"Cats who walk beneath shaded skies, find me!" Algernon's sharp yowl cut through the island camp, splitting conversations in two and drawing the attention of his group. Some confused faces peeked out from tufts of long grass while others seemed to know the purpose of the summons. Their leader had been speaking highly of the event for a moon - the Naming Day of the group's only kit. Gathering until only Russel and the aforementioned Young Blood weren't in attendance, Algernon slammed his paw against the pile of rubble underpaw, eyes gleaming and bright as he howled again. "Today we send the first of our blood to the twoleg city to allow Scatteredscales to decide his fate. She shall guide his paws, though be it back to our home or to his end, we may not know!"

From outside of the rearers area, Russel was trying to block out the sound of her now-mate's cries, turning her attention fiercely to her child. "Listen to me," she hissed under her breath, heart clenching at the fearful look in her kit's eyes. "You are Bumble, do you hear me? My son - my only son. Your father's name was Talon and I will never love another cat as I loved him." She spoke rapidly, terror piercing every syllable as she rushed to speak her mind before he was called. "You're going to be taken to the city by Elroy - she plans to leave you in the city and watch from afar. Give her a good show, okay? Find kind looking twolegs, give them that sweet face you like to give me. Count the sunrises once you're there, Bumble. Keep it up for three sunrises, then find Elroy and tell her that you were named Bumble by a kind twoleg." From beyond the tall grass she heard Algernon's voice rising to a crescendo, belting prayers to the sky - she knew her time with her son was rapidly waning. "Three sunrises, remember that. You can manage without food for that long, if you can't find any. Be clever and swift, my little heart. I love you more than you know." The sound of pawsteps approaching heavily made the rearer stand up bolt straight, forcing a hard indifference to her expression that nearly cracked under the forced bravery upon her child's face. "If you don't come back after three days, sit on the outskirts of the city. I'll find you there and we'll leave together." She hissed, voice hardly above a breath just as Elroy ducked her head through the grasses.

Anhingastar nodded to his warrior ancestors, purring as he heard the she-cat and purred softly. "Thank you," he meowed, before waking as the sky turned to pink due to the sunrise. Smiling, he left the MoonCave and headed onto his territory. After a while, he caught his first fresh-kill, bumping into a she-cat for it. "Did StarClan send you?" he asked. The she-cat nodded and asked, "You Anhingastar?" which the leader nodded in response to. "I welcome you as Bramblemist to Platjaclan," he meowed, tail flicking. "I'll show you where the camp is," he meowed, heading towards camp.

"I'm going to go hunting and then request a deputy at MoonCave!" Anhingastar called to Bramblemist. "Why don't you find some herbs?" he asked, seeing the medicine cat nodded in agreement. Taking a deep breath, he smiled as he walked into the cave. "Thank you for sending me a medicine cat, Bramblemist has been a blessing," he meowed. "I'd like to request a deputy, so someone can help lead when I can't be around the camp," he explained, closing his eyes.

After her leader left, Bramblemist glanced at her herb stores. "I might as well see what's around here, as we'll have to get more cats eventually," she murmured heading out of camp.

the arcane reside in a city where rain is common and mist consumes each alleyway and street. the arcane doesn’t go into the densely populated area of the city often, they make their base in the rather shady part of the city. they will sleep wherever they want, for they aren’t obligated to go to their gathering place for shelter except for meetings, which will always occur at dusk. however, most who have families or are especially loyal to the leader will sleep in the apartment of a tall building. the loft apartment is abandoned, with broken windows and little left from humans raiding the place. it is the highest apartment, placed on the rooftop of the building overlooking the city.

it is believed that spirits wander the cities, spirits of the vengeful and bloodthirsty who search for cats to prey on for avenge their deaths. some spirits protect the arcane, others despise them. the bad spirits are called the invictus, who try take those who have committed crimes against loners, rogues and kittypets such as themselves by sending bad omens and threats at them. to protect themselves, the cats will use the trinkets they have and wear them to ward of the spirits and attract those who protect the arcane. they will pierce their ears with sharpened claws or teeth of animals, drape themselves in jewellery and sling bones across their necklaces. the shaman will fill their den with crystals, marbles and jewelry to ward off the bad spirits from themselves and their patients.

due to living in the city, the arcane are often purebred cats who have ran away from their owners rather than strays. breeds like maine coons, sphynx, bengals and siamese are common sights. colours vary, though it’s more common to see monochrome shades because it blends in with the city at night.

Many Voices Crying Out As One

Gorsebird rasped her tongue over her sons ears, curling her tail over them as she cleaned them off. The seal-point she-cat froze and looked up when the male Twoleg crouched next to her and her oddly soft nest, reaching out a hand carefully to pet Gorsebird, cooing some weird word that Gorsebird didn't understand. After being in the den for a month, Gorsebird guessed that Muffin was what the Twolegs called her since it was what they said anytime they wanted her attention. The Twolegs always said Tater Tot when they wanted Sunnyflower to come to them, but they eventually stopped doing that after she clawed them a few times. The only Twoleg who hadn't seemed to learn to leave Sunnyflower alone yet was the male one, who always said Claws McGee instead of the word the other Twolegs called her.

