
The pack consumes x1 serving of deer and x1 serving of hare.
[yondu and layla don't catch anything, interrupted by the birth.]
[layla makes it back to the den in time. she gives birth to three pups with a dominance of 3, 7, and 14.]
