Moonpie yawned and scooted closer to the snoring Pizza. There was a peacefulness in the moment, and the day was only just getting started. With a deep breath, she breathed in Pizzastar’s scent, and froze.
Pizza smelled different somehow, as if something had changed.
Moonpie inhaled again, and then realized with delight what it was. A familiar scent to any who went into a queens’ den.
Pizza was pregnant!
Moonpie lept up excitedly, accidentally rousing her wife. Pizza blinked sleepily at the happy moon.
“S’up? You seem as cheerful and radiant as the sun, my dear Moon.”
Moonpie grinned. “You’re pregnant! I can smell it on you! We’re having kits!”
Pizzastar stared sleepily at her wife for half a minute as the information sunk in. Then, she too leapt up happily. “I’m pregnant?! WE DID IT! Moon we’re gonna be moms!”
The two cats danced happily in the leaders den, their joy loud enough to wake the entire clan.
Tealeaf, standing in the doorway, sighed heavily. Keeping Pizzastar relaxed enough to keep the future kits safe would be a wild ride indeed. But their joy was infectious, and Tealeaf too found herself happily pulled into the celebration of cats surrounding their leader and her wife.

Littledebbie was exhausted. A few days before, they’d celebrated with the rest of the clan in congratulating Pizzastar and Moonpie on their pregnancy. And now, they’d just given birth to their own two little boys, both perfect little kittens.
Littledebbie smiled at the two of them. They’d decided they’d name their kit Rocket, but having two was a shock they’d not prepared for. They stared at the perfect little kittens and mused.
Finally, with a decision set in their mind, Littledebbie kissed each boy on his head and murmured. “You are Rockit, whose name is a play on Rocket. And you are Rocketkit, whose name follows these clan naming rules.”
Littledebbie grinned to themself. Two whole rockets, just for them. And no tom to claim one as his own.
They nuzzled down to sleep next to Rockit and Rocketkit.
A perfect little family indeed.

Bitty had watched the small clan for a few days before she’d come to a decision to join. She hadn’t expected these cats to be so fun to observe, and they all seemed to have a weird thing for food names.
Joining had been shockingly easy, the leader grinning and giving Bitty the name Baconbitz. It was a fun name, and the leader had made a joke about how Bitty wasn’t really that itty-bitty at all, before being chased back into the queens’ den by a very tired looking medicine cat.
Baconbitz liked her new home. The two kittens, so small they hadn’t opened their eyes yet, and their parent Littledebbie. The apprentice Groundpaw who asked many questions. The deputy Ice Cream who tried to be serious but smiled a lot when he thought no one was looking.
She liked every part of this clan, and she’d work to protect it.
She could feel it in her bones, a resounding lack of aches. This is where she was meant to be.
And she’d hunt, and train an apprentice, and then she’d be able to retire and know she was well cared for.
Baconbitz grinned.
A wonderful home indeed.
Though perhaps, she should mention to Pizzastar that just accepting random cats with no screening wasn’t the best idea.
Not that it would change anything, as Pizzastar, on queenrest, was using every opportunity to tell the others about her brilliant plans to make the clan giant.

Clan Tradition:
When an apprentice is ready to become a warrior, they shall go on a week long quest into the Two-Leg territory on the western boarder, where they will look for a monkey by the name of Fitzgerald, and he will make their new clan collar for them. If they succeed then they shall be welcomed back to the clan as a full warrior, if they do not then they will have to train for an additional moon before they are able to try again. If they fail a second time, they are banished from the clan for weakness and a disrespect for clan tradition and law.

xxxxxxxthankfully the two asked no questions; sagewhisper had merely dashed to his quarters, nearly tripping over foxstep and peregrineswoop caught up in some sort of philosophical conversation in the process, and brought the chervil. everything is going to be fine. the high priest promised his lord earnestly. and why should he worry? it was greenleaf, and greenleaf was season when life bloomed and prospered.
xxxxxxxand yet he could not shake what had happened last greenleaf.

xxxxxxxfor what had seemed like eternity later, cardinalgaze with a beam in his eye was happy to deliver the news. the news being that all the kits were healthy.

xxxxxxxthe ruddy ginger tom waited outside the nursery area as borealstar reverently made his way to his mate's side. the lady had her head on her paws, flank heaving slightly from the hard labor. six - six kits were suckling happily on her side. all six were tabbies, although for two of them, the stripes were harder to see against their darker pelts. sagewhisper lay at her side, giving his friend a confirming smile. "two sons and four daughters; you've got a large family to be proud of."
xxxxxxxoh borealstar was proud all right, and a deep purr rumbled in his chest as he pressed his forehead to ravenglade's. "they're beautiful. all of them." there had been no complications, and now borealstar even had an heir! they settled on the following names; tempestkit, lionkit, pythonkit, wolfkit and darkkit. tempestkit and stormkit were the toms, and pythonkit, wolfkit, lionkit, and darkkit were the mollies.
