Northern Wind Kennel

This kennel is filled with loyal, close, dogs who will do anything for eachother. They live in northern Canada, therefore their territory consists of tundra and snowy mountains. All of the dogs have thick coats, even though there are a number of different breeds.

Weather:
Spring is in the air! Unfortunately the warmer weather is overshadowed by the grey sky and dreary weather. Dogs will be easier to find, especially pups and Tenderpaws. Predators are more likely to encroach on your territory with the abundance of prey

The young black and white canine followed nervously behind Bullet, navigating along an endless range of trees. "Almost there." Bullet promised in a murmur, and hope glinted in Felix's eyes. Moments wearily passed, and they finally entered the camp clearing. All sorts of dogs were busily doing their duties, and some were chatting away white they waited patiently for their turns. One dog in particular, a small and brown Irontooth, waddled up to Felix. Stifling a laugh at the size difference, Felix smiled awkwardly. "Hello, I'm Achilles. Welcome to Falling Leaves." The small dog yipped. "T...thank you." He replied. "I'm glad our ancestors brought me here. I promise to do good as a member of Falling Leaves." Felix vowed, dipping his head so it was around the same level as Achilles'. But something inside of him told him it wasn't so perfect.

It didn't take long to make Minnow driven into madness. After his brother's death, his mind was flaring with violence. Something that shrieked in his mind, and words he could not stop. Had he gone insane? Impossible. It was Bullet who had gone insane. Doing seemingly nothing for the pack, and definitely undeserving of the title of Alpha. Minnow, himself, would do fine as an Alpha. He had strength, courage and intelligence. He was fit for the title of Alpha. But how would he achieve the title? By convincing him? No way. By killing him. It would be hard, with all his lives and all. But he would take each life away, slowly but surely. And he'd be Alpha. But he needed someone to help, and he knew the perfect 'someone'. His very dear apprentice, Sieger. Bullet's very own son, ripping his lives away? Glorious.

"Nettle, Achilles, Saskia, Laurelle and Raj. I'm trusting you five to hunt down the deer. Bullet had offered to come as well, so that makes six of you to bring home a deer." Gabriel barked, and the five nodded and split off, preparing for their patrol. Bullet trotted next to his mate and gave her an affectionate lick on her head. "It's nice to be Beta again. The days of sitting in the nursery were so long and boring. Yet Sieger and Blitz were worth it." She grinned. "I'm glad you're back into being Beta. Boom did an excellent job in your place, yet you're still brilliant." Bullet replied, nodding his head. "I suppose I'll have to go hunting that deer down now." Bullet sighed, starting to make his way to the other five. "Please," Gabriel started with a whine. "Please be safe."

Otto and Skye sat side by side as they chewed on their meals, sharing a good-sized trout between themselves.  It was clear the two were getting comfy with eachother, even though both of them seemed to shy away from any comments about having a particular interest for anyone in camp.   It was clear though, they were falling for eachother.  

"I think they'll be announcing that they're having pups soon enough." Xylah commented to the group surrounding her.  It was her, Basil, Marina and the new shaman, Orion.  Basil and Orion chuckled, but Marina just shook her head.  "I hope not.  I don't think my brother would be good with pups.  He can barely take care of himself, let alone a bunch of rowdy young'ens!" The rest of the group let out a short burst of laughter.  "Oh, don't be so hard on him!" Xylah responded with a grin.

Denali took a deep breath, scenting the tundra air. He hadn't been on a hunting trip alone since his assessment as a Guided One and a dog with any sort of common sense could tell that he was out of practice. Suddenly, a sweet, delicious scent wafted up to him. Squirrel. Feeling his mouth water, Denali decided to pursue the furry prey. He carefully crept down the outcrop he was perched on and sniffed out his meal. Eventually, he saw it. It was nibbling on a acorn cap and didn't seem to have sensed him. He placed his paws carefully and he slowly got closer to it. Once he was in range, he pounced. But unfortunately for him, he landed about a claw length away, sending the squirrel scrambling up the nearest tree and out of the dog's reach. Sighing, he cursed under his breath. His stomach wailed too, making Denali even more hungry with an enormous rumble. "This would be so much easier with another dog. Plus, then we could try some bigger prey." he murmured to himself. Looking around, he decided to look around the territory. Perhaps, hopefully, he would find another dog...