The male Twoleg brushed his hairless paw over Gorsebird's head, stroking her back a paw times before scratching beneath her chin. Gorsebird closed her eyes, a purr escaping her throat before she could stop herself. The Echoclan deputy jerked her head back, her mouth opening in a silent hiss. Sunnyflower looked up from her grooming, a disgusted look on her face. The opening to the Twoleg den opened, causing Sunnyflower tense as if she was going to bolt. The female Twoleg entered the den with one of the odd carriers they had brought Sunnyflower back from the Cutter in. She settled on the floor and pulled a bag off of one of the ledges, pulling a soft pelt out and setting it across her lap. The female Twoleg opened the odd carrier and reached inside, pulling out a tiny black kitten. The kitten mewled weakly, her tiny claws flexing as the female Twoleg wrapped her up in a blanket and held an odd thing filled with a white liquid to the kitten's mouth. The kitten shook her head, letting out a cry. The female Twoleg sighed and put the black kitten away and pulled out a blue tortie, trying the same thing that she had done with the black kitten but received the same rejection. The female Twoleg pulled out a blue kitten and just stared at it, as if already knowing the kitten would reject the strange liquid. She looked over towards Gorsebird, who was peering over the edge of the nest and watching the kits curiously.

The female Twoleg carefully gathered up the three kittens and shuffled over to Gorsebird and her sons. She held out her hands, letting Gorsebird sniff them. Gorsebird shot the Twoleg a suspicious glance before grabbing the blue tom by his scruff and pulling him into her nest, waiting until he started eating before doing the same with the two she-cats. Sunnyflower nosed her way past the Twoleg, sniffing at the kittens. "Where's their mother?" She questioned Gorsebird.

"I don't know." Gorsebird mewed, turning her attention to Fleetkit and Pinekit, who were starting to wake up.

"Why are you feeding them?" Sunnyflower grumbled.

"I think the Twoleg was trying to feed them, but they wouldn't eat. They need to eat and I have plenty of milk to give."

"We need to start searching outside of our borders." Pigeonnose, who had been named the temporary deputy, mewed to Raggedstar, who was in the middle of trying to set up patrols. "It's been a moon and we haven't left Echoclan territory to find them. Raggedstar, what if something bad happens to them soon because we didn't go save them?"

Raggedstar turned to Pigeonnose, shaking his disheveled fur. "I'll send someone soon to find them, Pigeonnose. It's going to be Leafbare soon and we need to stockpile as much prey as we can. Now, go find something to do and stop bothering me while I'm assigning patrols."

Pigeonnose looked over when he saw Crowcloud making his way towards him, his eyes dull. Since Gorsebird and Sunnyflower were taken, Crowcloud had moped around the camp and hardly spoke to anyone, except to tell them if they needed to come to the medicine cat den to get more medicine for their wounds.

"I want to go searching for them." Crowcloud mewed.

The cream tom's gaze dropped to the medicine cat's flank wound that was still bleeding some. Everytime the wound got close to being fully healed, Crowcloud would move the wrong way or scrap against something and re-open the wound then get yelled at by Brindlecloud for having to waste herbs on his stupidity. "Are you sure Brindlecloud can spare you?"

The dilute calico poked her head out of the nursery when she heard her name. "Yes, please take him. His moping around is getting annoying. He needs stuff to do." She called to Pigeonnose before disappearing back inside, most likely to tend to Piranha and her kits.

Pigeonnose sighed and turned back to Crowcloud. "Alright, let's go." He mewed.

Palmetto shifted next to Deli, yawning widely. "Do you think he's doing alright?" The ruddy she-cat asked. The tiny tabby raised her head, blinking her green eyes. She turned her head, rasping her tongue over Palmetto's shoulder as she tried to think of how to respond.

"I hope he's fine. You know how stubborn Roach is, it takes a lot to knock him down." Deli mewed, shifting a little bit away from Palmetto so she could look up at her. "I want to know why Rico forced him out though." Palmetto nodded in agreement shifting to her side so she could groom her bushy tail. "It was so sudden." Deli watched her friend as she continued grooming for several moments before getting to her paws. "I'm gonna go find Hipster and Highrise." Palmetto mewed a brief goodbye as the tiny rogue scuttled away.

The ruddy rogue went about her business for the rest of the day, forgetting about the conversation she had had with Deli. Deli had completely slipped her mind until she saw the she-cat running towards her, a panicked look on her face. "I found out why Roach was kicked out. We need to leave now!" Deli hissed, her paws kneading the ground anxiously as she threw glances over her shoulder. "Don't argue with me, we just need to go." Palmetto's mouth gaped open slightly as she tried to figure out what had Deli so ruffled but her thoughts were cut short when she heard loud barking. The pair bristled and turned, fleeing down the alley and out onto one of the large Thunderpath's that filled the city. The barking grew louder as they fled, weaving in and out of still monsters as they tried to lose the dogs that were gaining ground on them.

