Just a little fun for when you have time to kill

Hi there, raters! I am a traditional rater and rate the traditional way with my names. I do struggle sometimes. Also, I use different cats each post i make on this thread. I use the help of these; Prefixes, and suffixes. Thank you.

Orchidflower - 10||ten love it!

Clouded-eye - 8.4||ten At first I was unsure about this name, but I did some extra searching. Nice name-change!

traditional name(s);;

Dapplewhisker - Dapplewhisker is a tortoiseshell she-cat with copper eyes. She's one of the best hunters in RiverClan. She was formerly a ThunderClan cat, but was exiled for having kits with a tom in RiverClan. Her option was of course: RiverClan. They gladly accepted her, and she easily learned how to fish, and sometimes uses her SkyClan descendants as an advantage to catch birds overhead. She's the best hunter in RiverClan, proving that ThunderClan had a great loss.
PIC FOR BETTER DESCRIPTION;; xxx

dapple - tortoiseshell pelt.

whisker - advanced hunting skills

Quailstream - Quailstream was born in RiverClan. He's a brown tabby with white paws and underbelly, along with green-yellow eyes. He's an excelled swimmer, learning from his father. He's almost drowned several times, but always made it alive.
PIC FOR BETTER DESCRIPTION;; xxx

quail - brown tabby appearance

stream - advanced swimming skills

non-traditional name(s);;

Mosswhisper - Mosswhisper is an elder of WindClan. She has a light gray pelt and green eyes. She's known for her soft voice, never speaking up about things and you'll probably need to ask her twice about what she'd said. Even as a cranky elder, her voice is calm and soothing to restless kits.

Don't remind me what I did wrong on Mosswhisper. I'm aware.

extras wrote:
Quailstream is the RiverClan cat Dapplewhisker betrayed ThunderClan for.

Mosswhisper is Dapplewhisker's mother. She betrayed the warrior code and had to leave her in ThunderClan while she went to WindClan.

Dapplewhisker and Quailstream's kits are:
Cherrykit ♀, Lizardkit ♂, Emberkit ♂, and Stormkit ♂.

I rate any sort of name, traditional or not. I do not judge to quickly on meaning, but rather how the name sounds. I will be more thorough and detailed if ask to be.
╔══════════════╗
Rating
╚══════════════╝
Dapplewhisker
10/10
The name is lovely, along with the description and brief background. There is no complaints on this character.

Quailstream
9/10
The looks and brief background are well, the name just sets me off. I get why he was named it, it just will always sound odd to me.

Mosswhisper
10/10
Despite hating whisper in warrior names, it suits her well. With her looks to her personality, she's an over all well developed character.
╔══════════════╗
My Names
╚══════════════╝
(These are in no way related to the canon traditional names, so do not base them on that but instead of the meanings and how they sound/correlate with the looks. Thank you ^^
Littlechirp - looks
Little - Named after her small size alone
Chirp - Named after the high pitched squeaking sound she makes after each sentence, similar to a voice crack. After her clan mates started giving her the nick name 'Birdy', her leader named her Littlechirp. She was not bothered by it, thinking the name suited her just fine.
Pollen-nose - looks
Pollen- Named after the way her nose would constantly twitch during Green-leaf due to her allergies to pollen.
Nose - She never outgrew her allergies, so she was named Pollen-nose by her leader. The naming ceremony was taken place during the middle of Green-leaf, so she was constantly sneezing during it.

**note: i am a traditional namer, but i will be fair to non-traditional names based on meanings.

littlechirp: (8/10) makes sense and flows nicely.

pollennose: (2/10) i get what you had going, but why would a queen name her kit pollen- for the allergies, when she doesn't even know her kit has allergies yet? it's very very unlikely his allergies showed right away as a newborn, so did she wait until he grew up before even giving him a name? just doesn't make much sense to me... even for non-traditional naming. does sound okay though and i like that you gave him allergies.

my names:

pinestream: blue-grey she-cat with advanced swimming skills. she's a hard worker and very caring, but lets her emotions get the best of her and usually acts impulsively.

lightwhisker: white tom with one blue eye and one green eye. he is deaf in one ear,but even with that, he is a wonderful hunter. he's insecure and doesn't speak his mind, sort of a pushover, but he's also very wise, patient and observant.

