i. love. vi. she's so..... [turns feral]. i just love butch women as a butch woman myself. seeing different facets of our identity in mainstream media feels amazing. especially in the way that the writers chose to portray vi. she's strong, yet sensitive. she's reliable, yet hotheaded. i really like how they emphasized her strength and her beauty not as two separate parts of her but as a whole. like they bounce back off of each other. it's refreshing to see (not like i watch a lot of media anyway)

• i love the guy who didn't like musicals. it's jsut so strong concept-wise. i have talked about this a million times BUT the worst mistake starkid made when making black friday was removing the meta element present in tgwdlm,, like i get that bf wasnt like a DIRECT sequel or anything but,, idk i just,, really missed that Cheeky fourth wall breaking that was so present in tgwdlm,, LIKE idk tgwdlm just felt like,, a parody of an average musical, i guess?? i think this is really evident in what do you want, paul? which serves as like,, a parody of an average musical's i want right?? (if you don't know what that is,,, an i want song is like,, where the writers of the musical establish the protagonist's motivations, right? think of like,, somewhere over the rainbow from the wizard of oz or uhhhhh *googles i want songs for more examples* OH how far i'll go from moana is an excellent example) like,, it really just sets up paul as the antithesis to what we know a musical protagonist to be,, he's just A Guy who...doesn't like musicals LMAO like,, he doesn't have these strong motivations,, he's just Existing and Trying To Get By, the way an average person might,, and while yes,, i think in some ways the way paul is portrayed hurts the musical,, but i also think it adds an element of comedy to it, while also being extremely relevant to the plot,,, because (OKAY it is now spoiler time!!!!!! do not highlight this text if you do not want to see spoilers for starkid's the guy who didn't like musicals and black friday!!!!) paul's lack of a strong desire is what saves him throughout most of the musical. we see with his friends that the aliens are able to use their wants against them, time after time,, (charlotte's marriage, bill's relationship with his daughter, ted is less clear,, its more of just a Strong Want for Survival,, ykyk like,, he basically abandons paul and emma so like,, idk maybe my point is falling apart with ted but oh well im too far to back now KJDSKHFD) and thus like,, paul not wanting much of anything,, it saves him from becoming a part of the hivemind BUT the devastating this is,,, the more the musical goes on, the more we see him fall for emma,, and thus a life with her becomes his want,, and that is what dooms him yk? like the moment where they almost kiss is supposed to be cute and funny but on rewatch i just,, get really sad knowing that it might have been different if someone they could have just,, Not done the romance LMAO (well either way they would have been doomed bc like even if they made it out of hatchetfield the hivemind still would have escaped as proven by the end of the musical,,, but maybe they could ahve had some Extra Time ykyk),, let it out is so good and i love jon matteson's performance,, it's just so good and i think like,, KSDHKF idk it just,, perfectly encapsulates paul's descent into the hivemind,, like,, it was the creepiest bit of the musical on first watch for me,, BUT IDK now im just like,, really saddened by it,, BUT like in a nice way,, like it's sad in a 'this is so good i am crying my eyes out' way ykyk (although i do think not your seed is the saddest song in the whole musical,,, bill and alice's relationship is just,, KJHFKJF idk i love bill a lot and i wish they could just,, have a musical where bill and alice are happy) and....uh tbh i lost EXACTLY where i was going with this so i'll just go ahead and start talking about inevitable where we see paul like,, fully given into the hivemind AND we also see emma's want for a life with paul being her downfall ykyk,, like she wouldn't have made it out of that situation either way ykyk but it's clear how much she wants for paul to still be himself,, how she is waiting for him to be like 'just kidding' or something,, i think there's a line that shows that shows her starting to realize that like,,, paul isnt joking,, she starts going like 'paul you're scaring me' and then finally hits us with the 'you're not paul, you're one of them' and it's just :sob: it's so good but it hurts so bad,, i had more to say but i've forgotten it,, OH BUT REALLY QUICK,, wanted to mention,, i love inevitable and the curtain call where emma is just screaming while everything is going on and all the others are smiling,, LIKE it's so creepy and someone in the comments called it surreal horror and idk if that's true but it just it feels really cool OH I REMEMBERED SOME OF WHAT I WANT TO SAY OKAY so yeah!! it seems like you have to have a strong desire for the hivemind to be able to like,, get to you ykyk,, and the continuation of that theme is seen in black friday, whcih is sort of cool although i still think tgwdlm should have been a standalone musical,,, like it's a bit different in bf ofc,, but it was cool to see that theme carry over, like im curious to see if nerdy prudes must die will have a similar thing where like whatever it is cant get to you unless youre like,, in a certain state or whatever,, but :shrug: ig ill see lmao BUT back to the ending of tgwdlm,, like its established early on in the musical that the musical is one the aliens are putting on to show the end of the earth (in the opening number in fact in the lines 'so tonight we're gonna chronicle, a story so astronomical, the last remaining story to tell') AND SO my theory is that they allow emma to scream like that,, as sort of a warning to the audience, yk? like they're using her to show what is eventually going to happen to the entirety of humanity,, now bc ive seen nightmare time,, i know Some Things about emma and while i'm not sure if it applies to the version of emma who was performing in tgwdlm,, im willfully ignoring it LMAO,, tbh i just don't like,, the fantasy (i guess??? not exactly sure what genre it is ykyk) horror,,, like idk SHDKF tgwdlm felt like,, almost sci-fi,, like really cheesy, goofy sci-fi but sci-fi nonetheless but then bf was like,, 'what if there's Multiple Dimensions!!!! and Eldritch Deities!!!!!!' and like,, idk im not saying i dont want to see a musical about those things,, i was just expecting something,, that felt more like it belonged with tgwdlm but oh well what's done is done,, i feel like i had more but i cannot remember what it was,,,
  tldr: tgwdlm is my favorite starkid musical

I don't really style my hair! It's pretty long, so I'll straighten it and part it down the middle or just put it in a ponytail. Never really learned how to do anything else and my hair doesn't seem to want to do much more than that.

fix the sing along issue, but if they're songs with the lyrics available on spotify, you can at least read along