"This way, there's a hole in the fence that the dog's won't be able to get through." Palmetto shouted, ducking into an alley. Deli followed close on her heels, her tail sticking straight up in fear. "No, no, no!" Palmetto cried, skidding to a halt as they came to the fence that had been broken the week before. Those darn Twolegs had fixed it! Palmetto whirled around, backing up until her hindquarters bumped into the fence. Deli pressed against Palmetto's side, her green eyes wide as the dogs slowly prowled into the alley after them. "Deli, get onto my back and jump up onto the top of the fence."

"I'm not leaving you!" Deli growled. "We stick together, always!" Palmetto looked down at the smaller she-cat, the hot pricks of tears starting to well in her eyes. "Palmetto, I need to tell you something."

"No, you can tell me later."

"No, I need to tell you now. He lead the dogs to us. I overheard him and now he wants me gone." Deli growled. Palmetto was about to ask who she meant when the largest of the dogs darted forward, snapping its large teeth at the two cats. Palmetto let out a pain filled cry when the teeth made contact with her shoulder, blood splattering Deli's pelt and the ground beneath them. "Run! I'll be right behind you" Deli yowled, barreling into the dog and sinking her teeth into his leg. Palmetto skirted around the dog and took off down the alley, wincing in pain. At the end of the alley, Palmetto whirled around, expecting to see Deli right there. Instead, she saw the dogs all huddled together. One of the dogs looked back towards her, blood dripping from his jaws.

As Palmetto started to run again she noticed a large cat stand up on the fence at the other end of the alley and disappear on the other side.

Palmettowing woke to tiny paws pattering over her flank. She opened her pale yellow eyes to see Hawkspeck, Magpiespeck, Waspspeck and Bumblespeck playing around her and even climbing over her to get away from each other. "Why are you in the warriors den?" The railrunner asked with a groan, arching her back as she stretched. "Where's Mottledflank?" Even though only Hawkspeck and Magpiespeck were Mottledflank's specks, she still took care of and nursed Waspspeck and Bumblespeck, who Roachtrack had taken in when he came across a Clan that had been disbanded.

"She's talking with Tunamouth again." Magpiespeck chirped as he clambered up Palmettowing's head and clamped his tiny teeth on her ear. "She told us to go bother you while she was busy." Palmettowing rolled her eyes, silently cursing the lantern. The ruddy she-cat shook the unruly kits off and hauled herself to her paws.

"Head back to the nursery, I have patrols I need to go on." When the specks didn't move, Palmettowing dropped into a crouch and growled loudly, causing the specks to squeal and tumble over each other as they tried to get out of the den. Sablefang, the only other railrunner in Steamclan, let out an amused snort as she groomed her tabby fur.

"We gotta meet Roachtrack at the steps." Sablefang reported to Palmettowing before getting to her paws and slipping out of the warriors section of the metal snake that the Steamclan cats slept in. Palmettowing groaned and followed after her, wrinkling her nose at the cold concrete ground of the platform. Across the platform next to the fresh-kill pile, Troutmouth and Mottledflank were crouched together, their heads bent close together as they spoke. A few paw steps away, Widowscrap was lounging on some odd wood stacks, grooming her short black fur while she waited for her mentor to finish flirting with the lantern. Palmettowing greeted all three before she darted up the steps that lead to one of the many rooms that was built around the Ironpath. Eventually, Palmettowing reached the ivy-covered stairs that lead into the outside world.

Palmettowing purred happily when she saw Roachtrack was pacing at the entrance, his tabby tail lashing as he waited for the pair. The ruddy she-cat brushed against her best friend's flank. "Let's get going."

BeachClan

Besides the deep, blue ocean, lives a small group of cats, called BeachClan...

Introduction

SeaShell (later SeaStar of BeachClan), was born is JungleClan and lived the happy life of a warrior until one day, SmallStar, the clan's leader died and his deputy, the bloodthristy VineTail took his place and lead his warriors into pointless wars until he almost completley destroyed the group. Unable to watch his clanmates die for nothing, SeaShell tried to lead a rebellion againts his leader but failed and had to defect from the clan and abandom his warrior life. He traveled as a rouge for many moons, reviling his starry ancestors for letting this to happen... But last night, he had had strange a vision of a big body of salty water. Maybe StarClan didn't give up on them, after all?

Reputation

The cats of BeachClan are know as proud, arrogant but clever, never letting others tell them what to do. "Smart on land, fierce in water" as they usually say, becuase their favorite tactic is to lure their opponents into water. The majority of them are short-furred sleek and have web between their toes. They take great pride in their ability of swimming.

Territory

As we mentioned before, BeachClan lives by an ocean, at a warm climate. The leaf-bare is milder, but the green-leaf is extremely warm and sunny, because of this, cats can get sunburns or heat stroke. There is little undergrowth to support the cats so they usually hunt for fish and other sea prey, or hunt for sea gulls if they are lucky. Their camp is at a huge cave system, where they could escape the scorching sun, right at the heart of the territory.
(oof that map looks terrible, I will hopefully redo it one day :,) )