Hello there, everyone! I am a semi-tradition namer, I normally use traditional prefixes and suffixes, but will occasionally sheen away from the methods. Ex: Sometimes I'll use -blaze or Wolf- but very rarely ones like Soft- or Sweet- I will not rate traditionally if the name is non-traditionalThis is a really nice purple!!

Name Rates

Pinestream, 10/10, First off, I'm a sucker for the Pine- prefix. I also quite like the -stream suffix, as there is little representation of cats swimming T_T Cats really only dislike water when they're forced/slip in. They just don't swim alot.

Lightwhisker, 10/10, Good name,, and it suits him! It's getting tiring to see all these white cats with blue eyes who have perfect hearing ability, and it's refreshing to see one who is even half deaf.
(I wouldn't be so frustrated if it wasn't so popular, but not everyone sticks to realism.)

My Names

Slugflower, a small black molly with copper eyes. She is fiercely protective of… anyone. She makes sure to protect kits, apprentices, and other new queens. She is considered good looking within her clan, specifically by her mate, Tinyfoot.
Slug- size and pelt, -flower, nurturing skills
Traditional

Toadfur, a brown dappled molly with yellow eyes. She is clever and sarcastic, coming up with a witty retort before her opposition can say another insult. Her retorts are sometimes rude and belittling, but she finds it effective in battle.
Toad-, pelt, -fur no nameable skills or personality traits. (Does -storm fit her?)
Traditional

Laurelflower, a white molly with green eyes. She finds herbs to be completely repulsive and usually refuses to eat them, which once made her severely ailed with green-cough before she agreed to take herbs. Not wanting it to happen to her kits, she is stern with them and guides them on a path to listening to her superiors, and doing what they say.
Laurel-, white pelt, -flower, nurturing skills.

Important! Please read if you know genetics! These cats are from a fanfiction, and I want to maintain a sense of realism, so if there is anything wrong with the genetics, PLEASE tell me! Ex: Torties are hardly ever male, and if they are, they usually have 'problems' that could interfere with clan life, same with calicos, ect.

Also, if any of the descriptions are a little awkward, that is because they are taken from my fanfiction, some were loners and rogues and have been edited to receive a clan name

i am mainy traditional rater and namer, but i'm okay with some non-traditional names.

slugflower - 8/10. the name seems kinda... off to me, but i like it's unique prefix. it's not often you see slug-. i kinda retracted a few points because i don't think -flower is very fitting. she is fiercely protective, like you described, but you never mentioned being motherly or a teacher, or anything along those lines. protective is different then nuturing in my opinion, so i think a different suffix might work better. maybe -claw?

toadfur - 10/10! i really like this one, i think it's fitting to her. and i think -storm would be much more fitting then -fur, as she does seem to have pretty obvious skills. nice job!

laurelflower- 10/10. same reason as above.

my cats

aspencloud - a tom-cat with a laid-back and relaxed personality, and he has a tendency to daydream. he tends to be rather clumsy as well. he is a light grey tabby with a white underbelly and muzzle, and amber eyes. picture for better idea.
aspen: pelt colour. cloud: personality.

sorrelfang - a fiery and hotheaded she-cat. she likes to be in charge and has a rather large ego about her fighting skills, despite them not being the best. despite that, she is confident. she is a calico, with a stump tail, which leads her to have troubles balancing in trees, on thin things, etc. she is a calico, with amber eyes and a stump tail. picture for better idea.
sorrel: pelt colour. fang: skills, and personality.

my name...