Aries padded towards his emperor's den, his grip careful as he carried the limp body of a ferret in his powerful jaws. As he reached the mouth of the cave, the male made a tentative step into the den, releasing a soft growl to let his presence become aware. He didn't meet the piercing gaze of his leader as he drove his eyes into Aries, instead moving to drop the long rodent near to the male.
indent"I thought that you were hungry, perhaps." Aries whispered, nudging the prey towards Diablo before taking a step back.

indentDiablo didn't respond.

indentAries let silence drift between them, and unease rippled through him as the inaudible void surrounded him. The regent took another step backwards, slowly turning to pad out of his leader's den.

indent"I never said that you were dismissed, regent." Diablo suddenly said, his voice emotionless.
indent"Apologies, emperor."
indentDiablo, once again, didn't respond. His well-muscled shoulders flexed as he shifted his weight, his long legs splaying out in front of him as he began to lay down upon his pile of pelts and furs. Silence filled the two again, Diablo unperturbed by it while Aries fidgeted with disquietude. Finally, though, Diablo broke the silence. "How are your sons?"

indentAries was taken aback by the question. He simply ran his tongue along his muzzle for a moment before replying. "Fine, I suppose."
indentDiablo lifted his head suddenly, staring into Aries with his intense rufous orbs, interest gleaming within them. "They aren't any different? After you slaughtered Odin?"
indentAries jerked back, surprised by his tone. It seemed almost as if the leader was blaming Aries for Odin's death, as if he hadn't ordered him to his execution.
indent"They still look you in the eyes, like your a good father, not a murderer?" He questioned, his tone picking up more harshness.
indentAries looked away from Diablo, trying not to let the pain show through him. He knew his son's were different now that they saw him kill Odin.
indent"They still look at you, and are proud to be your son? As if they don't wish you weren't their father?" His voice raised, and he stood up, growling. "You're dismissed."
indentAries pinned his ears to his skull, the painful truth of Diablo's words piercing him as he scrambled back to his paws, moving out of his den swiftly.

Season: Spring

More and more twolegs are coming to the land of the kennels for hunting, fishing, and recreation. They set up traps for deer and other prey animals. Watch out. The nights are no longer cold and summer is not far away. There is less of a chance that pups and elders will catch greencough and pup-birthing will be easier as the year goes on.

Otto playfully bumps into Skye as the hunting party walks along the shore of the lake. Skye looks at him and splashes him with water. He jumps into the shallow water and splashes Skye and his sister. Skye laughs and Marina shakes out her coat. "Otto, stop messing around. We are supposed to be hunting and you are scaring all the fish away."
"Oh, you're always so serious, Marina. Take some time to relax and have some fun."
Skye says "Yeah, I think we should take a break for a bit. We have been hunting all day."
Marina sighs. "Alright, we can take a short break."
Basil says "I'm going to take a swim if anyone wants to join me."
Skye says "I will. I love swimming." She runs into the water and dives under.
Basil makes her way in and peacefully swims around.
Otto runs in and jumps on Skye. She joyfully screams and splashes Otto. Otto nods to Basil and says "Watch this." He swims up to Basil and splashes her in the face.
She growls and snaps at Otto. "Bug off! I can't have a relaxing swim with you two yelling and splashing me."
Marina watches as the dogs wade in the water. She is slightly panting from the spring heat. Marina thinks I hoe he doesn't act like this as a father. His pups will think of him as a playmate instead of a father.
[Hudson and Xylah find a dog and a tenderpaw while on patrol.]
[Orion finds X1 Mallow Leaves and X1 Stinging Nettle. He also spots a twoleg fishing on the other side of the lake.]
