Clan Tradition:
When an apprentice is ready to become a warrior, they shall go on a week long quest into the Two-Leg territory on the western boarder, where they will look for a monkey by the name of Fitzgerald, and he will make their new clan collar for them. If they succeed then they shall be welcomed back to the clan as a full warrior, if they do not then they will have to train for an additional moon before they are able to try again. If they fail a second time, they are banished from the clan for weakness and a disrespect for clan tradition and law.

newleaf -- this newleaf seems to be drearier than past ones. the sun keeps to it's hiding place behind the clouds, which are sending down often and cold rains. the kits and elders hide away in their dens from the rain. however, signs of newleaf are still popping up in the budding flowers and the births of new lives.

Rex held his two she-kits in his mouth by the scruff, forcing his son to follow as best he could on his short legs. "Hurry up, kid." He grunted, muffled through the kits he was holding. He refused to tell the kits that he was the father, or even name them. Rex never wanted any kits for himself. As he came back to camp, most of the cats were asleep in their dens. However, he noticed Aliah was with Nina in the kitting den. He trotted in, dropping the kits.
Aliah narrowed her eyes at Rex, hissing. "And who's kits might those be?" She questioned, already knowing the answer.
Rex flicked his eyes towards the nosy medicine cat. "They're Nina's, if she'll have them." He urged. He looked at the black she-cat, hoping she'll blindly accept.
She sighed, frowning. "I'll take them in for you, Rex. Only on one condition... When they are old enough to take on a mentor, I want you to train one of your kits." She demanded, slowly breathing with her own two kits nursing.
Rex sighed, looking out towards the bright moon. He didn't want to explain himself to the clan, collecting rumors and shame like Frost has with her mateless pregnancy. He slowly nodded, turning out of the den. "Neither of you speak a word of this. Not even to your closest confidants." He ordered. Rex padded his way towards his own den, ignoring the small amount of guilt in his stomach.

Rex had been hearing non stop complaints from not only the elites about their groups, but many of the cats themselves. However, the most persistent complaint was from a newer member, Zephyr. 'Speak of the devil...' He looked up at the handsome tom, eyes narrowed and bored.
"Rex, I can't handle these apprentices. I'm not even Darling or Labyrinth's mentor and I have to be around them all the time, patrols and sleeping. Not only that, the only other warriors in my group are both queens! I'm running pretty much a kit patrol and I'm not even an Elite." He ranted, his tail twitching back and forth.
Rex sighed. "Maybe all this extra work is good at building, I don't know, a good work ethic?" He pushed.
Zephyr rolled his eyes, returning back towards the two apprentices. As Rex watched him leave, he caught the angry eye of Nina.
Rex clenched his teeth. He looked up at the cloudy sky, annoyed and hoping for no rain. He stood up, leaving camp for a small walk by himself.