hi there! my name is kennedy. i'm a pan girl who enjoys cute anime girls. im into a lot of stuff, but the big things i'm into at the moment are persona 4, persona 5, love live, idolmaster, bang dream, kid icarus, pretty cure, fire emblem, pokemon, fullmetal alchemist, ensemble stars, vocaloid, haikyuu, as well as general j-fashion. i do have some more minor interests that i still enjoy roleplaying, like warrior cats (but i don't actively follow the books anymore). i like to draw and write, and i'm currently working on a multimedia project titled extermination reality. i'm coming back to cs from a break because i want to get into roleplaying again to flex my writing skills. generally i like to think i'm a relatively chill person, so please don't be afraid to approach me if you need to talk about something. i hope if we interact that you can enjoy yourself!

      im a traditional rater, so please don't get offended, and you certainly don't have to use my suggestions, my names are supposed to fit the cat and be lyrical, not be pretty c: please, look here for traditional prefixes and here for traditional suffixes.

      aspencloud-10 i've always loved the prefix aspen-. it's a nice name, and it fits him well.

      sorrelfang-7 the name sounds fine, but it doesn't fit her rather well. the suffix -fang is for cats in which are both very good at hunting and fighting, and in this case, she's neither? i suggest the suffix -fur or -pelt since you didn't mention any other skill she might have. c:

      my cats;;

      sootwhisker- jet black molly with vivid green eyes. she is a lean warrior with a muscular figure that helps her be quite quick-footed in hunts.

I am not a traditional rater or namer.

    Sootwhisker- 9/10 Great name! There's no real flaw in it, but it's not quite a ten out of ten to me.

My cats

    Mistblaze - A light grey tom with blue eyes and lightning-like patterns. He later becomes leader of his Clan and it a decent fighter, with a bit of a temper.

    Sunstalker - A ginger tabby tom with green eyes and one dark ginger ear. He is a better hunter than he would admit, one of the best in his Clan, hence 'stalker'.

    Crestfall - A black she-cat with a grey crest shape on her chest and yellow eyes. She is slightly faster than other cats in her Clan, sometimes making her a little bit of better warrior. Nothing is very unique about Crestfall.

Littlestream - 10||ten Nice name! c:

traditional name(s);;

Stoatclaw - Stoatclaw is a reddish-brown tom with big green eyes, and a white underbelly. He has tons of scars. He always had ambitions to become leader, and the rank is just right at his claws. He's the deputy of ShadowClan and loves to fight and train others. He has had many apprentices in his life, and all trained to be great fighters. He's basically the mascot of ShadowClan, proving the disrespected Clan gets the pride it deserves and the respect it needs to get.

stoat - reddish-brown pelt and white underbelly

claw - great fighting skills

Cherryflower - Cherryflower is a tortoiseshell she-cat with white paws, amber eyes, and a torn ear. She used to have the same dream as Stoatclaw, to fight 'till the death, and to maybe become Cherrystar one day. But then, she realized fighting was not her best skill, nor was hunting. She told herself that ShadowClan had no use for her, and so she decided to become a permanent queen. She lives in the nursery, taking care of orphans or mothering her own kits. Stoatclaw is the fire of ShadowClan, fierce, brave, and determined to win. Cherryflower is the water of ShadowClan, calm and caring, taking in the suffering and nurturing them until they heal. ShadowClan, in other's eyes, are scary and tough. But when they meet Cherryflower, they wonder why she was born there.

cherry - tortoiseshell appearance

flower - great mother

Stoatclaw - 10/10
Cherryflower - 10/10

Love them! Nice characters.

My cats;;

Traditional
Dustypatch;; Medicine cat to WindClan, Dustypatch had really been a last resort when the previous medicine cat fell ill. Originally a warrior apprentice, he struggled to adapt to his new role. However, he now doesn't want to go back. He requested to take his younger brother on as his apprentice, too, and claims its more like he is the apprentice and Blueleaf is the mentor.
Dustypatch is a white tom with dull brown patches and green eyes.
Dusty- ;; brown patches
-patch ;; no remarkable traits, patched pelt

Blueleaf;; Blueleaf is still considered a Medicine cat apprentice, but he knows herbs and treatments like the back of his paw, and has a strong connection to StarClan. He trained under his brother, which worked out for them. Being young still, WindClan will be able to rely on him for a long time.
Blueleaf is a blue-grey tom with odd white markings, particularly on his face. He has a small stature and kit-like soft fur. His eyes are green.
Blue- ;; blue-grey coat
-leaf ;; incredible skill with herbs

Hawktail;; Hawktail is an older she-cat, a senior warrior in ThunderClan. She is well known throughout the Clans as a bit of a brute, but she is truly sweet. She is also known for attacking prey and enemies in and from trees.
She has long brown fur with a reddish tail and a pushed in face. She has several scars, too. Hawktail has amber eyes.
Hawk- ;; brown fur
-tail ;; notable balance

Semi-traditional/Non-traditional
Rainsong;; Though very young, Rainsong was suddenly deemed deputy of RiverClan when his old mentor became leader. Rainsong had a single apprentice before, Splashpaw/fur, and felt he was not qualified. However, his old mentor disagreed. Rainsong is an expressive tom, and he is prone to flares of anger and sadness cause of it. Despite this, he os loyal, honest, and trustworthy.
Rainsong is a mottled pale blue-grey tom with one blue eye, one grey-green eye and long legs.
Rain- ;; speckled blue-grey pelt
-song ;; expressive nature

Hello there, everyone! I am a semi-tradition namer, I normally use traditional prefixes and suffixes, but will occasionally sheen away from the methods. Ex: Sometimes I'll use -blaze or Wolf- but very rarely ones like Soft- or Sweet- I will not rate traditionally if the name is non-traditionalThis is a really nice purple!!

Name Rates

Dustypatch, 6/10, It's a good name, and suits him, but since you've filed it under 'traditional,'I feellike I should tell you that if you follow the normal traditionalism, neither Dusty- nor-patch are viable.-patch because there are patched suffixes, and Dusty- because it implies the cat is covered with dust X3. It give 6/10 because Dusty- and -patch describe him, but not traditionally as you seem to have wanted. Also, white with brown patches might not be viable for Dust- Suggested name Brightfur/pelt. Bright- is good for patched cats, and -fur/pelt indicates no notable personality traits or skills.

Blueleaf, 10/10, Perfectly traditional, and a fairly interesting character! If you'e using these characters in a story, I highly recommend having a side plot about the clan's reaction to a medicine ca taking his brother on as a apprentice. Do they accept it, or do they think it's bias? Interesting concept!

Hawktail, 9/10, In traditionalism, Hawk- isn't traditional, unless the clan has been moved to a place where this only one type of hawk- I'm not sure if there's a place like that or if they'd just y=use Hawk- instead of the bird name, but hey, ghost kitties inst exactly realistic either, is it? ^^Also I;m just a sucker for hawks so... Suggested name: Eagletail or Owltail. Both still have the bird of prey message, bu if there are no eagle in the territory, Owl- is another good one.

Rainsong, 10/10, Good, nice sounding name! I've never heard -song used for an expressive cat. Interesting, and makes sense.

Name, rating, reason

My Names

Fogpelt, a dark grey tom with orange eyes. He is slightly over confident in well… everything about himself. He is, however good at organising things and often likes things to be neat and organized- once trying to organize the prey-pile by size. His over confidence has gotten him into trouble more than once, the most notable being the time he was nearly caught by a twoleg as he went to steal a mouse belonging to a twoleg kit.
Fog- for his dark grey pelt, -pelt for no nameable skills or personality traits, unless you think -heart suits him.
Traditional

Firepelt, a dark ginger tom with orange eyes. He finds that he cannot climb a tree to save his life- quite literally. He is excited to become a warrior and wants to die in battle for his clan- literally wants to. Not green-cough, not age, just battle. (Note: He's a kit at the moment, so that's why it says 'excited to be a warrior.)
Fire- for his ginger pelt -pelt for no nameable skills or personality traits.
Traditional

Antfur, a small, dark ginger molly with copper eyes. Like Fogkit, she is very organised and joined him on his ‘quest’ to organize the prey pile. She is fascinated by all things natural- but especially snakes. She’s sort of obsessed with them and tries to connect everything with snakes.
Ant- for her size and ginger pelt, -fur for no notable skills or personalitly traits.
Traditional
